I was a child resident of Bethany children's home in the early 80's. It was a great opportunity for me, I was just young & dumb and didn't appreciate what bethanys children home offered me. I was emancipation at age 16 , moved away from Pennsylvania. I moved to Georgia. At age 20 I bought my 1st and only home, it's now mortgage free. I am 52 yrs old now. My 2children are 32& 25. I read the recent reviews about Bethany from children & staff.
I would luv to teach these children my experiences. Positive role model. But moving back to Pennsylvania from Georgia ( no snow!!)
The desk clerk at a truck stop makes $13 an hour in Georgia, and to come to Pennsylvania and work with youth for $14.., the math doesn't add up. The cooks at Bethany children's home, make more money than the employees taking daily care of the precious children, they have more influence on them mentally & physically.
They should be paid much more.. under valued & under appreciated. It wasn't a non profit organization when I lived there, it was state run facility. Maybe that makes all the difference?
Work related visit. Friendly great staff. Can t really comment on anything else. Beautiful scenery around the facility though.
Bethany was a life-changing experience for me. I met a lot of people that enriched my life.
My roommates, my house mother and father and all the staff. I was able to experience new things and exposed to new ideas. My stay at Bethany was one of my happiest times in my life. I think God for the experience.
Was there for 5 years . Good place to have for kid's in trouble or no where to go. 75-80
I went to Bethany for a few months about 5 or 6 years ago. I was bad as hell lmaoo but most the staff was amazing, understanding, caring. I had a lot of fun in Bethany and there are staff members I ll never forget ps. Srry for destroying the kitchen that one time I was mad af
Change my life for the better. Was there for four years and it was the safety place for me. I went through each step and was able to get a high school diploma. I was able to learn how to survive this cold wicked world. And also taught me how to be more accountable for my actions. And think before I make any big decisions. Also made me more productive throughout my day. And taught me great cleanliness. I didn t have a choice when I was younger to be there but I am grateful I was.
Um bad communication. There are great staff here though. I just wish that the Administration will be better with making appointments. But the staff here are fair and kind and they will support you at all times. And it fair here most of the time. Plus im a youth.
never went yet, but im about to, so im hoping i have a great time.
Bethany Children's Home: Providing a Safe Haven for Vulnerable Children
Bethany Children's Home is a non-profit organization that has been providing care and support to vulnerable children since 1863. The mission of the organization is to provide a safe place of nurture, protection, and supportive care to aid its residents.
