Black Forest Academy Review

A wonderful school for MK's and for TCK's. Most of the students are very friendly, and the teachers are (for the most part) very good. There's about a 50/50 split between home students and dorm students, and the dorms have a positive community atmosphere about them.

The teachers come from all over the world, just like the students, however a large proportion come from the USA and Canada. The teachers genuinely care about their students and the content they teach.

Black Forest Academy (BFA) is well-rounded in the opportunities it provides for its student's interests. Starting as a musically inclined school, BFA now also has strong sports (especially Basketball and Football [Soccer]), strong drama and theater, a growing computer program, a strong English and History program (offering up to high level courses like AP British Lit, AP European History, and AP Comparative Government, et cetera), and a strong Math and Science program (also offering high level courses like AP Chemistry, AP Bio, AP Physics, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus), and of course it still has a wonderful music program, offering private lessons to students and allowing juniors and seniors (11th and 12th year) to take AP Music Theory.

Could not genuinely ask for a better place to go to school.

I looked at this on Google Earth, seemed pretty legit.

Teachers are really sweet and patient. Education is decent. Students are sweet, mostly international from the USA or Asia. A very american culture so if youre into that.. Have at it. Only around 200 students.
Boarding is chill for the most part although be warned THEY DO NOT ALLOW INTERNET IN DORM ROOMS AND TAKE DEVICES AWAY AT 10:30 EVERY SINGLE NIGHT

I attended BFA from 2000-2003 and LOVED every minute of it. It's an American boarding school tucked in the Black Forest of Germany. If you visit, you'll meet hundreds of Third Culture Kids from around the world and have access to the largest smallest town in Germany complete with a gelato shop and a plaza. Most students board.

I went to BFA since 4th grade through 12th grade and just graduated in 2019 and I m a BFA alumni and I loved it! So many things like small groups, having a mentor... etc

If you are looking for hot babe, this is the place to be! ;)

I went to school here from 9th to 12th grade and absolutely loved it. The community is wonderful and friendly and the town of Kandern is a beautiful place to call home.
