Had the fortunate experience of staying at the Benmiller several times. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and amazing breakfast. The only suggestion I'd have would be to include a mini-fridge in the rooms. I was there for work and like to bring some healthy snacks that need to be refrigerated.

This happened years ago but my wife surprised me with a weekend getaway to the Ben Miller. When we arrived we were told that we had to stay in another building as there was a wedding going on in the main building. When we arrived at the room it was not very clean and run down, the furniture looked like garage sale items, not antique or vintage as described. The tub and sink had stains but the topping on the cake was when my wife pulled the sheets back on the bed and said "Oh my God"... there was a cum stain right in the middle of the bed. Most disgusting experience ever staying somewhere.
We first arrived much earlier than our check in time because we were unsure if we were in the right place and we were hoping the front desk staff could direct us of activities in the area. The front desk staff was very rude upon our early arrival and not very helpful when we asked about nearby beaches. The staff when we returned for our actual check in was better. The room was nice but there was a ton of bugs and moths in the room which wasn't pleasant. The food was also very expensive, dinner for two was $140 with one appetizer and water for drinks, two mains and two desserts. The food was good but not that great considering it was $30 for each main. I would go back again but I wouldn't eat at the restaurant again.
Wonderful accommodations and Masterful cooking at the Ivy Lounge! Great view from our Spa room, thoroughly indulgent holistic spa experiences, and quality amenities, hot tub, jacuzzi and swimming pool.
My husband and I recently got married at the Benmiller Inn & Spa. I don't have enough positive things to say about this place and our experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating (especially given the short amount of time we had to plan the wedding), the food was delicious, the wedding venue itself was stunning, and it great value for money. Highly recommend this amazing inn and spa for a getaway or wedding venue!
The review is for the RESTAURANT only. The place is lovely and peaceful, surrounded by nature, trees, tiny river. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, very generous portion. Expensive but worth it. Smoked Hen was amazing. Korean BBQ Ribs were yummy, however overcooked a bit (hard to cut and to chew especially on the edges). Drinks were super. I loved Pineapple Amaretto Martini. The only down side is the service. Once we arrived the blond girl hasn t smiled once. She was cold and robotic. At the end we tipped her 15% but she had an unhappy face. Please, remember that in a restaurant business, the service is more important than food (it is true).
What a great inn, just 2 1/2 hours from Toronto. We were here once eleven years ago and coming back this weekend was a real treat. The staff at the spa were experiment and knowledgeable which we throughly enjoyed. The rooms homey and comfortable not to mention the soft and comfy mattress. The indoor pool area is beautiful and the sun shines through the glass walls. there is even a walk out to a sun deck (weather permitting). The grounds are mature and beautiful and the property is set on the Maitland River. Breakfast starts with this glorious homemade scones served with blueberry jam (also homemade)! The restaurant has wonderful and accommodating staff and the menu has a good array of choices. We did a hike on the maitland river trail and blue loop which was excellent! The town is Goderich is close by which is a great little town rich with history and a beautiful shoreline and boardwalk . Hfy recommend this as a weekend getaway !
Beautiful architectural details and landscape. Warm customer service. Outstanding food at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the rooms are not kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
We stay here every year for our anniversary. Usually we enjoy it. This year we had a mouse in our room! We found mouse poop by the fridge and under the garbage. We fought to get a discount and only recieved $17 off our food. They made no effort to earn back our trust and confidence in them, which is too bad because we have been loyal up until now.
