Always came her as a child and that was before the big renovation. Very open and beautiful library but the back rooms lack that natural lighting that makes the entrance so welcoming
Attended this library on several occasions. Each I depart without being able to complete my working task.
Unfortunately there's a perpetual culture of shouting adults and screaming kids running around the library. Even though it's a library there's no way you can study in relative silence.
On one occasion I sat down to study but an elderly gentlemen insisted he wanted to sit on the chair I was sitting on. I sat elsewhere. I later noticed he was not reading but looking at pictures of young females in magazines. Another elderly gentlemen was on a library computer watching female boxing on the internet and laughing loudly. The library staff are extremely rude and inexplicably officious. One staff member was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. She wouldn't allow me to study. She kept interfering on shelves behind me on every table I moved to get away from her. Reluctantly I had to leave because she would not stop harassing me as I attempted to reapply my focus on my books and resume my work. She started muttering under her breath as I walked out of the library.
Shame you can't read nor study in this particular library because the staff members won't allow it. It is clear this particular library does not offer the same service, nor perform the same function in society as others I have attended. One presumes one is expected to study at home.
Sadly, there's no culture of studying here. When I tried to read a book from the shelf I was told to move on by a staff member because people cannot sit around reading. Would not recommend this library after several bad experiences.
