We enjoyed the handicap tour. My Mom was in a wheelchair and was still able to see much of the complex. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and willing to take questions.

Cool place with an amazing tour. Be ready for a trip into another world.
Biosphere 2 was fantastic and I highly recommend every person go visit. I had heard about it but to see it in person and walk around where they walked was so incredible. I can't believe 8 people had to train to take care of everything from the HVAC and all the mechanical equipment on the bottom of the Biosphere 2 to growing their own food and handling the things on the upper level. I saved some of the good stuff for those of you who haven't visited yet!
This is a GEM! Located north of Tucson, AZ. It is a tough visit with at least a mile walk tour and 150 steps. It runs on a tour where you visit the biom of ocean, desert, rain forest, savanna all under one enormous roof. It is now run by the University of Arizona. It is now an open
Laboratory as opposed to where it began as a closed environment with 6 volunteers who lived.in or. it ran for almost 2 years as a self contained environment. They raised their own food etc. In a nut shell it is I must visit.
Wanna know what our future holds? Scientists are studying the effects of man on the entite earth in one pinpoint. Believe it ! You will love it.
If you love the earth, science, desert views this is your place. Much more interesting than anticipated. Be warned, unless you are a confirmed desert lover don't go in the heat of summer. Be sure to take water. A lot of the tour is outside and requires quite a hike but well worth it.
Well worth the time and money. Extremely interesting to tour. Lots of different areas of the earth in one place. Amazing all of the things you have to have to live in a place other than earth. Seems we take a lot for granted living on our planet.
Lot of walking and stairs involved to see the Biosphere. Wanted to do lunch but you have to buy a ticket to get to the cafe.
Cool and entertaining! Skip the ocean tour. Not worth the $8 for 5 min talk about the plastic in the real ocean.
Interesting place to ponder the past and the future
What an amazing place to visit! Our guide was funny and informative. Our teenage son liked it too.
Our visit to the Biosphere 2 was very educational. All our questions were answered. We were comfortable temperature wise. Water was available as well as water bottle filling stations. The snack bar looked good, though we didn't partake. I learned that the bugs we traditionally think of as pollinators need UV light to find their food sources and the windows of the Biosphere filter that out, but that other pollinators stepped up. Lots of food for thought at the Biosphere 2
Such a cool escape. To be able to walk around a one of a kind place and experience so many different biomes under one roof is truly unique. Well worth the trip, but we wished the ticketing system was more efficient.
The Biosphere 2 is a fun, and unique learning experience. Observing the technology, earth science, and different climate zones is great fun. Many things to see, learn, and reflect upon during the tour - and lomg after. I would highly recommend to everyone. The best time to visit would be in the winter months, when the weather is perfect for both the tour, and exploration outside.
Nice place to learn something, worth to go at least once.
Been watching this for decades. Great to visit. Awesome projects.
Amazing and interesting place. Got some exercise and learned a lot!! I recommend it!
Highly recommend going here , the entrance fee helps with the understanding of how we are going to save the planet !!!!
Awesome place! It's an indoor self-supporting ecosystem!
Jungle, desert, ocean, and so much to see all in one spot in the middle of the Arizona desert. Take the tour it's worth it.
Great tour showcasing the science and work to discover how we can survive the future environment changes.
The Biosphere 2, a scientific masterpiece from the 80's, is by far one of the most interesting places you can visit in Tucson, Arizona. From the history of the experiments attempting to recreate life in a glass dome to the more modern tests being run today - the biosphere has an entire era of environmental research beneath its 6500 windows. Beyond the sheer size and ingenuity of the setup, the biosphere 2 and the struggles it has faced over time, give you a deeper insight into and appreciation for the wonders of the first biosphere: our earth.
What an incredible experience for our 8th graders!!! The visit was equally educational and adventurous. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for an excursion for youth.
Amazing facility. Highly recommend the guided tour. Note: they do have a gift shop and cafe. Enjoy
As a science geek I love it. As an engineer I marveled at it. A must see.
An awesome place. The facility is unique in the kind of reseach that can be done here since the environment can accurately be controlled. Many interesting scientific research are ongoing and the possibilities are endless.
Very educational way to spend a couple of hours in the Tucson area.
Beautiful bit of history. Teaches so much. Staff is great
A truly unique and amazing experience! I learned a lot on the tour! Definitely worth the drive. The architecture is also stunning.
A must to visit, take tours to hear and see details of what began as a living experiment. Walk through the closed ecological systems and imagine what it was like to be one of seven scientists living here for months to years. Now owned by University of Arizona.
Nice tour. Interesting science going on in there. Lots of walking.
This was a wonderful adventure. It was hot and a lot of walking but a great experience.
This is right up my alley, science and all. If you are not interested in this stuff the tour will still be informative and fun though. They take you though several different climates, nothing like walking through a door literally into another world. Go from sea scape to jungle and desert within minutes.
A good tour with beautiful scenery outside as well, wish there was more Biosphere souvenirs and not the same generic Arizona items found most other places.
Lots to see, the tour guide provides a lot of background information and answers questions. Decent amount of walking but has seating available at points of interest.
Amazing experience! Thank you for all the research you do!
I would have stayed all evening and into another day here. Fantastic what ASU is doing with this operational research facility.
Finally got to see Biosphere 2. Loved the tour and heading about what they're doing now to advance our scientific understanding of climate change.
A most fascinating place to visit! Our tour guide, Anita, was very educated and shared with us much on the history and current studies of the biosphere as well as the operations and details of utilities for the various functions of climate control within the facility. Overall it was a very rewarding adventure. Very much worth your time to visit!
Overall it was a great experience.. however, We weren't able to walk through the rainforest section of the campus. And that is a huge portion of the tour. Apparently they are in the middle of a 2 year drought study. I wouldn't have minded it so much if it had been mentioned to us prior... But it wasn't until well after we paid the entrance fees. And we still paid the full admission fees even though you don't get the entire tour. Not good business practice.
Very impressed with the Biosphere! The place is absolutely fascinating, and the guides were very knowledgeable! I would absolutely encourage anyone traveling between Phoenix and Tucson to stop and visit! Only disappointment: Budd & Doyle weren't there to greet us! ;)
Great informative place with awesome views of mt lemmon. Fun tour, cool plants and mechanical systems to see.
It's cool. Not literally because it's hot inside and outside of the building but the stuff inside is the cool part
Amazing place. Take the tour and really check out something spectacular.
Biosphere 2 is an amazing attraction for young and old alike. It is very interesting the way they put their tours together. You will get an in depth study of many different sciences regarding our life here on earth and the ability to sustain life on a different planet. I highly suggest comfortable shoes.
We took the 1 1/2 tour. It was full of information. I liked that we had hearing devices so I never missed anything our guide has to say. This is not a tour for anyone who needs aid in walking any distances.
Cool experiment and content. Definitely on the pricey side but worth it
Interesting to see the different environments. The tour guide went into more detail than was needed. Still worth a visit.
It was ok. Seemed a bit sad. They were doing some long term experiment on the ocean - and it was mostly dead.
Always a great day trip from Phoenix or worth a detour when visiting Tucson
The only place on Earth where you get to be in a simulation of the many varied climates of Earth in the name of science.
It is a wonder indeed for them to have embarked on such an endeavor in order to ensure the future of humanity is well taken care of. The tour is included with the ticket price, in which the guide helps to explain further the history behind Biosphere 2, as well as the science projects they are currently working on.
Worth a visit if you have not done so yet!
Enjoyable tour of Biosphere 2 operated by University of Arizona. Can be expensive based on the tours you decide to take. Very interesting as to the design and equipment required to create an environment where people lived and grew everything for a period of two years without leaving the facility.
Informative tour and interesting museum. Note it will take a few hours to take the tour and explore the open areas.
Amazing! Gives me hope for the future. Climate change is definitely real.
World class attraction. Unique. Great tours. Heavy on engineering and biology but light on social / people aspects. Worth it.
Amazing science adventure. Learn about one man's vision of living off planet and now the science of climate change.
This was amazing, and a great learning experience. My kids really enjoyed it. Just know there is A LOT of walking and stairs.
Awesome facility! If you love earth science this is a must see.
Amazing research ongoing to help all inhabitants of planet Earth.
Driving tour was nice . Excited to hear when walking tours are available.
Watched the movie"The Martian" with the magnificent biosphere 2 as a backdrop. What made the evening especially special was Mars was out shinning bright throughout the movie.
One of the coolest guided tours I've done. The engineering accomplishments you see here are incredible. You don't realize how impressive and complex it is until you walk through it.
Very interesting and informative tour. Lovely scenery to drive there too!
It was very interesting to learn about the history of this scientific oriented place, and about how some of the infrastructure there works, and about some of the scientific research that they are working on there.
I had an amazing tour guide who was very knowledgeable and polite. There were a lot of exhibits and experiments to see. I would highly recommend seeing it.
What an amazing science project at a scale us normals never see
Very interesting and educational. Plus beautiful architecture. Our tour guide was very good.
This could be the best place in the world to visit. It is so apocalyptic. If they just need invested a little more money and cleaned up the Sea exhibit they would have a gold mine.
Born in controversy, it became an early warning about Biosphere 1, our planet and is still being used to find solutions.
