Watched the Penguin show at the door (Rep theatre) excellent show and performance from the three young actors. Our two boys 4 1/2 and 3 years loved it. The 3 year old I think was expect real penguins though.

They don't accept the PDF they send you but accept a print out, absolutely a waste of paper and a choice which makes no sense.

How is a digital copy any different to a paper copy which you print off?

A theatre where you get a good view from whichever seat you choose. Good facilities and pleasant surroundings. It's seating capacity isn't large compared with other theatres but it is comfortable and well maintained.

Today's performance felt like a upmarket secondary school production. It lacked humor and catchy songs. Overall very disappointed. The venue itself is clean and pleasant and a great place to watch productions.

It's a while since I last visited Birmingham City Centre, but I visited at the weekend to see the production of 'The Lovely Bones'. The theatre itself is absolutely wonderful, the sightlines are fantastic, not a bad view to be had. The staff were very friendly and informative and enhanced the experience. The theatre has a decent bar, and there are some lovely places nearby. The whole area has been transformed recently and includes a fantastic water feature. The production itself was superb, and I shall definitely venture here again.

We attended an open day where you could go on a guided tour of the theatre behind the scenes. It was amazing to see areas of the theatre the public don't get to see. We got to find out how sets are made and hear about lighting and stage management. I do hope that this event is run again. Well worth visiting.

As with all theatres, the experience is mainly driven by the production. Since the refurb, and the tie-in to the new library with its impressive decorative metalwork on the outside, the building has a more contemporary feel; light and airy and - just about - enough space for the audience to mill about at the interval. Usual nuisance of queuing for refreshments is minimised by extra bar points, but overall a pleasant experience.

Had forgetten how pleasant The Rep is. Brilliantly placed in a now 'up-coming' part of the city, which is undergoing quite a transformation. This theatre is accessible, has lots of parking to facilitate it and the service was friendly. Enjoyed the show and had a great evening.

Wonderful theatre for Birmingham where brings everyone together. Great restaurant on site where you can enjoy pre theatre meal or a glass of wine.

REP also involved in local communities, developing then interest and educate drama and theatre to the general public.

In addition, a lovely place to rent for large business function as well!

Just been to see The Wizard of Oz as a twixmas treat. The whole family including teenagers througly enjoyed the show. Using a real dog as well as a puppet to play Toto was a seamless idea. The theatre trip was made more poignant with the comments voice by the wicked witch about reduced funding for the arts.

Wow went to see the one show at rep and wow wow wow what a show. I'll start with the venue. Absolutely fantastic place spacious seating space with the people on the row below low enough to see over tall people. Lots of bars with minimal queuing considering a large chunk of the 800 strong audience were in the bar areas which was spacious. Staff very quick and efficient, although I dropped my Cork leg when I paid 9.20 for 2 pints but a small price to pay for what was to be the best show I've ever seen. One show was just amazing with the ever formidable bob marley actor playing the part to a tee. Sounded like him, from lots of angles looked like him and got the voice spot on sounding like bob was singing himself. It was nice to put a story behind the meaning of the late great bob marley songs. The rest of the cast were entertaining and all songs sung were done with emotion, feeling and good old fashion Jamaican va va voom. Someone reviewed it as poor and lacking any real substance regarding bob marleys life story . But there were 36 years of the reggae masters life and a show about his later life watched in 2 and a half hours which wudnt do anyone's life justice. But in a way it was a celebration of a reggae 'jah' and the singalong at the end involving all of the audience had the place jumping and everybody standing and dancing. Starting with don't worry about a thing the audience were soon celebrating what was a brilliant, fun , meaningful and joyous occasion. I think the great man himself would have loved the simplicity , joy and love for him and in a way his fight for peace and freedom to all Jamaicans, all blacks and to world peace in general was celebrated in Jamaican carnival styley. Well done to all cast , crew members and venue staff.

I love this place. I walk through there every few days to or from the library of Birmingham. Last week though it was different. I didn't go to a show. I went to look at costumes. There was an auction them they sold the rest of the clothes
Beautifully made clothes for previous productions. There was the whole big friendly giant outfit including shoes. Roald Dahl great book turned into. Film. An orphan gets kidnapped and taken to. Foreign land filled with giants. Then there was the costume for Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll's famous book. I read that as a child, started making the costume for it in school then took sick and couldn't finish it. Here was the costume with the hat brimmed with apples inviting us to 'Eat Me. Then there was the horses costume from Wind in the willows which I used to read to my headteacher in primary school. Someone had a really great costume which we cared him to wear on broad Street. We helped him look for chain mail trousers to go with it. Then there was the young man who had some money left. He thought he found. Skunk but I'd seen a better one. So he was eternally greatful to me. costumes from different eras, various books, films and artefacts. The paintings and photos were not available. Everyone was dressing up. This day showed the skill of the designers. The Rep is a treasure trove of talent. Beginners to seasoned actors have been on their stages. I've been on behind the scene tours. I wished I could buy all the scenery and costumes. I could spend the next few years touring storytelling, dressing up. Then I day in the beautifully decorated foyer. Costumes hanging out of frames, playful furniture, bright colourful areas. Just sitting in the foyer can lift your spirits. Add a show to this experience and yours in heaven
