Our school board is a joke. Unfortunately the district will never over come its reputation of being a failure to our kids.
At one point In Time the Bernalillo Public School District was centered on what was most important, the children, the families, cultures/communities. This made the school district special because they believed In Keeping what was so meaningful to the community. Such a shame how things have changed.
The strong sense of community in this district is palpable. Administration works very hard to support teachers, students, and all other stakeholders. Teachers are trained in cultural awareness and sensitivity due to the broad range of backgrounds from which families derive. Teachers strive to support students outside of school by organizing food banks, participating in sporting events, and reaching out to families at risk or in need.
