Horrible experience. No one cares about you or your health. Took hours to get me a room and when they finally did. They gave me the wrong medications that got me so allergic reactions and passed out. Than not even a day later they pretty much kicked me out. Saying there s not much they can do and they don t know how to cure me and to go see a specialist.
EXCELLENT PEDIATRIC DEPARTMENT. My 8-year-old had to be hospitalized there for 2 months and the care he received was superb! Each of the medical personnel gave him great attention and care.
I have a week with my hospitalized daughter, I sleeping in Parking and she had a car accident, she has a pelvic fracture and until today they have not been able to do her surgery, they have been canceling it and they spend it sleeping and today, Friday, she has been asleep all day without eating. Because she is ready for surgery and they won't let me see her, neither the nurse nor the doctor call me, she has a broken week there on a pill, it's not fair when I wanted to change her hospital, they didn't let me because I was ready and it's date nothing
I had some really great nurses, some of the best but also some mean ones. but my nurse Sophia on floor 6D, you made my time there so much better. Also my student nurse Miss Marie, you were so real with me and became one of my favorites there. My tech Eric!! You looked out for me. And my other tech during the day, I can t remember her name but she made me so confident in my progress. And so many other amazing techs and nurses on that floor. So thank you so so much.
In 2014, I went to this hospital for emergency care and waited more than 6 hours to be seen in the ER. The huge main waiting area was over-filled with people. No available seat, standing room only. Many people were actually sitting on the floor. Unbelievable in modern day America. But it got MUCH worse. Many hours later, I was finally called and escorted to a small, empty room in what looked like a storage area. The room had a desk, a few cabinets and a couple seats so I waited there for someone ...anyone.. to come back and provide assistance or at least check on me. Never one to create a scene, I left the back room and the hospital after a couple hours, when no one returned to check on me. Later, when attempting to be seen at their sister hospital (Houston LBJ), I learned that my med records stated I simply walked out of Ben Taub Emergency for no reason. Because of these experiences, and many other unbelievably bad experiences, I stay as far away from those midieval institutions as possible.
I want to feel this is a good hospital because of the eye care I have received
MY BP drop low Jerry in the er didn't help any by making jokes I know COVID-19 is real but telling me you need to see my thoughts wasn't funny. There should be other options for testing for COVID-19 I ask about the spit or blood test Jerry. I'm putting my thought here you hurt me once never again I will be inquiring about the hospital policy
Worst experience in a hospital my wife had to go to critical condition. When I would call they would answer and just hang up. When they would answer I would ask how she s doing they would say I can t get no information through the phone and when I would ask so can I go to in person to get the information they say no. So what was the point of them to give me a phone number to call if I can t get any information of my wife. Also they said visiting hours are before 8 pm so I tried going before 8 pm they still wouldn t let me talk to her or give me any info. I do not recommend this hospital.
Average wait time for scheduled appointment is usually no more than 30 minutes, many visits I've been seen within minutes of checking in. The doctors you'll be seen by can vary appointment to appointment but I've been impressed with the time they've taken to review my records prior to coming in to see me.
