It's ok, do it but it's not amazing. I was allowed to bring my dog on it though, so that was very cool. Bonus points for that!

Took a trip out to the Bendigo Tramways depot yesterday. These guys are Austraila' and possibly the world's leaders in tram restoration. Took a self guided tour of the workshop including donning the hard hat for a walk into the pit to see the running gear from below.
Great to see the cross promotion going on between the Tramways and the Bendigo Woolen Mills. You can now access each from the other as they have opened a gate in the fence between the 2. So you can catch a tram to the depot and then spend some time sifting through all that the Mill has to offer. Or you can drive to the Mill and then hop over and visit the Tramways. A great idea which gives the whole family something to see and do.
Loved our visit and journey on the Bendigo Trams ... only letdown was the passing of Birney the Cat.
Nice and easy way to discover Bendigo. Trams are very stylish.
Great atraction childrens santa tram fantastic for the kids
Awesome experience, do the Blues Tram its a fantastic gig, love it!
Rode this to the gold mine and back during a day trip. Loved every second of riding on the heritage tram and listening to the information on the speakers. Watched the driver and conductor swap the trolley wire around and fun to talk to them too. It was definitely worth the travel from Seymour to get here will come back one day!
Anybody who loves trams and history make sure you go there. Park the car get a 2 day pass ride trams see the sites around Bendigo.
Always a great time on the Santa tram. Highly recommended for all ages
Very fun! I liked the fact that traveling in different directions gives you versions of the tour. Incredibly charming and the hospitality was so welcoming!
Greeted on arrival. Knowledgeable guide. Fantastic yarn bombed tram.
Didn't spend much time there but met Burney the resident cat
The range of trams was stunning. The staff where so friendly. Service was paramount. The tram ride was stunning. Like nothing else in Victoria!
Interesting. Gave a good overview of some things to see. Very pleasant people on team and at stops.
Bendigo tramway is a wonderful little museum, with the history written on the walls and the drivers, workers and volunteers all being very lovely and welcoming, took a rude on the talking tram number 17 and was not disappointed. Defiently worth it! And not too expensive either!
Excellent tour of the working restoration workshop for these historic tramway carriages.
Nice way to see and hear some of Bendigo's history.
I took the free self guided tour, not much is free these days, well worth a look if you're interested in the history of Bendigo, or even take a ride on a fully restored piece of history.
We had a great time enjoyed our journey and learnt lots of new history about the area. Highly recommended for visitors to Bendigo and locals as well.
Had a ball! We ended up doing the loop twice each day...........would recommend a ride for sure even if your not "into" trains/trams.
The ride is worth it by itself but as a bonus you actully learn something about the area!
Keep up the great work guys!
Drove in after seeing sign on main road. After a quick Look around we are approached by tram driver John. Even tho it was a self guided tour John showed us all the trams explained history of them all and took us around. Was very helpful and informative.
Very friendly and easy to navigate, a short and simple hop on hop off 'bus' substitute with historical accurate finishings. the staff seemed genuinely proud to be there and share their knowledge. More of an experience than viable transport though so probably suggest as one way trip from gold mine end to tram museum
Most interesting not only history but restoration programs !!
we had a great time travelling on the tram the talking tram gave great information and stopped at interesting places
Well worth a visit. The ttam tour is very interesting and a bit of fun.
Unfortunately it can be a bit hard to hear the narrative at times.
great experience ride on the old tram n visit to the tram work shop
Loved the old 4wh tram we rode on through beautiful Bendigo! Kids had a ball !
Wonderful ~ totalling unique experience. Highly recommended.
Outstanding! If you go to Bendigo this is one thing you have to do.
I went on the Talking Tram Tour with my wife and two kids. The experience was amazing, the staff were a delight and also really helpful.
My wife and I found ourselves in a difficult position due to having two young children and a double pram. The tram driver was kind enough to take the pram from me and put it on the tram while my family took our seats.
My 2 year old son had such an amazing time on the tram that we almost ended up riding it 3 times end to end.
I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for an enjoyable time out with a bit of education thrown in for good measure.
Fantastic display of historic trams from Victoria and Other States. The quality of the restoration work is excellent. it is regrettable that nore of the original network could not be preserved.
The Talking Tram is a 'must-do' in Bendigo. But don't do it because of that, do it because its fun, informative and entertaining for multiple generations.
Well worth a visit and ride staff very pleasant and helpful
We recently visited the Tramways Depot in Bendigo. The staff on duty were extremely helpful and their customer service skills were exemplary. The volunteers who spend countless hours restoring the trams are to be admired for their skill and dedication. It is reassuring to know that my grandchildren will have the opportunity to enjoy these Trams, well into the future. Thank you to all concerned for a pleasant experience. The mine tour you recommended was fantastic.
I just loved it , heaps of different historic trams that travel the cities main street, a great way to discover this cities beautiful buildings
Must do to get a bit of local history. Don't baulk at the price.... just do it
Fun tram ride and a history lesson of Bendigo. A short stop and a wander around the tram workshop
Friendly staff and a FANTASTIC attraction for tourists wanting to get a great view of this beautiful city. The tram museum is so fascinating to see the different types of trams from around the world and actually get to go inside them.
If you can get a ticket for the Blues Tram, DO IT! It's so much fun and they always get great acts from local and abroad!
Good way to get your bearings in Bendigo. Plenty of history on the area
Great place especially for tram enthusiasts!! 10/10
great walk down history lane for tram lovers...mechanic lovers..and engineers
Bendigo Tramways Talking Tram experience was great, an excellent way to learn some history of Bendigo whilst enjoying a ride on an exceptionally restored old tram.
The whole experience was awesome from the singing sales person at the depot to the very knowledgeable friendly conductors and drivers.
a great day for the whole family well worth the cost.
Worth to hop on and off for a whole day or 2 days. Can get Tram tickets at Info centre.
Great tour very good value. Very informative and tram drivers are very good and seem to love what they do. Highly recommend

A fun and interesting museum - well worth a visit - the museum shop is well run.
Great spot to visit lots of history friendly staff and most of all an enjoyable ride on a vintage tram.
Called in to have a brief look, and WOW what a collection of historical trams. The lovely OLD GREY HAIRED GENTLEMAN,ithink his name was Michael gave us the royal tour, his knowledge was amazing, thank you highly recommend it
Such a wonderful way to see some of the city & it's history. Shame they don't have a longer tour. Fantastic experience.
This place is a lovely little gem especially if you are a tram lover. We were visiting the Woolen Mills and while certain members of the family were more interested in that others had a look at the tram depot.
They have a bunch of the trams you can climb on and explore with some history boards you can read.
They also have a nice little gift shop with very friendly staff who make you feel very welcome.
Worth a visit. Trams are good fun didnt have time to go down the mine but looked cool
.. Very cool old trams coupled with very nice and knowledgeable people made for a really good experience ..
Fantastic tourist location, really had a blast. Really was a good journey through time. The staff were really well experienced and knowledgeable and obviously love their job.
Loved seeing the old trams. Miss 8 really enjoyed learning about how the trams work and their history.
Great time on the journey. The talking trams tell the story of the sites along the route.
Our guide was amazing. We were not expecting a guided tour as it is free entry. However it was so good we had to make a donation.
The assistance that we received from the staff at Bendigo Tramways was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The tour on the tram was very informative and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour.
Great tourist attraction, can hop on and off where ever. The commentary gives a good history of the area. The mine tour is good too.
Amazing to see the history behind the trams and the efforts made to keep them running well worth a look
Very interesting history and trams, worth buying a ticket if tourist.
Fascinating history of trams, access to many different trams, great staff
