I d like to tell you the vegetables are great, but I can t enter here without buying coconut haystacks and macaroon almonds.

It s kinda like what you imagine Whole Foods wanted to be before they went big.

Lovely place

There is the Berkeley Bowl, Monterey Market, and a number of small, but excellent produce markets. We are seriously spoiled in Berkeley. It forces even Safeway to carry good produce, but the Bowl and Monterey go beyond quality to the interesting and exotic. Some Berkeley writer needs to develop a series with a foodie detective who cooks with some of this stuff-- recipes and advice included!

I never thought I would be a starry-eyed, evangelizing, obsessed fan of a grocery store, but that was before I found Berkeley bowl. This place is so much better than any other grocery store, it's unbelievable. Huge selection of high quality produce including stuff that's hard to find, conscientious business choices, and totally affordable.

For the last ten years living in Berkeley, one of our major criteria for picking an apartment has been proximity to Berkeley Bowl. Sure, it has great produce, family-friendly prices, huge variety, good morning buns, etc., but I also enjoy just standing in line, seeing the range of people who work and shop here. Very Berkeley place.

Local, affordable market. They care about their employees and give them the holidays off, which is nice. Amazing selection of nuts, oatmeal, grains, fruits, vegetables, etc. Gets pretty crowded and parking is limited.

Best grocery store, period. Produce is on par with the best I can get at farmers market and reasonably priced. Prepared foods super delish. Parking and navigating the aisles here requires (monk like) patience with your fellow humans, so be prepared.

Berkeley Bowl is really cosey type of place, feels and is a community grocer for what they are meant to be. Pricing a tad bit high however they do have coffee and fresh bread so, you get what you pay for. Overall good vibes here.

I love Berkeley bowl, it has fresh vegetables, healthy meat selection, and fish, the products to clean your place is eco friendly. I choose Berkeley bowl over whole foods , trader Joe's, Safeway, and lucky's. It's #1 in my book always will be.

I was just there yet again. And for kicks I bought some fresh dates when I saw them in the phenomenal produce section. I love her a lot and something like that happens. Who knows maybe I love them fresh...

This Berkeley Bowl doesn't have as good a selection as the one on Heinz, and I find shopping here to be a stressful experience. The people in the parking lot are always acting crazy and the inside of the building feels messy.
