Baya Pointe Nursing and Rehab Reviews

My husband was at Baya Pointe for rehab, we were very pleased with his progress. The staff was pleasant and responded to all my husband's needs. We found the place to be very neat and clean.

My dad was sent to this facility for rehabilitation on a Monday night On Wednesday my mom and I visited him during which time the PT got him on a walker and was impressed with his walking abilities as he flung the walker in front of his body without using it for support.
The following Saturday my aunt was visiting him and heard him yell out and next heard the caregiver yell at him. She went into his room and asked what was going on and the caregiver told her he was being aggressive. She told him that was not his nature and that perhaps he moved him too fast because he was holding onto the bed rail for dear life.
The same night my sister visited him and called me almost in tears and sent me pictures of a almost 94 year old veteran with a distressed face and she said a tear fell from his eye. I told her to pack his things and have them take him to the hospital to be checked out because he would not be returning. In my 62 years of living I have never seen my dad cry.
Needless to say the majority of professionals that have come in contact with him since taking him out of this facility concur he has fallen because of how he grabs and his anxiety level when moving him in bed. My dad has been bed ridden and has not yet walked since leaving this facility - five days of rehabilitation and he has not walked again.
Also, the stench of urine is so strong in this facility you need a gas mask to breathe. I wouldn t take a dog to this rehab.
I am angry that my dad has lost his ability to walk and I spoke with administration with the above complaints and no one has bothered to call me back with any explanation or concern.

I went to see my father in law today at this place and he was so confused he couldn't even hold his head and and look at out the window right in front of him he did look clean and he had clean clothes on but they haven't shaved him I got after the nurse taking care of him about it

Had issues when my dad was there. Lady even had the audacity to tell me my dad couldnt go to his primary Dr who knew his needs for 8 years because her Dr wouldn't get paid. I don't care if your Dr gets paid I care about what's best for my dad.... Then they didnt pay transport company and they canceled on them 2 days into my dads stay and they couldnt provide my dad with transportation to dialyasis like they said would. Tons of negative and dont go there if you need wound care .

My mom had to wait 35 to 40 minutesfor someone to help her go to the bathroom even after I asked. Then when the nurse came my mom was upset and the nurse turned and walked away!

My Dad was there, lost 2 outfits, nurses do NOT answer call button and it took 4.5 hours to call rescue when Dad started having chest pain, he was admitted to ICU at the hospital!!! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE THERE!!!! Plus I sent an email to the company that owns this place and have gotten no response, a "Received your email will be conducting an investigation and will contact you" would have been nice, but nothing, I guess the company that owns this place is the reason this place is ran like it is!

My med are always late. Seriously late.. ive had to go to desk and get my meds. Up to 2 he's late.
The call light seems like it's an option for them to come or not . DON'T COME HERE.. oh and they haven't had one of my meds for 3 days. And just keep giving excused.

My father was placed here for rehab after he had a broken leg and had surgery. He spent over a month here and contracted heal sores and infection which almost cost him both feet. Lawyers were contacted and was told it was a very good case except they are having financial difficulties which may result in bankruptcy and declined the case. Be careful and try to avoid this rehab for your loved ones, it's just not worth the pain and suffering my father went through. They were dirty and understaffed and I complained quite a few times, wish I would have taken off his socks and realized he had sores. Be careful with your loved ones.

My mom is here at Baya Pointe and overall we are very pleased the staff is pleasant and responsive to moms needs she is very happy with her choice

My grandmother is here right now, and she was missing over $75 worth of brand new outfits that had her name written in all of them. There was a box of clothes that just disappeared. I don't know what the deal is with this place, but I have asked EVERYONE where her new clothes are and nobody can find them. You need to find whoever is OBVIOUSLY stealing clothes from the facility's patients, considering there is another comment about the same thing from just a month ago. Ridiculous and unacceptable! Do better for your patients. They deserve better!!!

The whole place is a joke and should be shut down. I called and asked to talk to a manager about something very important and the employee named Soraya just laughed like I wasn't being serious then told me there are no managers.

This is the second time we have used Baya Pointe and it's the exact same problem, they take the patients clothes and do not return them. I have asked the nurses and staff and no one can find the missing clothes. They put on hospital gowns on them.
