Bayt Abdullah Children s Hospice provides multi-professional, specialist, paediatric palliative care and support to children with life limiting or life threatening illnesses who are resident in Kuwait, and their families. We aim to improve the quality of life for children and their families from diagnosis and beyond by offering these services, tailored to the individual family s needs, in the location of their choice, whether at home, in Bayt Abdullah or through our outreach programme in their local hospital.

We offer specialist symptom management, medically supported respite care, home care, rehabilitation services and play activities as well as psychological and practical support for the whole family.

Ideal to house "children for paliative care" with great experience caring people on board who are more than willing to impart their skills and accumulated knowledge through out the years of experience.

This was a wonderful place. I hope to see it grow. BTW I m from TLA.

The project of the House of Abdullah or (Tkiyet Beit Abdullah), came his idea of the death of a child named Abdullah returned to Kuwait after a long treatment and stay in hospital in London for the treatment of malignant neophyte and healed, and after the child Abdullah treatment procedures provided by a team of specialists, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer was among them at the time. Eventually, there was hope that there would be any possible cure for the disease. The suggestion was made that Beit Abdullah would be established for the dying children to live in an intimate family environment that would provide them with comprehensive and flexible care.



Al-Sayer pointed out that the center also provides services that include help to relieve pain and control symptoms, and the house includes the facilities of daily care for games and recreation, as well as residential facilities for rest and emergency and advanced health care, pointing out that the idea aims to be a substitute for the original home for children And their families who need support to lead a decent and healthy life.

"He also provides medical support, week-round health consultations for the medical team to take care of Bayt Abdullah, as well as the provision of housing, social and recreational services suitable for the child when the medical and social problems beyond the capacity and ability of the home.

He explained that Bait Abdullah was established to take care of "children who are not cured of them and is a unique facility in the Middle East that treats children according to what is known as (palliative treatment)."

He pointed out that Bait Abdullah seeks to reduce the tension, anxiety and fear associated with the entry of the sick child to the hospital because of distance and separation from home, family and friends and ensure that all the facilities provided by Beit Abdullah focuses on the family and the child together.

He explained that he also provides periodic counseling specialist and psychological for children who go through days and last moments of their lives and their families to guide them gently to the road that no one wants to walk.

He explained that the building of Bayt Abdullah was designed to suit the cultural and living nature of the people of Kuwait. We created it in the form of chalets, where the Kuwaiti people are known for their weekend vacation in chalets on the sea.

I hope that this idea will be popular in the Gulf countries and in the Arab world, and calls on all countries to learn about this unique humanitarian experience and establish similar institutions.

Al-Sayer said that Abdullah's mother promised her son that he would not stay in the hospital anymore and that she would take care of him at home. In memory of the late child Abdullah and his family, the project was named "Bayt Abdullah".

He stressed that the House of Abdullah would not have come to light without the assistance and support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, who dedicated the land on which Abdullah was built and blessed and encouraged the establishment of this humanitarian work and was opened under his auspices in 2012. Al-Sayer announced that His Highness the Prince donated Bait Abdullah Center for $ 200,000 during the opening of Jaber Stadium.
