Great atmosphere right on the Hudson river oh yeah the food was great too

What a beautiful view of the Hudson River ! Food was great ! We had the smoked chicken wings, st Louis ribs and the Mac n cheese grilled cheese sandwich. Wings were good, not spicy. My son loved the Mac n cheese, but said he would skip the bread next time. Ribs were flavorful, but on the drier side. There is sauce on the table, though. Sweet potato fries were perfect!

My friend had an ID that said she was 21 (not fake) and they called the police on her because it was expired because she couldn't go home due to being away at college. They let her in the previous week but called the police on her this week and were extremely rude. DO NOT GO TO PART HERE THEY ARE RUDE AND OVERCHARGE

Great spot, beautiful view, right on the water. Foods great, can't say that it's the best BBQ I've had but totally worth a visit you will not be disappointed. Great for duck lovers

I have been here many times. Good food. Lots of space and on the river. The place gets really busy. Arrive early or be prepared to wait for a table sometimes over an hour. It is a lively spot and at night they have live music. The valet parking is good. They are quick and convenient. Otherwise you can spend time looking for a spot.

First time visitor. Not very impressed. I got there just after they opened for lunch. I was perhaps one of only 3 tables that were seated. The first table had already been waited in and I was the next. Just me and the simplest order possible. Basic house salad and grilled salmon. Just about a half hour later still no food. The waiter came out twice looking more and more apologetic to let me know my order would be out. Right at a half hour I got up and had to leave because I had to get back to work. I went to the front and asked to change my order to a "to go" order. More waiting. Finally the manager had to go back to pack my order. More time passes and finally the waiter comes out with my order. I'm about to leave after paying and ... no cutlery so I have to wait for that. If this is what it's like when the place is literally empty I shudder to think how they are with a normal amount if patrons. They did have enough staff for empty. Assuming regular cooking crew, 2 wait staff, a front desk and a manager. Not cool guys.

Not only is the food fantastic but every customer is treated like a celebrity! If you are looking for the best restaurant THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

Went for Sunday lunch and it was as good as I remembered. Their food is fresh and tasty, the wait staff is great and the atmosphere is excellent. The place to go on a sunny day for a meal with a view over the beautiful Hudson River and surrounding Valley.

Food here is definitely not fresh. Only decent thing was the buffalo wings. Chicken, brisket, and ribs were mediocre at best. And the waiter (accidentally) dropped our credit card into the river.

Only good thing about this place is the outside seating when the weather permits.

Not a good BBQ joint.

The food was and reasonably priced for the serving size, the staff was courteous and efficient. Plenty of seating inside and out, there was even entertainment. We went on Tuesday night and Tuesday night is country night. All in all it was good food, good entertainment and we had some laughs. Looking forward to going back again.

Me and my wife had a wonderful time here for dinner tonight. The view is breathtaking. Our entrees were delicious especially the brisket, awesome flavor.
Service was very good too, the young man was very attentive. A manager came and checked in on us as well. Overall great experience. We will be back for sure!

Nice outside dining on the riverfront. Waitress was very pleasant and good was served within a reasonable amount of time. The food was good as well....not 5 star but good. I would recommend the smoked wings.

I was able to share the Porky Mac&Cheese serving with two friends. Delicious!

The food isn't particularly special - it is good - but the view and outdoor seating combined with a great beer selection makes this a great spot for a meal when the weather is nice.

Today we drove from Pennsylvania to meet another party (and their dog) from Massachusetts. We chose Billy Joe's as a halfway point and because they are listed on the Bring Fido site as being dog friendly. When we walked up to the seating desk, we were told that only service dogs are allowed. Either Billy Joe's or the Bring Fido site were not clear about this stipulation. It ended well and we ended up having a very nice meal with our dog at the River Grill a mere block away.

The view, awesome staff and food make it. However, it's a popular place especially during the good weather seasons. Plan ahead and be prepared to wait if you going during holidays or popular dining times/days. The staff works hard to get people in and out but I realize not everyone is as patient so it's good to know ahead.

One star for food quality and taste.
Everything was precooked and warmed out.
Dry meat drowning in tons of souse.
They brought me a wrong cut instead of ordered skirt stake, and only when I noticed, they admitted that they are out of skirt stake.
It's a shame.
Beautiful view, great location, lovely waitress.
For this kind of food - overpriced.

This place is a favorite of mine! Anytime im up here this is the place to go! The salad is probably my favorite item on the menu! Would recommend to anyone passing by in the area!

I'd do four and a half if I could. The environment was calm, but lively enough to to keep a social environment social. The karaoke was far enough way to think, yet close enough for entertainment purposes, and the service was done with a smile; the food was serviced fast too.

They lost a star on the food itself. While the beef-brisket was tender and well flavored, the ribs were not the best I've had. The meat was tougher to get off of the bone than you'd expect, yet the flavor was there.

All in all, I'd recommend it.

Food and drinks are always good and very consistent. Bands are usually good depending on taste. During the hotter parts of the year, it's a great place to sit outside and smell the water.

The outside would have been great but the bees were too much and forced us inside. Wait staff is friendly and food is good. The view is the best part.

Came here with a couple of friends and we took over the parking lot with exotic cars. We enjoyed our lunch while we were laughing and telling stories about the ride up there.

Food, staff, and atmosphere are amazing here. Hands down the best barbecue this side of the Hudson!

Food is pretty good, portions are kinda huge. Nightlife is fun if you like a big crowd. Live bands aren t too bad, the Dj is pretty good and drama is usually at a minimum with all of the security they have.

It's awesome to sit on the deck right on the river! In nice weather everybody else wants to do this too, so parking is hard, and service kinda slow (not a complaint- they hustle but get slammed).Food is good, not great, but the view is worth it! We prefer coming during the day when we can because it's quieter, and same view :)

Service was good, the waiter answered all questions, very helpfull when we were deciding on what to order. Food was very good.

I had the rack of ribs and beans ribs still had the membrane on the back and they have Pepsi products my daughter had the pork and mac & cheese, very large portion and good ,wife had the sliders were also good ,had the simple platter for abd app , large and good with nice section to try but no ribs on it

Cornbread doubles as a murder weapon. Besides being soaked in liquid smoke the meats are completely flavorless. While topped with a savory and sweet Bbq sauce if you ask for a extra sauce you get a completely different vinegary salty (slop) sauce. Sides were all edible but nothing to impressive. While drinks are poured heavily. Service is had to come by. Im sure the wait staff struggle to pick thier see through spandex shorts out in between actually serving tables.

Food service and atmosphere were all top notch tables outside on the Hudson River 3 of us had dinner and when ever in the area will be going back

Known for thier wings...stick with the wings. The ribs I had were full of fat globules, yet the meat was over done and dry....counter intuitive I know! Very nice views of the Hudson river on nice days saves this place fom being completely horrible.

Go on a Tuesday for line dancing! While most of the menu is meat forward, there are several dishes suitable for vegetarians or healthy eaters.

Great atmosphere, especially during the summer with it being right on the water! The food isn't anything to write home about, but the night life is awesome! A little bit on the expensive side, though.

I'm from New Jersey and it's been a rough year for everyone with everything going on; COVID, Social Injustice, and Joe Biden. My college friend has lived in the Hudson Valley for years and whenever I go to see him we always stop by the best BBQ place around. Billy Joe's Ribworks is back open and I enjoyed a great dinner with an even better view this past Wednesday. We had exceptional Calamari as an appetizer with a variety of mixed drinks, namely the western sunset and red sangria. The beef ribs are the best ive ever had and I used to be a cook. Mac and cheese, beans and pork were also on point as usual.

Honestly, probably the best barbecue I've had since I moved up from the south. The greens and baked beans were incredibly good, and the view was downright perfect.

I came to Billy Joe s for the first time for lunch and drinks yesterday with some coworkers of mine. Our time there was amazing to say the least. The food was exceptional and there was options for everybody s taste, as well as the drinks. Our server Ryan was extremely kind and attentive and made our time spent there even more enjoyable! All in all a great spot! Will definitely be returning!

Great place to have a good meal. They have entertainment all week long. Each night they have something specific. Karaoke, Latin night, line dancing, and live bands on the weekends.

Hard to say that this place is good but the view by the water is what got the extra star from me. Now the food on the other hand is lacking several points. Between my wife and I we ve been there at least 7 times and the only thing I can say I would go back there for is the Porky Mac. The last time they got money out of us the brisket was horrible and had to send it back. They tried to please me and sent out more horrible brisket. The cornbread is a no go as well. I just don t think I will be back. The staff is ok but the highlight is the outdoor seating by the water and sometimes the live music.

The outdoor area closed earlier than I would like but they let us sit at the bar on the dock. The food is just average but the drinks are good and the view is hard to beat.

Food was good but the manager Andrew was extremely unprofessional and rude.
