For the last 10 years I've had Bear deliver my mulch to my driveway. And I've never been anything but happy. I think there is always a little more then I ordered. We are now locked down in are homes for awhile and I am glad to have this work right now. I would recommend highly.
Just got my delivery of mulch and gravel at 8:00pm after waiting all day without as much as a word from the company when to expect delivery. Tried calling several times during the day only to get an answering machine that was full.
Once he showed up he told my wife he'd done 17 deliveries and gave her attitude when she simply mentioned not having recieved any window when to expect the delivery.
Once he dumped the load he told me I was his 22nd stop and acted as though I was lucky he came at all. The parting words he gave me were not to call him again, and I suggest everyone take his advice.
I have gotten various products from Barry over the years. It is always a generous amount, high-quality, and very fairly-priced. His yard is about 20% more than a normal yard. I have never had too little but sometimes have had too much. The compost soil is excellent for patching the yard. I used to get mulch from other sellers and you can't beat Bear Enterprises.
They get VERY busy during mulch season. You have to be patient for the delivery. If you really want it for Thursday, order it for Wednesday as you may not get it until late in the evening. And don't call at the last minute expecting to get it the next day that is unreasonable.
They weren t able to deliver my order on the day they committed to, but were thoughtful enough to call and explain what was going on before I questioned where the mulch was. That is a great way to run a business and appreciate that even during the busy season they treat their customers well. You deserve a five star review for a well run business.
Amazing service, reasonable prices, and very friendly staff. The man who delivered the sand was very polite, very knowledgeable and gave me free advices on my patio project. I would definitely make them my supplier for every future project.
The best bulk dirt, mulch, and stone/sand in the entire DC area! Unbeatable prices, generous portions of material, family owned operation working out of their yard. I will only ever come here for gardening material. Easy delivery if you need it delivered with reasonable minimums.
The price is right with this company. The timing was not precise but it did not impact my day much. The quality of the garden soil looks to be great. I look forward to buying mulch from him in a few more weeks.
Barry goes above and beyond -- definitely buy the garden mix, everything was THRIVING in my garden last year, especially tomatoes and peppers. He also goes out of his way to say when the top soil/garden mix is wet so you know what to expect -- it's not always workable in the spring time! We truly appreciate the hard work Barry puts in. We are repeat customers and look forward to buying more stuff from him.
Do not buy the garden soil here. It was supposed to be screened topsoil and 1/2 compost. It was full of clay. There were clumps of clay through the yard of dirt I bought. We ended just dumping at least 1/4 of it at my friend's farm and I just spent an hour going through what we already put in my raised bed and pulled out a wheelbarrow full of clay clumps. It still has a lot of clay left in it. It is totally useless for gardening. I don't know about their other products but I would recommend buying garden soil someplace else.
It was not just clumpy dirt- it is clay.
