Biosphere 2 was fantastic and I highly recommend every person go visit. I had heard about it but to see it in person and walk around where they walked was so incredible. I can't believe 8 people had to train to take care of everything from the HVAC and all the mechanical equipment on the bottom of the Biosphere 2 to growing their own food and handling the things on the upper level. I saved some of the good stuff for those of you who haven't visited yet!

This is a GEM! Located north of Tucson, AZ. It is a tough visit with at least a mile walk tour and 150 steps. It runs on a tour where you visit the biom of ocean, desert, rain forest, savanna all under one enormous roof. It is now run by the University of Arizona. It is now an open
Laboratory as opposed to where it began as a closed environment with 6 volunteers who lived.in or. it ran for almost 2 years as a self contained environment. They raised their own food etc. In a nut shell it is I must visit.

If you love the earth, science, desert views this is your place. Much more interesting than anticipated. Be warned, unless you are a confirmed desert lover don't go in the heat of summer. Be sure to take water. A lot of the tour is outside and requires quite a hike but well worth it.

Well worth the time and money. Extremely interesting to tour. Lots of different areas of the earth in one place. Amazing all of the things you have to have to live in a place other than earth. Seems we take a lot for granted living on our planet.

Our visit to the Biosphere 2 was very educational. All our questions were answered. We were comfortable temperature wise. Water was available as well as water bottle filling stations. The snack bar looked good, though we didn't partake. I learned that the bugs we traditionally think of as pollinators need UV light to find their food sources and the windows of the Biosphere filter that out, but that other pollinators stepped up. Lots of food for thought at the Biosphere 2

Such a cool escape. To be able to walk around a one of a kind place and experience so many different biomes under one roof is truly unique. Well worth the trip, but we wished the ticketing system was more efficient.

The Biosphere 2 is a fun, and unique learning experience. Observing the technology, earth science, and different climate zones is great fun. Many things to see, learn, and reflect upon during the tour - and lomg after. I would highly recommend to everyone. The best time to visit would be in the winter months, when the weather is perfect for both the tour, and exploration outside.

The Biosphere 2, a scientific masterpiece from the 80's, is by far one of the most interesting places you can visit in Tucson, Arizona. From the history of the experiments attempting to recreate life in a glass dome to the more modern tests being run today - the biosphere has an entire era of environmental research beneath its 6500 windows. Beyond the sheer size and ingenuity of the setup, the biosphere 2 and the struggles it has faced over time, give you a deeper insight into and appreciation for the wonders of the first biosphere: our earth.

A must to visit, take tours to hear and see details of what began as a living experiment. Walk through the closed ecological systems and imagine what it was like to be one of seven scientists living here for months to years. Now owned by University of Arizona.

This is right up my alley, science and all. If you are not interested in this stuff the tour will still be informative and fun though. They take you though several different climates, nothing like walking through a door literally into another world. Go from sea scape to jungle and desert within minutes.

A most fascinating place to visit! Our tour guide, Anita, was very educated and shared with us much on the history and current studies of the biosphere as well as the operations and details of utilities for the various functions of climate control within the facility. Overall it was a very rewarding adventure. Very much worth your time to visit!

Overall it was a great experience.. however, We weren't able to walk through the rainforest section of the campus. And that is a huge portion of the tour. Apparently they are in the middle of a 2 year drought study. I wouldn't have minded it so much if it had been mentioned to us prior... But it wasn't until well after we paid the entrance fees. And we still paid the full admission fees even though you don't get the entire tour. Not good business practice.

Very impressed with the Biosphere! The place is absolutely fascinating, and the guides were very knowledgeable! I would absolutely encourage anyone traveling between Phoenix and Tucson to stop and visit! Only disappointment: Budd & Doyle weren't there to greet us! ;)

Biosphere 2 is an amazing attraction for young and old alike. It is very interesting the way they put their tours together. You will get an in depth study of many different sciences regarding our life here on earth and the ability to sustain life on a different planet. I highly suggest comfortable shoes.

We took the 1 1/2 tour. It was full of information. I liked that we had hearing devices so I never missed anything our guide has to say. This is not a tour for anyone who needs aid in walking any distances.

The only place on Earth where you get to be in a simulation of the many varied climates of Earth in the name of science.

It is a wonder indeed for them to have embarked on such an endeavor in order to ensure the future of humanity is well taken care of. The tour is included with the ticket price, in which the guide helps to explain further the history behind Biosphere 2, as well as the science projects they are currently working on.

Worth a visit if you have not done so yet!

Enjoyable tour of Biosphere 2 operated by University of Arizona. Can be expensive based on the tours you decide to take. Very interesting as to the design and equipment required to create an environment where people lived and grew everything for a period of two years without leaving the facility.

It was very interesting to learn about the history of this scientific oriented place, and about how some of the infrastructure there works, and about some of the scientific research that they are working on there.
