I have received excellent care from my GP Dr Nilan...

I have received excellent care from my GP Dr Niland at Beacon Medical Group in Plympton.
I have had to contact the GP via econsult on 3 occasions over the last year and have received a follow up phone call the next working day. I have been given lots of good advice and even been called in for a same day examination. I can t fault the service I have received and am very grateful given the current pressures they are under.

Incredibly easy to use and fast to respond. The e-consult is an easy platform to use, every time I fill it out I am called no later than the following day. Prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy of my choice immediately and any medical issues are dealt with as quickly as possible.

I don t understand why there are so many one star reviews, perhaps the reviewers are struggling to move forward with the times, or perhaps can t understand IT. Beforehand I had to fight to get an appointment on the phone, take half a day off work and wait in the doctors surgery surrounded by sick people. Now I fill a form in, put my feet up and the doctor calls me as soon as they can.

Well done to beacon medical and all their hard work :)

Trying to speak to a doctor about a problem after being instructed to contact my problem by the NHS unfortunately cannot get past the reseptionist who tells me the doctor can not help! What a shambles no wonder a&e is under pressure.

Horrendous now how the times have changed. Due to Ivybridge, center being unmanned was told to go to Plympton, simple ear infection that hoped would be resolved.
No doctors but a paramedic there to undergo the simple diagnosis, no idea what she was doing and when asked if she d read my medical history was told that she doesn t have time how can you have any faith in a service when they don t know what they re doing! Asked to see a trained doctor and was approached by an arrogant dispenser so still no closer to getting a professional diagnosis and medication. 30 quid spent on taxis to have nothing more than vague guesses.
COVID is not the only player in town cancer and heart disease is still number one priority to a lot of people, I feel so so sorry for these poor souls as an ingrown toenail would be met with carpenter i suspect!
Advice to anyone now in dystopian Britain! Do not get Ill!

When there's an "issue" with a repeat prescription...

When there's an "issue" with a repeat prescription request they just send a text with no way for you to respond, rather than use proper communication and call you so you have an opportunity to sort out any misunderstanding! They've made a mistake and wrongly delayed a repeat prescription. This could have been sorted in minutes if they bothered to call but instead I have a text that says don't reply, obviously it's impossible to get through on the phone and I'm going to run out of medication that I'm not supposed stop taking abruptly!! Only option is to fill out an econsult and run out of medication while waiting for a response! Awful.

Long queues to get through on the phone, unwelcoming receptionist (not all) as first point of contact , could do with a course on good customer service, e-consults completed but no verbal communication only email received back with advice. Extremely hard to see or speak to doctors.

Appalling service. Unable to access healthcare since Covid. Promises of phonecalls that don't happen. When they do happen, prescriptions don't get emailed across to the pharmacy as promised. Unable to speak to the practice manager. Disgusting.

Absolutely disgusting service. Tried and tried to speak to a doctor that actually wanted to listen to my issue and was told my issue was not important enough. Receptionist attitude is cold and unwilling to help at all. Avoid this place
