First time rafting and it was great! Did the upper river and Cole was a great guide. Be aware that doing the lower is basically floating down river.

Had so much fun, the staff is great and even make a boring safety's breifing fun. We had Cameron as our guide and he made everything seem easy. Highly recommend them!
Our family rafted the Lower Pigeon River this past Tuesday and we all had an awesome afternoon! It was our girls (age 4 and 6) first time whitewater rafting and we could not have picked a better company to do so! From the booking process over the phone, to checking out in the shop post trip, all of the staff we encountered were friendly, kind and professional. Our guide, Webb, was fantastic. He was fun, knowledgeable, and so patient and encouraging with our littles. He loves his job and let me tell you, it shows. Our experience was top notch. We will absolutely be back when we visit the Smokies again. Thank you, Big Bear Rafting!
All of the tour guides, bus driver, and office workers were extremely friendly and funny. I had a great time on the rapids and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
The bus guide was great and so was the raft guide. The river had 1 section 4 and was mostly section 3s. There is a part where they let you ride the front of the raft and call it "riding the bull" which was really cool. They also let us get out and swim for a sec during a calm section of the river.. We were equipped with all necessary safety equipment and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend to anyone who is a first time rafter or has been multiple times. HAVE FUN!
Due to a miss-communication with the wife we ended up double booked, one through Groupon and one Direct. Five minutes after booking direct and finding out what had happened I called back and asked for a refund. The gentlemen on the phone told me he didn't think he could do that and talked to his supervisor. He returned and confirmed that he could not give me a refund even though our trip isn't for another month. I asked to speak to the supervisor and he obliged and I was put on the phone with a lady. The lady was rude and told me that "it wasn't her problem" and that she couldn't give me a refund because it would cost her money. I was put off by this and rather than lose my cool I got off the phone. However the wife called back and spoke with them and they said they would cancel the bookings and refund her the next day without a fight. Furthermore the confirmation e-mail clearly states that they do in fact offer refunds within a certain time frame. This really makes me angry. At no point was there any offer of apology, an admission of being wrong or having incorrect info, nothing. I would really like to know why I was treated like garbage and refused a refund and my wife was offered one without incident. I have worked in customer service for 25 years and if I had ever treated a customer in such a way I would have been handed my walking papers. Feeling discriminated against.
It was so much fun. We did the upper river with 6 people, ages 32-67 and we all had a blast. Cody was a great guide and made the trip even more fun. All the the staff was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic. The team leader was hilarious and the bus driver kept us entertained while they loaded and unloaded boats. Great experience.
