I been going to Big Texas north for a long long time. The place is starting to show it's age inside and out but the dancing has always and is great. Free lessons on Wednesday night draws a great crowd of good people. Staff is always friendly and free popcorn and cold water is available for those who don't drink.
Great place for country music and dancing. Good beer selection. Good service, fairly inexpensive comparatively. Not a country music fan and I still had fun.
Really disappointed in having to Update my review November 2rd
Tonight my girlfriend got over serving, she order something and the lady screw it up, gave her doubles, the price should of been 3.00 for what she order the price she paid (17.50) the mger help us and took it down to 3 dollars, but said to keep what they gave us, so she didn t let it go to waste, she can hardly walk, or stay awake, we Uber home!!!!
It was amazing!!! The only thing that would of made it better would of been if they food. The staff was amazing! Only issue I have is that leaving a bar you should be allowed to take the bottle of water (4.00$ x 2) we had to throw it away.....
LOVE LOVE LOVE going there! It's been many years since I have had a girl's night out! It's also been many years since I have gone to a club...I kept thinking I'm too old to be out dancing with my son's age group lol..... I was pleasantly surprised to immediately see that I wasn't the oldest there! YES!!!! Big Texas is definitely THE ONLY place to go for 21+...or is it 18+?
In all honesty, I'm excited now knowing that there is an extremely safe, fun place that is close to home for many more girl's night out! I think it's pretty cool how 3 and 4 decades of age difference under one enormous roof, while consuming alcohol didn't have disturbance. I'm thinking it's because all of us who go actually have been taught the good Southern way. I'm sure just like all dance clubs with an eclectic mass of people in one building there have been and more and likely will be an issue here and there which is normal. I never saw any type of disrespectful behavior or anyone blowing their stack for whatever reason.....that's one reason why for a 5 star review. Every staff member I encountered were great! Drinks are priced right, a food truck just outside, tons of security, Ladies Nights and valet parking is also available. I need to coordinate another girl's night out soon or invite everyone I know, meet up, have a few good drinks, dance and have fun! I've been to a lot of clubs throughout Houston and the surrounding areas since I was 18 (I'll be 42 in October); Big Texas in my opinion rates #1 in my book for memorable fun times! Y'all all need to check it out if you haven't already!!!!!
Ladies free all night Wednesdays, which happens to also be a great night for dancing and it can get crowded! Cheap drinks, friendly people. As with most dance halls, there is often a more mature crowd the earlier you go and a younger one after midnight. Thursdays can be kinda dead. There's concerts many Fridays which can be a lot of fun.
Military gets in Free. Amazing service. Beautiful Employees. Perfect Drink prices. Awesome dance floor. Amazing space. Awesome Pool Tables. Great location for late night food spots( Food stand, Denny s, Taco Bell, and more). Outstanding variety of music.
Cheap drinks and a big dance floor! The music varies each visit and sometimes is better than others. It seems the earlier you go the more old school country is played. I love how close it is to home and a fun place to practice dancing.
this place is always great on wednesdays but tonite they had an awfull DJ... he did a very good gob of keeping people off the dance floor with his bad choices even though we made some recomendations... his arrogant attitude would not take any suggestions, so we'll make sure not to go when he is playing.
Cool dance hall with reasonable drinks prices. Live music can be hit or miss, but the people watching is always amazing.
