Bethlehem Haven: Providing Shelter and Support for Women in Need
Bethlehem Haven is a non-profit organization that has been providing shelter and support to women in need for the past 36 years. Founded in 1980, Bethlehem Haven has become a beacon of hope for women who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, mental illness, or addiction.
The mission of Bethlehem Haven is to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can rebuild their lives. The organization offers a range of services including emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management, counseling, job training, and healthcare referrals.
One of the key strengths of Bethlehem Haven is its commitment to providing individualized care. Each woman who comes through the doors is treated with respect and dignity. Staff members work closely with each resident to develop a personalized plan that addresses her unique needs and goals.
Over the years, Bethlehem Haven has helped thousands of women get back on their feet. In fact, the organization has provided nearly 13,000 nights of shelter every year since it first opened its doors. However, despite this impressive track record there is still much work to be done.
The need for affordable housing continues to grow across the country as more families struggle with poverty and unemployment. In Pittsburgh alone there are over 2 million people living below the poverty line - many of whom are single mothers or elderly women living on fixed incomes.
To address this growing need Bethlehem Haven has launched several new initiatives in recent years including an outreach program that provides support services to homeless individuals living on the streets; an employment program that helps residents find jobs; and a permanent supportive housing program that provides long-term housing solutions for those who have completed their stay at one of Bethlehem Haven's shelters.
Despite these challenges Bethlehem Haven remains committed to its mission - providing hope and healing for those who need it most. If you're looking for ways to get involved or support this important cause please visit our website today!
