Went here due to depression and anxiety, they drug you up to keep you from having a mental breakdown, was a very traumatic experience for me. Only 1 hour of groups throughout the day they have you sitting around and don t keep you occupied whatsoever. Don t come here if you re someone who needs to talk about their problems for them to get better because here there s no one to talk to. Very rude nurse forget her name but I asked to speak to a doctor regarding my meds and she said it could wait until tomorrow. They diagnosed me bipolar after seeing me for 2 minutes and the doctor was over zoom. The social worker wasn t even there when they discharged me they don t care about their patients needs to be shut down. Don t go here.

After having one of the worst experiences of my life here, being admitted under false pretenses. I have such a wonderful perspective on how great my life truly is and how amazing my family is. Be careful what you say, and to who.

I have been a patient at Bayridge hospital a few times and from security to the doctors and the nurses are wonderful. I don't know if here still there but John a nurse on the dual floor gave meds on a silver platter sometimes and with candy some times. Food was good. Fridge and cabinets were fairly well stocked. Hote I don't need their svcs again but they were great for what I needed at the time

A very close family member of mine has been at Bayridge a few times in 2020-2021 during the pandemic due to severe mental illness. The staff is incredible and their social work team and NP team is particularly outstanding. If this family member has to be in a psych hospital, we have been thrilled with the above and beyond care, compassion and communication. Thank you, Bayridge staff for your incredible work every day.

My son was sent there for depression and anxiety. After navigating the maze of how to be able to talk to him and visit (thank you hipaa and a not very informative website), we were very pleased with the treatment he received there. More importantly - he was pleased. Came out feeling positive and feeling like he had some control over his outcomes. All planning was done with him but after they pulled in family (with his permission) to talk as a group and so that everyone would know what was going on. The staff were caring and nice and the rapport with the patients was very helpful. Perhaps one big help (IMO) was getting unattached from his phone (they can access them to get info but no phones on the unit) for 5 days.
Would have been 5 stars but I think a section "My family member has been admitted, what do I do now?" would help a lot. That first 24 hours was stressful enough.

Not recommended for anybody struggling with detox or mental health. The staff is terrible, maybe you ll find one nice staff member. People sneak substances on visits, so it s very difficult to stay sober. Bay ridge hospital was a very traumatic experience, and to have to stay here pretty much against my will for trying to get help with alcohol abuse. If you re loved one is crazy and you d like them to be tucked away where nobody can find em? Bay ridge hospital is a great place for him or her. How can the staff be so rude? Making fun of mentally unstable, mentally challenged (not retarded staff), and Alzheimer s patients?
DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! LYNN LYNN THE CITY OF SIN!
