I stayed for the third time at the Marriott in late January with a group of students for a student conference we attended. The service has always been great and the staff are very polite and helpful. However this year I was dissatisfied with some of the changes the management decided to make and as we plan on coming every year, next year I am not certain whether I will book there again. Our students where sent for breakfast to a separate area, where the breakfast was cold, with a smaller variety and of inferior quality. As they are properly paying customers, they should be treated as all other guests. In addition, in the triple room, the third bed was a fold out bed which was very uncomfortable. If the hotel cannot handle such a large amount of guests, they should not accept so many bookings in the first place. I suggest they go back to the way they were last year unless if they don't want to loose customers

It is an interesting place to stay. Close to a lot of stuff but far from a lot of other stuff as well. Or maybe I didn't know where to go as that was my first time and I only had 1 night to check the surrounding.

The room I stayed in was interesting. It is not a typical Marriott setup. Spacious yet bare. You can definitely feel the age of the hotel.

Talking to a few staff members, it sounds like the hotel in the weekend has a different kind of clientele as well. I'll leave it just like that...

We stayed there with my wife for four nights and every day I lost one star. Almost all towels were patterned with stains, where one wonders why not to dispose of them. It was so bad that we didn't use half of the towels. The bed sheets were not changed, despite visible stains. There are far too few parking spaces. When it is full you have to find your way.

The Marriott the Hague is the recently renovated and rebranded Bel Air hotel. It is five minutes walking from the World Forum conference centre. The room is certainly good for the price and fairly quiet even on the street side - regrettably only instant coffee though. Food in the brasserie restaurant was extremely slow to come - several people walked out and my dessert was brought to my room on my suggestion only 90 minutes after ordering! During online check-in using the App I indicated the GreenChoice - however the hotel did not notice this as a result of which I missed out on 1000 Marriott points, bummer! Staff was friendly and helpful.

On march 27, 2016 I was due to check out of the hotel when I discovered that my passport was stolen from my hotel room. I left it on top of the counter beneath the TV the entire weekend of my stay. Nevertheless I had to go through the whole process of reporting it to the police and rebook a flight for the next day as I wasn't allowed to leave on the above-mentioned schedule date.

The saddest part of this is that hotel management did little to nothing to provide relief in this matter. I was there as part of an event that weekend. I was given a room for the extra day I stood there, via the organization I was working with, who by the way had most of the participants of said event staying at this hotel. Nevertheless, despite this incredible ordeal, the hotel didn't take responsibility for my passport being stolen by one of their staff members. Ultimately they paid me half the fee to change my flight, 150 Euros out of 300 Euros for the original cost for the re-booking, which needless to say was their fault.

Ultimately they never found the passport, & obviously neither did I. Yet, after several days, they said 'it's all they can do' as they had safes in each room for patrons of the hotel to put their belongings in. For the record, I traveled the world and have stayed in many Marriott hotels, and I've never felt the need to feel insecure or unsafe in any of them. Evidently this hotel (formerly the Bel Aire) was a different story. Obviously this hotel condones thievery performed by their hotel staff, and their guests aren't a priority to them. Unfortunately they will lose more than the 150 euros they didn't give me for my flight. If it would've been someone else who lived there and had the time to pursue this they would've been brought up on charges and would've had to pay for the change fee, my new passport & legal fees.

This hotel doesn't deserve to carry such a prestigious name like the Marriott. Too much class and longevity for such an egotistical hotel. Beware! Find another, better hotel in the area before considering this one. There's fowl play here.

The parking is very expensive (almost 20 euros / night to August 2018). You can park for free in the park right in front of the hotel if you do not mind parking on the street.

The room was quite dirty, especially because of the stains on the sofas. The staff was not overly friendly. In general, improvable for the price you pay.

We had booked 2 nights for New Year's Eve and were completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very modern and comfortable. Only the fridge was not really cold. As a bonus, there was a late checkout on New Year's Day for all. Parking costs extra!

On the honeymoon from 21st to 23rd June at the Mariotte Hotel in Lahaye, we were very disappointed by this hotel.
Indeed, we were first in room 339, on this floor, all the rooms were under construction and from 8am, we were treated to incessant drilling noises ...
Regarding the room, more specifically the bathroom as soon as you took a shower all the soil of it was flooded. This is not worthy of a luxury hotel of your renown.
The sheets of the bed were also stained ... problem of heat in the room ...
I wanted to share with you all these annoyances.

It is about 30 minutes to walk to the beach. Bicycles can be rented from the hotel, which cost 15 / day. Even if you use it for one hour, the price remains at 15 / bike.
Many bicycles are only equipped with a back pedal brake and no gear shift.

Comfortable, nicely decorated rooms. Friendly staff, but it was odd that many didn't speak dutch in a dutch hotel. For the price of the breakfast, I expect fresh orange juice, more kinds of fruit, special cheeses, ... and not just the standard stuff.

Certainly not one of the better Marriott's - a little dated and everything looks somewhat worked out. The concierge lounge was quite uninspiring as well. Though I prefer Marriott's over other hotels, will look for other options next time

Check-in with Ralph was great thanks for letting us check in room city side, we finally decided for the already reserved room and what a vieuw! Your patience and kindness are also really nice the days after.
Gert Jan fantastic guy, great socks and yes seriously think about coming back to The Hague forever !!
Wonderful to know more about the "golden keys" and to meet you.
Breakfast really extensive and then you get a kind of "menu" where you can also order and they bring it to you personally.
Didn't even stay very long, but so heartwarming how big smile they welcome early in the morning at breakfast and even serve them so cool.
Thanks for warmth, diversity, wonderful bed and we will definitely be back in two months, we will go 1 floor higher 8th already thought great, think ninth piece of heaven will be.
I also have to say all the other guests who stayed there were really nice.
First hotel where I dared to enter the breakfast room without any fear, that is really unique.
Thank you again and well, grapes in the refrigerator enjoy that but have been completely forgotten.

Love,
Pip

We spent 6 days at the Marriott Hotel. I found the overall cleanliness to be good, the only fault being that the soap dish was not cleaned and looked very messy. The bed was hard and after the first night my back hurt, so I was unable to get a full nights sleep for the rest of my stay. The duvet seemed cheap and I was cold, it also made a lot of noise when you moved, so, to avoid my back getting worse I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet and covered myself with my capes (which were a lot warmer than the duvet and I didn't have to listen to the noise from the duvet either.) Teabags were supplied but except for a single Earl Grey they were different flavoured infusions, so no decent cup of tea in the morning. We had to buy our own teabags and sugar. In Holland it is obviously very expensive to eat out, hotel was equally expensive. 25 euros for a single buffet breakfast, that is 50 euros a day for a couple for breakfast, needless to say we didn't have breakfast. Limited and expensive menu for dinner so, again, we ate out. Parking was also very expensive (20 euros a day) and we had paid up front, but were then told there was no guarantee of a parking space. Marriott is a large hotel on a main road so there is no parking on the road , we were told we would have to park up the road at some sort of centre, pay there, walk back to the hotel and they would reimburse us. I would NOT stay at the Marriott again

The hotel is located closer to Scheveningen than the center of The Hague. Although access to the center is easy with tram line 16. The World Forum is located close to the property. Rooms are spacious with a nice walk in shower area. Breakfast spread is ok. Staff in general are ok, with the executive lounge staff being more warm and friendly. If you are an Elite member and breakfast is not included in your room rate, you are only limited to breakfast in the lounge which have limited choices compared to the breakfast room. Compare to other hotels of the same level in the area, it is not always value for money - depends on the rate paid. One nice thing is the nice modern interior decoration in the general area and the room. Take note that housekeeping might not respect the Do not Disturb sign. In general an OK hotel though for the same price I would go for the Hilton which is closer to the center of the city and slightly better Elite recognition.

Had a one night stay. The place was busy with visitors. Room was good. Bed was quite good. View from the room was excellent. I just didn't get impressed by the restaurant. There's not much variety on the menu. I ordered a main course which eventually wasn't tasty at all. And I was kept waiting for 45 minutes to get my dessert. I eventually left without it eventhough it was brought to my room when I was about to fall asleep. Most of the staff at the restaurant were busy talking to themselves. All in all I wasn't impressed.

We had a deluxe room on the 7th floor.
It was spacious, beautiful view and beautifully decorated!
The breakfast was good.
The staff very friendly.
It was clean, but could be a bit better (there were some hairs on the wall in the bathroom)
We had a very nice stay! Highly recommended!

Modern Marriott away from center, to convention centers but rents bikes. Impeccable service and great breakfast buffet. Top floor rooms have a beautiful panoramic view and a VIP breakfast lounge.
