Barton memorial hospital Review

I was seeing at Barton Urgent Care, doctor suggested that I come to Barton Memorial due to snowmobiling accident. Just like the Urgent Care, the ER doctors, x-ray techs, nurses were all friendly, caring, and warm. Thank you to all.

The care I received from the ER for food poisoning was great - then I received the bill $3,000! I can't believe being cared for with an IV and a common OTC script was this much. I see previous reviews stating "Money driven administration and doctors," and "you can't afford to pay off the ridiculous medical bills." Now I understand why... AND it's not like they care...I called to ask for a bill reduction and they only offered a payment plan. I wrote too, to no avail. ALSO it seems on here that bad reviews get the SAME text book response. smh

DO NOT go to this "hospital". My daughter was born here 18 years ago and it has gone downhill ever since. IMO, they have providers steer out -patients to have procedures, lab work, etc. done at Barton where the costs are higher. They do not communicate well, cannot adapt, and lose paperwork, and mis-schedule appointments. Many of the docs and admin personnel don't have proper backup and I have had voicemails go unanswered for two weeks. STAY AWAY!

Money driven administration and doctors. The nurses are the backbone to this place and they don't get paid enough to deal what they deal with. More than once my family and I have experience miss diagnosis and false information from the doctors and administration. I wouldn't depend my life at this hospital. On top of it, if you can't afford to pay off the ridiculous medical bills they threaten collections.

I was transported by ambulance to this hospital, bleeding profusely from the face and a severly dislocated shoulder. After two nurses couldn't put my should back in (extremely painful failed attempts) they reluctantly had the on duty trauma doctor do it. This same doctor stitched up my gushing forehead and did not even bother to check for a concussion.

When the ambulance picked me up, I was equal distance from Incline Village and South Lake Tahoe. I'll always regret not insisting the ambulance take me north.

they've never taken me seriously when I come here. I came in with a burst ovarian cyst, they didn't do any imaging, told me I was overreacting to my period, doped me up on morphine and sent me home. two days later, I was rushed in with a septic infection. unless you are literally visibly dying, they don't care about you. I would rather drive 2 hours to Sacramento in crippling pain than ever have to go here again.

I was in the hospital 4 days with a serious infection. Barton Memorial Hospital had the sweetest, caring and efficient staff I've ever had the pleasure of being treated by! The Doctors, nurses and aides were so pleasant. The food was also good. Thank you Barton Memorial for taking such good care of me!!

After going to urgent care to avoid the ER the hospital has met only some of the expectations they set for my care. The staff is nice and knowledgeable but communication is slow and booking time with a doctor will leave you waiting. The communications opportunities left me seeks outside opinions, which ultimately confirm the hospitals findings. Everyone said don t go to Barton, I would agree with that statement because the hospital seems over run and under staffed.

This so called ER needs to be investigated for over charging and terrible Drs and employees. This place needs to be shutdown it s not a emergency room they just rob you blind!

I had a visit to the ER this Monday, and the entire staff was wonderful. I had to have surgery immediately. Extremely caring, professional and helpful.
