This was quite possibly the best decision I ever m...

This was quite possibly the best decision I ever made to go to Bayshore. It changed my life! Where do I start, oh yes the food. Chef Mark is extremely talented. I ate better there for 30 days than I have my 30+ years of existence. It was like eating at a 5 star restaurant 3 times a day. The entire staff was absolutely incredible as well, from the co-owner Judy for making my initial call warm and inviting, to other co-owner Megan for working so hard with my insurance company to get it covered, for providing us with a safe and peaceful retreat, and for going above and beyond to accommodate our needs during our stay.

All of the employees were kind, accommodating and were very knowledgeable about the process and how to teach the things I needed to be successful. Kevin and Reina were especially awesome. You could tell they cared about their jobs and cared about us clients. Reina is naturally a caring and compassionate person. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was productive and a learning experience. Kevin was Mr. Fun, he showed us some incredible experiences and activities. He also went above and beyond to ensure I got what I needed from the stay. The counselor Stephanie was amazing as well. She really took time to dive deep in to the issues and gave amazing solutions and a set of goals to follow for success. She wasn t judgmental at all, was very encouraging, is extremely knowledgeable about her profession and could also tell that she cared about my success in the program.

The facility is unbelievable as well. It s waterfront in beautiful Destin. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was a chef s dream, the pool was extremely refreshing and their gym is what really motivated me to stay on course and get my life together as well. They have a dock that you can go down and fish from, I caught several fish while there. The other clients and employees became almost like a second family to me and it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience to show me how to thrive in sobriety. It doesn t stop when you leave either. They call and check on you often and the co-owner Megan continued to fight with my insurance until the very end, well after my stay, to ensure they covered what they needed to cover for my stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get their lives back!

When I was at Bayshore, I was given all the resources that I needed and more to be successful. I know it ultimately falls on how willing I am to take and implement all the things they taught me in order to be successful. There is such an individualized approach and every client is handled differently depending on what works for each person. I can't say enough good things about every single staff member, they genuinely care about every single person and each staff member brings their own experience and perspective to the facility, even the chef is helpful and interactive in addition to the amazing food he prepares! The information that they provide, the approach they take to reach everyone, whatever a person needs help figuring out how to overcome their addiction, and a step further to maintain sobriety after leaving Bayshore is above and beyond. You could go to another facility and be given the same information (which I highly doubt would happen) but what really makes this place unique is the staff.. They come from all walks of life and do not hold you to your past but truly they want the best for you and care about you and your future more than some of the people that I've considered my best friends. From a recovering addict who was doing massive amounts of drugs, If you want/need help and truly want a program that can work for anybody then this is the place you should be at! If you are not serious about getting sober then please don't waste these peoples time because they are doing AMAZING things for people that truly want sobriety. These people gave me a chance, made me realize there is hope; simply put, these people saved my life and they can save yours if you are willing to give them a chance!!

Going to Bayshore Retreat was the best decision I ever made. I started using drugs at a young age and by the time I was 22 I was completely hopeless and didn't see any chance at living a normal sober life. I am from Philadelphia and a family friend referred me to Bayshore in February 2015 and I have been sober ever since. I received the absolute best care from the staff and there was only 6 clients there which made it comfortable and I got a lot of attention to help me with all of my problems. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking to get help.

Staff is genuinely dedicated to helping each client work through their issues on a daily basis. Very well kept/clean facility with 5 star in house chef. Counseling is effective and tailored to each clients personal needs. Well thought out workbook and staff led groups that cover all aspects of patient care and wellness. Daily access to gym and onsite sauna is effective in getting the patient back on a healthy living course. Group counseling/learning sessions either by onsite staff or offsite counselors is highly motivating and adept at helping the client identify underlying issues and ways to make a change for the positive. In depth coursework of around 30hr per week allows client to work through their personal issues at length and discover aspects about themselves that they might not have known prior to enrolling in Bayshore. The biggest difference in Bayshore is the ability of the client to work during their stay. Clients are allowed to keep their phone and bring their computer if they wish to work while in treatment. Thus allowing the client to stay connected with their regular lives while getting the treatment they need.

Has great potential. Needs new management and in my personal opinion some of the employees are harmful to healing and recovery. I was not treated with respect and my personal information was not held in confidence by some employees. I would not currently recommended this place and feel I wasted far too much money I now wish I had back.

I had a totally wonderful experience at Bayshore Retreat. The owners and staff are honest, caring, and know what they are doing. Unlike other centers, individual therapy is offered at a minimum of 2 times/week and as often as needed. The counselor is on-site and extremely knowledgeable on the topic of addiction and all the baggage that goes with it. Everyone at Bayshore treated me with respect and dignity. I was just a person with a problem. I came away armed with the strength needed to fight my alcohol problem. At Bayshore, they treat the mind, body, and the spirit. Now, I really feel at peace with myself and my place in the world. Bayshore really is a RETREAT!!! I almost forgot to give kudos to Mark, our personal chef. The food was delicious and, believe it or not, healthy.

Bayshore Retreat is an amazing place! It is unlike any other treatment center I have ever been to.. The staff that is there genuinely cares about each and every person that walks through those doors and the program is tailored to each individual person, and the program molds to the person, as opposed to the other way around. The daily group therapy sessions are led by different counselors that are from various walks of life and all have different backgrounds which is nice. It gives each client a chance to gain a different perspective about their recovery. Another good thing about Bayshore is that on the weekends, they have activities that the clients do together such as going to the beach, boat rides, bowling, swimming in the pool/hot tub, etc and then on Saturday nights they take you to dinner somewhere in town. Last but not least, Mark, the personal chef, is simply outstanding!

Great facility. Very small client ratio so you get a lot of individualized treatment. Fitness, nutrition, rest very integral part of recovery program. Time to reflect and get your mind straight. Highly recommend.

By far the best place to get sober! They provide an individualized and personalized approach to addressing root causes of the addiction not just break you down and turn you into a robot. They do it in a humane way, unlike the other places. At Bayshore you feel safe and cared for, it proves smaller is better. You will get to do various activities and dining out like they advertise, no false advertisements like the other places. Food is fantastic and facilities are gorgeous. Staff is the best, I have known the doctors for decades and they are awesome and trustworthy! You will be happy here and YOU WILL GET BETTER!!!!

I have been a client at Bayshore more than once. ...

I have been a client at Bayshore more than once. When I relapsed, they were the only people I called. Bayshore is such a unique facility. They treat all aspects of recovery from addiction...body, mind, and spirit. At Bayshore, I was always treated with respect and compassion. They looked at my individual challenges and created a treatment plan that was specific to my recovery. They honor people's beliefs and work to create a program that works for them, both in treatment and upon discharge. Yes, it is a beautiful, comfortable setting. Yes, the healthy food prepared by a chef is fantastic. And yes, there is laughter, creativity and fun But it is also a place for hard, healing work. Bayshore exposed me to a variety of qualified therapists, each giving me a new way to think and grow.
The small number of clients allows for close relationships with the staff, which I still talk to on a regular basis today. I have referred many people to Bayshore and am so grateful a place like this exists for people, like me, that struggle with addiction.

Bayshore Retreat by far exceeded my expectations. ...

Bayshore Retreat by far exceeded my expectations. At first, I was extremely nervous due to not knowing what I was getting myself into as this was my first time coming to treatment. When I first reached out to Bayshore, the owner of Bayshore (Judy) answered and was extremely polite. A couple of days later, I was having second thoughts and Judy called to make sure my health and well being was okay which I thought was very considerate. That and her compassion really sealed the deal for me to make the choice to book my flight and get to Bayshore.

When I landed, I was greeted by the CEO (Megan) and she was polite and we had a great conversation about Bayshore which helped me feel more relaxed and excited about what I was getting myself into.

Upon my arrival, the staff and other clients were uber friendly and welcoming. One of the nice things about Bayshore is that they only hold 6 clients at a time which makes the experience very personal and family oriented. I felt like it was easier for me to open up and really do the inner work on myself with the limited amount of people at Bayshore.

The staff at Bayshore are amazing and genuinely care about all clients. Steve and Raina were extremely helpful during Life Skills and down time in making myself aware of triggers and how to establish coping mechanisms. Stephanie who is an licensed mental health counselor does the 1:1 counseling at least twice a week and is extremely knowledgeable. She was an integral part of my journey in sobriety. In addition to Life Skills groups and 1:1 counseling, each night a counselor comes in with a different perspective which is very nice because it allows you to learn from people that have different backgrounds and all offer something different.

I also want to rave about the food because the chef (Mark) is amazing and creates masterpieces each day. You can tell he takes his job seriously and puts his heart into every meal he prepares (3x's a day). The taste of the food is phenomenal, it is just like a 5 star restaurant but with nice sized portions.

Bayshore's approach is holistic so the access to yoga classes, sauna, weekly massages, swimming, kayaking and boating helped me clear my head and allowed me to get to the root of my addictions. At Bayshore, you will not be bored as they always have something that clients can do. On the weekends they took us out on boat rides, dolphin cruises, art class, went to the beach, etc. Being near the water and doing these activities made it very peaceful and serene and allowed us clients to have some fun while working on sobriety.

Lastly, I am so thankful that I found Bayshore Retreat and was able to start my sobriety journey with you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I looked at a few other places before making my decision to come to Bayshore and I am extremely pleased with the choice I made. The staff is super supportive and genuinely care about you, the house is immaculate, and the food is DELICIOUS. My counselor, Stephanie was amazing! I am so grateful for all the love and guidance I received here.

Bayshore is absolutely amazing. They take a holistic approach to bringing sobriety into your everyday life. The on-site chef creates incredible and healthy dishes to help you enjoy your new life of sobriety. They promote exercising daily, provide ample education and support, the counselors and staff are absolutely amazing, and having a smaller group of only 6 or less allows them to show genuine care and support to each client. I fully recommend this facility. It is very comfortable, friendly, thorough, and affordable (you could pay the same price down the street and get eggs out of a carton or slop Sunday). It's worth the investment to better your or a loved one's life.

Bayshore Retreat is a wonderful rehab facility. This was my first time coming to rehab and it was a unbelievable experience. The staff is wonderful and very helpful in ways that you would not expect,. The program and daily counseling that is offered is also very beneficial. Every day you have a counselor that does group in addition to the one on one counselor and the neat thing is that some counselors may be more to your liking than others but they all have something to them that gets you where you need to be.

Apart from the counseling and Life Skills program, the food is awesome and the chef takes into account what you do and do not like. The activities they provide on the weekend are a definite plus, it gets you doing things you may not normally do sober. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a good place to get sober!

Every addict has their own path to and through recovery. Treatment doesn t always provide a fix-all for every person. My personal journey led me to Bayshore three times (and it wasn t my first trip to treatment). This is hands-down the most comprehensive, immersive and compassionate program for those who struggle with drugs and alcohol. The house is beautifully appointed, the chef is absolutely amazing, and the peace and motivation I felt while in attendance is the most gracious I ve experienced. I still communicate regularly with fellow clients and staff. I am now 19 months sober (after several near-death hospitalizations) and have the tools I learned at Bayshore to thank for my sobriety! Love love love these people and what they do!!

I was the First Patient to step Foot thru the Door at Bayshore Retreat. I have been to Mulitple Centers in 3 different States and was still a Lost Adult Roaming around making the same mistakes for many years. Bayshore Retreat changed my Life and gave me a new start. I know Jeff and Judy personally, and have nothing but uttermost Respect and Great Things to say about them both. Unlike All other places, the Bayshore Retreat staff does not acknowledge you as a "Drug Addict" or a "Drunk." But as a Human Being who has been making the wrong decisions and teach you how to live everyday life having what most call a "Disease." I Highly Recommend them to anyone looking for the "Right Place" to send their "Loved One." Especially to those trying to Cope and Find the Right Center after many Failed past attempts. They have a Highly Trained and Highly Knowledgeable Staff.

The staff at Bayshore Retreat are the most friendly and caring people I have ever met at a treatment facility. I have been to five previous treatment centers and none of the others ever catered to my needs the way Bayshore has. I have had problems with ADHD and never had the time to go get tested. They scheduled me an appointment with a psychologist and brought me to get tested within a day. There was also a time when I needed dental work done and also scheduled me and appointment and brought me back an forth to the facility. I have not been to one place that would have done that for me. At previous treatment centers I have had to mold into their program but here at Bayshore they mold to us, the clients. The time I spent at Bayshore was one of the top life experiences I have ever had. Thank you Bayshore for showing me a new and better way of living.

Bayshore Retreat has been a wonderful place for myself and the hospitality here has been second to none. The staff and the counselors sincerely care for each client and I could not have picked a better place to start my sobriety. Apart from the daily counseling and life skills program, the food and activities were a major plus! I would highly recommend Bayshore to anyone seeking sobriety. This place has really impacted and changed my life.

Bayshore Retreat is an exceptional facility! The owner and staff go above and beyond for everyone that walks through the front door.

This facility sets itself apart on almost every level. The maximum number of patients is 6, allowing for more one on one time and an experience tailored specifically to each individual.

Alcoholism and addiction are cunning, baffling, and powerful diseases. The staff members here know that and have years of experience helping people deal with their afflictions.

Whether you are deep in your addiction, still allowing drugs and alcohol to dictate your life (1 Girl), or if you have finally had enough and are ready for a better way to live - Megan and her team are here to help no matter what stage you are at!

The Food:
Chef Mark and Chef Kevin
I can t say enough about the chefs here!!
5 stars would be an understatement!

Accommodating:
Just because we are seeking sobriety does not mean that the world stops turning. I was able to use my phone and my laptop to continue working while at this facility.

Spoiled Rotten:
The body is just as important as the mind and the spirit. Weekly sauna, weekly massage, weekly yoga, and daily gym. Where else do you get treatment like that!!??
