An autentic milk-bar in Warsaw. It works like the old ones did in the past. The food is exceptional and very cheap, we paied around 70 zlotys (17 ) and we were four persons. The only drawback is that the staff doesn't speak english, and although they have the letter in English it can be difficult to understand each other at times.

I like this "bar mleczny". If you want to eat quick, cheap and something traditional then this place is for you. Ideally take a polish friend to order food for you. I ordered dumplings with meat and potatoes with chicken breast. I have received potatoes with chicken straight away but they forgot to give me dumplings until I have reminded them (without any issues they just gave me my dumplings) however those were cold inside.... ;( But I still like it despite this small issue. It's like in old times in Poland where time stops.

Good polish food for a great price.

Good polish food for a great price.
The menu is in polish, although there s a hidden English menu, you just have to ask for it.

A large soup and a dish of pierogi costs only about 12-13 Zloti, which is like 3 euros.

Recommend!

This is not a de lux class, but home-made food at an affordable price for Warsaw. Everything is fresh and done on a regular basis and certainly not from powder. The serving ladies are not hostesses, they only do their own and ok. I do not demand bows, etc. I come to eat during lunch break. For chat and luxus there is a lot of premises with adequate prices.

A true icon. All the food classics of People's Republic of Poland are there unchanged. Oh, the pancakes with curd cheese! Also unchanged is the atmosphere. A grumpy guy with fire in his eyes because I was standing in the door and a bit of fresh air dared to touch his skin (there was a queue outside); a more grumpy cashier yelling for people to shut that door already because her feet were freezing; a physically challenged street guy getting several plates, picking out the sausage into a plastic bag, and eating the rest by mixing everything up and digging into it while standing over it. It took all of 5 minutes to gobble up the unsightly mixture. The place is a trip to the 70s in its totality. And it's super cheap as it was back then.

The service is quick, but be prepared as the menu is in Polish and it was hard to get some explanation what is what. The food was very cheap, we liked the beetroot starter and crepes, however Golonka was not very tasty. Although the food was average it was still worth to visit to experience Soviet time canteen

Essence of a milk bar in which you can eat without any embarrassment. There is no concept of artificially inflated downtown of Warsaw. Politicians, businessmen and homeless people are eating together. The food is what it is. Certainly, the typical Polish flavors can be used here.

typical mleczny bar in the center of warsaw. there is always a queue at the entrance which means that you eat well but you can dispose of it within five minutes. All the dishes are on the blackboard at the entrance, obviously only in Polish so if you do not know the Polish it becomes difficult to order. To understand those that are available and those that vice versa are not enough to see if they have the price next. Once ordered and paid, the card is handed over to the ladies who cook. It's like a fast food restaurant with traditional Polish food. It is a charming place where you can breathe the atmosphere of old communist Poland. In addition to this, which is the most important thing, the food is absolutely good and costs nothing. Experience to try. Child bar number 1 !!! 5 stars

A very good bar mleczny. A modern but spartan furniture that reminds of the original aim of this kind of restaurants. They were created during the Communism as cheap places for the working class. Though known mainly to locals, they can be a very good deal for tourists. For a few zloty you can take a lot of things. One piece of advice, don't go close to closing hours as you may not find everything exposed on the menu.

Excellent food and great value. The menu is all Polish, buy don't be intimidated if you don't speak the language. Just walk up to the cashier with a deer in headlights look and she'll give you the English menu no questions asked.

Food is simple and delicious. Cold beet soup was one of the best I've had, and I've eaten it every day I've been in this country. Pork wrapped in cabbage was tasty too. Tomato sauce on top. Pork was seasoned just right. I would eat here every day of I lived here.

Yesterday, together with a friend, I had the opportunity to visit this "iconic" place. I know the bar because I have eaten there many times. But after yesterday's visit we don't have good memories and the disgust remained. Evident portions have decreased. I ordered a pork chop, which is hard to call a real "pork chop". It is rather a sample of a real cutlet. The potatoes were tasteless. All dumplings in the mix were very similar. Only situations saved beetroot and fresh apple juice.

Food quite tasty. So is the decor. Lots of tables, but it is a pity that people do not have space to stand in line. I give 2/5, because after getting in one line, paying and getting in the other, it turned out that I will not get my dish. It is true that the Lady offered something else in return and the compote for free, but the distaste remained.

This is the classic mystical experience !!! If you are looking for a place where you do not speak a word other than Polish, where you do not find a bathroom in which to wash your hands, where there is only 1 menu written in English, where the dishes are not served but are "thrown", where not find a smile even looking for it with the lantern ... then it is the right place for you !!! 2 stars just to glorify a past that doesn't exist anymore ...

This is place is just wonderful! I think it's one of the best and most efficient milk bars in Warsaw. The food is really delicious and they serve a variety of different kinds of Polish dishes.

For the people who cannot read polish , you can ask for an English menu card with all of the incredible dishes. Warning: it's really hard to chose so you will want to come back and taste them all .

But don't worry because the price is really cheap as well, I paid like 4 euro's for a coke and fresh and well cooked food.

What surprises me the most ist the speed. I never went to a place to eat where they serve your food so fast . You order something and you get your food in less than a minute, they're like machines. Even McDonald's cannot compete with this speed even though it's "fast food".

So if you want a good place to eat in Warsaw where they serve delicious dishes against the speed of light and for a cheap price, this is where you need to go.

Bambi is always on props. If someone wants to eat a classic pork chop with cucumber salad + mushroom soup, as in the case of "grandma", he couldn't get better :). Unfortunately, it can scare off only a large queue, but it also shows well about this place :) - they just feed well here. Generally, despite a lot of traffic, the places around the tables rotate quickly - also a place should always be found on the spot.

Old school milk bar that appears to be popular with the locals (queue out the door even at 15:30). There's an English menu behind the register but the menu on the wall is only Polish. Good selection of Polish dishes, pay at the register and hand your ticket at the window. Ordered the Russian pierogis and they came out of a bag, still tasty though. Chilled beetroot soup was fantastic and perfect on a hot day.

Great food such as they once gave in school canteens. Thanks to this place I already know how to taste porridge. For a classic dessert - jelly with whipped cream. A delicious cooler for this. the only drawback of this place is a huge queue, I assume that caused that they give good and not expensive food.
