It was good. Best described as hipster BBQ. Brisket & mac n cheese was yummy. The onion rings were ok, they had a kick and were really smoky, not what I was hoping for. The BBQ sauce was AMAZING. Service was great. Overall worth a visit.

went there for lunch today. For a $19 half rack of ribs, you get no side orders, all of which run from $6-8. For $14, you get a brisket sandwich not piled very high and no sides as well.

Food was decent, not great. But it gets 2 stars due to the prices they charge. Just not worth it. There are way better BBQ's for a lot less money.

Our waitress was excellent!! We kind of came in late, they were out of a lot but I had the spare ribs which the waitress convinced me into getting and she was right ! There were great! I loved the cornbread!! Mac and cheese was great! Great fries and we had some kind of dry rub wings which were unique and really tasty !! I would absolutely recommend this place but it is not a traditional Texas Barbecue my husband was very critical he is from Houston Tx but I m from NYC and it was great for me

Really well executed & consistent "comfort food." Classy, yet casual, fun ambiance that is best for friends and families. Great brunch spot. Wishing they still served a sweet hoecake!! #bringitBACK and a star off repeatedly having to request drink refills.

Barrel & Ashes has the worlds BEST Mac n cheese and slaw for starters!
I have tried their Bbq which is also extraordinary...but only in a group because their servings are so generous!

I have sampled bbq in the south & also Texas and in my opinion this is just as good and authentic.

I bet it s really busy and crowded weekends and nights.
But I ve never had to wait
No one would complain because this yummy menu is worth waiting for.

The owner is really nice as are the wait staff!
I m sure this place has been featured on Food Network it s that awesome!

Food was ok, would have been better if the tri tip and ribs were served warm rather than room temp. Service sucked, cornbread is this place's saving grace. Saw it on "Worth It" and tried it, best cornbread I've ever eaten. Probably won't see me back here because service and other food was that bad. They have a good thing going for them... I mean the cornbread has a good thing going for them...

Food is ok. Nothing special. They serve you Fritos with chili on top (still in the bag).
I accidently spilled my beer and got some serious attitude about it from the server, then the manager came out to tell me as a courtesy they will give me another.
But the Cherry on top which makes this place suck is they add gratuity to every bill, no matter how many in people in your party.

Absolutely delicious - Jordan went out his way to make delicious pastrami sandwich and fries. They a picture speaks a 1000 words, so just feast your eyes on that sandwich :) glistening juicy fatty salty pastrami, crunchy toast, pickles and dressing-- yum! Abraham the chef should be proud to have that masterpiece on the menu. So glad I made it in for lunch.

If I could give zero stars I would , the food was okay, the service was horrible , first the server took 10 minutes to bring us water, food came out it was okay , short little girl was horrible at serving, after we were done eating , she brought us our check and told us to split the check , I have never in my life had heard of a server telling the customer to split the check. After we get done paying she knew she didn t deserve a tip and included a 25% on our check. So we talk to the manager about her service and the manager sides with the server telling us we are talking about his server , if your a couple and gonna work together leave the feelings aside. Overall I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE . Don t even waste your time coming here we spent 200 dollars with them and they can t even agree the customer is right . When I go out to eat I don t expect to do math for the service I pay for. Overall they don t deserve business

The food is so good! I tried three meats today, chicken, tri tip and baby back ribs. Cleaned my plate clean! Also had a side of beans and collards. Both amazing. The cornbread was to die for, considering f I do not even like cornbread. Basically, everything I've had here has been above my expectations

Honestly one of the best bbq in LA. The prices are a bit high, but the care put into the sides, meats, and overall creativity of specials and vibe of the restaurant is worth it. Would definitely recommend if you're hankering for some really good bbq.

The atmosphere is nice the workers are friendly. I ve always wanted to eat here because the smell walking by is tempting. Today I did just that. I ordered the wings. Cold. Tough. Sort of warm and so salty that They were unbearable. I took the wings back. I m sure other items on their menu are better.

Be sure to come early as this place gets packed and they sell out of that infamous chicken sandwich. The hoe cake was crunchy and sweet but unfortunately not fried in bacon fat. The bar menu featured local craft beers and the pours of whistle pig rye were generous and affordable.

It was good food. Customer service was good. Certain items on the menu was real good. However the bar b cue was slacking. It was just ok. It was dry. Needed more sauce . Really not much flavor. Very dry. Nice place tough. Drove there because I saw it on Million dollar listing show.

Deliciously smoked ribs, lightly glazed with a lip tingling barbecue sauce. The hoe cake was moist and buttery. Service was good and the atmosphere was unique, definitely worth the wait if you're in the area.

This is an amazing place fore pre game. Unreal BBQ as well as beers and cocktails. Favorite place in this part of town.

Edit:
Food is still amazing. Service was a little off tonight. It was actually a slow night, but they got multiple things wrong (drink orders, table check in etc.) and when we spoke to a manager just to get one item corrected we were treated like the town snitch.

Will come back, but just be cautious, it could be hit or miss.

Excellent establishment! The food was amazing. I strongly recommend you check this restaurant out and do yourself a favor and go for the ribs and Hoe cake. When you first walk in, the ambiance of the resturaunt feels cozy and welcoming. The servers and cooks are friendly and very helpful in recommending orders and specials. They have a wide selection of beers, liquors and house special drinks. The menu is simple but it makes up for it by having a very good selection of appetizers and meals to enjoy such as burgers, ribs and salad. Overall my experience at this resturaunt was exquisite.

I came here to find tender, juicy, flavorful brisket and ribs.... to my disappointment this place fell very short of my expectations. I love Bobby Qs in AZ and I love BBQ in Nashville so if you re used to tender falling off the bone BBQ I suggest you avoid this place all together. I doubt they cook the meat for long periods of time as it was pretty tough and the BBQ sauces were not memorable. I didn t enjoy the sides either- they were just OK. Needless to say, I will not be back for seconds.

Not impressed. Ordered the brisket which was brought to the table cooked medium and cold. Medium = good, cold = not good. Informed the server politely and she returned with the same plate apparently heated up in a microwave and the brisket was now well done and dry. Didn't bother further at this point as I was with friends and they would have been nearly finished by the time they got my order sorted. The "Lil Salad" salad was pretty bland as well. I've never considered iceberg lettuce to qualify as a "greens."

Yes, I ordered a salad at a BBQ joint, but why even put this on the menu if your intent is to less than half-ass it. I could go to TJ's for better ingredients that also look better off the shelf than the travesty that appeared on my table at $13 a piece.

Good food, service was nothing to note about however an server who felt entitled to a tip from every person that he approached my party while we were already outside, 30ft away from the restaurant made the entire experience a negative one and rememberable enough to not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food was very delicious! The hoe cake was really really good! Wonderful ambiance inside and services was great and drinks were good, cheers! The 3% healthy LA "donation" was something I don't agree with but whatever...

Tried it twice, disappointing both times.

Tried it twice, disappointing both times.

First time, food was OK (not exceptional) though the sides were good. The place was especially noisy (like many of the places along Ventura for some reason).

Decided to give it another try last night. Inside was a wall of sound so we were seated outside. Waiter was mostly talking to hear how cool he sounded, but we managed to slip our order into his pointless patter--we thought.

We thought wrong, he figured it was usual for two 6'+ guys to order one small-ish entree between them. When only one of what we'd ordered came out we asked the runner if the second was coming, he apologized and about 10 minutes later the other order came out. About 10 minutes after that our waiter finally appeared again and obliviously asked if everything was great. He remained oblivious after I told him that we'd ordered two and had to wait for the second.

Simple error, was corrected, not even something I'd necessarily expect a discount for or anything--but here's the thing: not only was there no discount, not only did the guy who'd made the error not apologize, THE CHECK HAD AN 18% TIP BUILT IN. For two people at a time when the restaurant wasn't filled.

Instead of asking for the manager (because the waiter was long gone again... almost never saw him) and having it removed we simply agreed we were done with that place.

The food this time was interesting-good, was a braised pork shank thing which was nice because it came with something of a side (pork belly--awesome, green beans and mushrooms) unlike their regular menu which is all a la cart. But I know I'd have liked the food at Baby Blue's in WeHo better, and I also want to try out Boneyard on Ventura soon. And it would've been hard to have worse service...

But hey, if you build an 18% tip into every check it doesn't matter that the service sucks I guess...

Just happened across this place. Always willing to try some good bbq and did this place not disappoint. Everything looked so good but i went with the slider sampler. Chicken, Pork and Brisket and they were all delicious. I will be back to try more for sure!

Our beers took, not joking, 15 minutes to arrive. They were out of the first two I tried to order. Food came well before the beers. Brisket was cold and clearly had been sitting out. Chicken breast was fine but $9? Pulled pork was half fat and was definitely not slow cooked. The waiter brought the food out without any sauce nor did they ask if we wanted some.
