I made a mistake when ordering my sons sandwich and was handed a very rude response from the man making the sandwich. Still mad I gave them my money. Won't be back.
Love their bread. So soft.
I usually have the turkey bacon avocado.
My husband likes the French dip.
I tried a bowl of lobster bisque. I can't recommend it.
No comparison to Subway, definitely my favorite sub shop in town
Have been here twice and have ordered onion bread but both time have gotten plane :(
Always great food and great service. I love the fresh sandwiches and yummy paninis. I have been to a few other big towns out of Albany and they just aren t the same.
This one is ok the One in the Mail is A Little nicer.
I walked into the shop and greeted the two employees who were in the back but visible over a partition. They both eyeballed me and said nothing and went back to looking down (presumably on their phones). I took a few moments to review the menu, and walked up to the counter, and was ignored until I called out and asked for assistance. Food was so-so, but came out quickly enough. While waiting, another customer came in and the expression and service from the employee taking the order was that of someone being being extremely inconvenienced by having to do their job. Won't be returning.
We have eaten here many times! Always sandwiches for us, ALWAYS DELICIOUS, always friendly, and we love it. THE BREAD IS TO DIE FOR!! It's perfectly fresh, unbelievably soft, and so very delicious. I'm Italian ... I LOVE my bread.
So this is like the 3rd time I've come here to an attitude at the counter. The sandwiches are always fine but I'm not going back to a place I feel I'm putting someone out to take my order. Not my fault you work a minimum wage job in a sandwich shop.
If your looking for a great sandwich this is the place. The bread is amazing. Every sandwich shop bakes bread but this one actually makes it from scratch every day. I like the Italian and classic club.
Food is good so that's where the 1 star comes from.
Its good but not great
The customer service is the worst in town.
I won't ever be back.
Rude.
I love the sandwiches here and the service is usually fast and friendly. Best sandwich shop bread.
Some of the worst food I've ever had. My girlfriend ordered a sandwich, the lettuce was brown, next to no tomatoes, there were no sauces, the meat was terrible. They gave me the wrong salad, and when I took it back they didn't replace it, they just took stuff off of it, the lettuce was limp, the meat was so wet I think it just came out of the can. So my advice, don't waste your money here.
They make some great sandwiches here. They are located in the mall so you have to go inside to order.
The sandwiches are unreal good. Super fresh, just baked bread makes the sandwich awesome.
Great sandwiches on fresh bread. Quick service for custom food.
This place is close to my work, and I have tried it a few times. Disgusting every single time. I got a fresh salad the first time and the lettuce was brown, slimy, and tasted sour. I asked for a refund thinking surely it was just a mistake, and gave them another chance weeks later. Same. Today I went in during my lunch, and ordered a similar salad. Yuck. Are u kidding me? Brown, slimy, sour tasting lettuce? AGAIN!? Not only did I vomit, I didn't bother taking it back to get a refund. Keep the money, I'll never eat there again. Hopefully i do not get food poisoning.
What a great shop, the bread fresh, sandwichs that are delicious, gracious staff and about the ONLY place open in downtown Albany on a Monday!
The woman taking orders at the counter was incredibly rude to both my wife and the customer preceding her for absolutely no reason. We won't be coming back to this restaurant.
I took my ex here to break up with her. She spit on my sandwich. I threw my soda in her face. I stubbed my toe on the way out.
The girls there are awesome! And they make a great sandwich.
Walked in and was greeted by Alicia. She was so nice and patient as I took forever trying to decide what I wanted. She was very friendly and my food came out quickly. Alicia needs a raise!
Christy took my order and had a very poor attitude. She was impolite and seemed annoyed when I asked general questions about the sandwiches I was ordering. Other than that I love the food here.
Yummy sandwiches and excellent friendly speedy service.
They know me by name. My orders have always been correct and have never had a bad experience. The prices are fair and have a quick turn around from the moment you order and when you receive your food.
The customer service was terrible, stood there at the counter for at least 3 minuets with people in the kitchen literally starring at me.
Then when the girl walks out from
The little kitchen see says very annoyed like can I help you? YEs Maam we d like to order a sandwich..
Forever going to the BTH in the mall
Good but not great. If a Subway were next door, I doubt I would ever go here again, because you are essentially paying more money for less food. Subway makes the sandwich in front of you and gives you the option for numerous additions where Big Town Hero only has about 4 things they put on sandwiches and don't ask for your input.
That being said, I like supporting a local business instead of a big chain, and their sandwiches are still very tasty. They also have a card system where you get a free sub after you buy 10, a system Subway did away with so BTH gets bonus points in that regard. Still, the value isn't that great when compared to Subway as you are paying 40% more for 75% of the food, and the quality is similar.
