Belfort has lost the ability to service customers ...
Belfort has lost the ability to service customers after purchase. Unfortunately the strong reputation for service and quality has gone out the window with Belfort. My wife and I are nearing the end of a year long home renovation including the purchase of all new furniture. We purchased nearly all the furniture from, Belfort because we had purchased random pieces over the years and our personal experience along with that of friends and family had always been great.... until.. so, recently, we purchased several pieces... living rooms sets, china cabinets, sofa for the family room etc etc... we even went so far as to purchase the "extra" furniture protection. Unfortunately the last two items delivered were damaged. The family room sofa was torn on the corner during delivery, its a small tear but will become an issue over time if not fixed. Admittedly the sofa is a very heavy item and the delivery guys struggled mightily but it is what it is, I shouldn't end up with damaged furniture because of this.. and if I do, Belfort should make it right within reason. I called the customer service line, spoke to a gentleman who told me the entire email, voicemail, and "customer communication system"?? was down and that he would log my call that an item was damaged during delivery and I'd hear from someone in 72hrs... its been two weeks. In the meantime, the last item we ordered (long before the damaged sofa) was delivered and as luck would have it, that was also damaged. It was a corner cabinet and the doors are uneven and someone had overtightened a screw causing a shelf to crack. I actually waited a day to call about the last item because my initial thought was its a small crack and I can adjust the shelves myself.... unfortunately the hinges don't allow me to adjust the doors and my wife made a point that the cracked shelf may get worse and be an issue later on... so, this time I sent an email to the customer care team, with photos, outlining this issue as well as the previous issue I have never herd back on. Its been another two weeks and nothing... my wife and I are very reasonable and very patient but I decided it was not ok to get no response. I guarantee you that if I walked into their show room today I would be showered with attention by eager salesmen. We should be given the same attention once you have our money. Belfort should be ashamed.... make this issues right please..
