I had an awesome time here during my first visit to Hoboken. The staff seemed very competent and professional, and the food and beer were an excellent value for the money (you certainly won't leave feeling hungry or thirsty!). I was worried I wouldn't get good service with so many people there, but it wasn't bad at all. It was noisy, but not intolerable.

First restaurant date (with my wife) since COVID q...

First restaurant date (with my wife) since COVID quarantine, we enjoyed a Sunday afternoon out here in Hoboken, once the vibrant hub of weekend social life, at this time, last weekend in July, a low key and fractured restaurant scene struggling for recovery.

Outdoor dining, shoulders against the bare brick exterior walls of the restaurant, not much of a view towards the NY side, NY out of view, Jersey City Heights in view from the east looking west. Warehouse view to the north.

Great to get out and enjoy something different, we played a little German accordion music via YouTube for mood. Being a pescatarian, formerly a vegetarian, and with nothing interesting in the way of fish on the menu, I opted for the pierogi platter which were lightly deep fried and are offered as an appetizer. I wasn't famished and it was fine as a meal, about a dozen pieces and very tasty, wouldn't want to eat deep fried food every day, but once in a blue moon can't do too much damage to your arteries. My wife went with the Brautwurst which she said was scrumptious and can with a large serving of french fries, but only a scanty one piece of sour dough bread. The fries were a marvelous few steps ahead of the McDonalds variety.

Service was acceptable but not totally on point, not enough though to detract from the meal. We felt safe enough, wore our face masks until we settled in, as did the staff, spaced out about 10 feet from the nearest neighbors.

The restaurant jaunt lightened the weekend up and made for a good transition out of the tight quarantine we have been under into one that is safe but still allows for a little bit of living. Closest thing to a date in the past few months was shopping at Wegman's.

We aren't drinkers but plenty of beers here as well as $10 per mixed drinks of generous portions. Total bill with tip came to about $37, with no desert and two unsweetened ice teas, my wife had to beg for some sugar which seemed to be a tall order but finally showed up. The unsweetened iced tea was tasty and refreshing. Most that come to the Biergarten seem to come for the bier, with a side order of food. A place like that has got to be fun. Good to get out!

Cool beirgarden. Tuesday half price night for cash is a great deal. Food is quite good. The beer selection is solid and the old warehouse vibe is warm and inviting. Good place to meet with larger groups gets very crowded at peak times.

Great place and wonderful food. However I must comment on the music being played, I had the displeasure of having to listen to the worst playlist of all time being blasted out of the speakers which made the experience somewhat unpleasant. I know this is all a matter of opinion but who the hell plays Hinder in 2018 at a hip Biergarten?

It is truly a neat place. First of all, let me write about the park, parking is available. There is a curb at the front. There is a garden in front when you enter. There were nylon igloos because I was going winter. The interior is large, spacious ceiling height is very good. The location is child friendly. It is the perfect place for families with small babies. The best thing is that you can sit where you like. Food is excellent, beer variety is also very good. In short, an authentic looking place. The music is super ....

Come here almost every week since it opened about 10 years ago. Love it. One star just to voice my disgust over the loud and most obnoxious RAP we had to suffer through last time. Please fix it. Still love the place.
Well, the owner replied and the music was good and not loud the next time. Going from 1 star to 3. The next bummer - the same waitress as last time was serving us and INCLUDED 20% TIP into the bill (5 people) Let's see how it goes the next visit. We are not giving up!

Servers are a little dumb and the food's not exactly authentic, but it is tasty and the beer selection is excellent. Packed with bros on the weekend but big enough space so it doesn't matter too much.
