Service was friendly, we stayed for a weekend getaway, and we upgraded to a bigger suite. It was the best rates in town for a reason - the rooms were quite run-down, but I guess at the end of the day - when you're in Banff, you're not in the room. I think I would spend a little more and have a hotel closer to the "town center" as this one is quite far away - closer to the highway

Staff was friendly and welcoming, parking was easy. Room was low end, but a clean place to sleep for the night. Continental breakfast is exactly what you would expect from a cheap motel.

This was my second stay, I only stay there because of the low rates.

Liked this hotel. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Had a couple of meals in the restaurant and was probably the best value and quality we had on our Canada road trip. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Great little bar. Plenty of parking. WIFI was ok in the rooms. About 10 min walk to town. Would definately stay again.

Price changed between phoning ahead and arriving 10 minutes later. Rooms have tube TVs. 2 sinks, no fridge, no pens. Outdated rooms. This city has mountains, the people don't need brains or proper customer service.

Overpriced dump.

Overpriced dump.

I had originally booked a room at what I thought was the Spruce Grove Inn (which I'm now reading is no better), presumably owned by the same people as the Voyager Inn as the counter staff at the Spruce Grove Inn were later behind the desk at the Voyager (and not to mention logging into WiFi shows the Spruce as their photo). Upon arrival, i was told that there was no booking found, "maybe over at the Voyager next door". I Google the number I called and it comes up as the Voyager, which I'd never even looked at. Not at all worth the $400 I paid for one night. The room was not the king I'd booked, and I was told there wasn't much they could do. The room was hotter then the Summer weather outside, with no way to turn down/off the heater. The cleanliness is questionable, there was a stiff/stale face cloth left in the shower, multiple stains or just uncleaned ratty old towels. The STAFF came into my room at 8:30 a.m. (keep in mind checkout is 11 a.m) after realizing that we were still in the room, proceeded to LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN/UNLOCKED. None of the vending machines i came across worked. The complimentary breakfast 'buffet' was unsanitary (cross contamination between foods as serving utensils are places on the same plate), bland, all around not good - from the coffee, to the fruit which was barely tolerable. Every experience I had in this hotel was unpleasant from checking in, to checking out with the

I would never stay here again. I will not be recommending this place to anyone else. I would recommend spending the money (maybe a little extra) where you'll get your moneys worth. At the very least, some place with a bed that isn't rock hard and that has at least 2 ply toilet paper if your spending that kind of money.

Their "default" tip percentage in the restaurant is 25%!!! Honestly I have been living in Canada for almost a decade and have never seen a restaurant that set the default tip percentage that high! My parents who came to Canada for the first time and couldn't speak or understand English went there for dinner and were charged 25% tips without being aware of it!!! And on the same day there was another guest who didn't speak English either being charged over 20% tips!! How rude and terrible to foreign travellers!!! They didn't stay in the hotel so I can't say anything about the other service in the hotel. But their "tip policy" in the restaurant is definitely ruining their reputation!!

This is a bad hotel, I highly recommend spending a little more for something better. It s very dusty, carpets not clean, the beds are crazy firm, our bathroom lights wouldn t turn on (they just flickered), there was a leaky air hose whistling all night, and the toilet didn t have enough water pressure to flush...

Clean though slightly dated, with the first big thing advertised being an in hotel liquor store (so many better selling points than that!)... Pool is 'warm' but outdoors, so you'll still be cold as hell on anything but hot days with little More

Located at the end of downtown. Generally shabby decor. Room was a good size. The heat in the hotel was broken, room was about 15 degrees the whole time. They offered us extra blankets. Sauna and hot tub were ok. Service was good. Breakfast was good. Staff were courteous and brought us extra towels and blankets in a reasonable time.

Overall pleasant experience. Location is great. Walking distance to cafes. Front staff are excellent on the phone and in person. Place is pretty old and the rooms are nothing special however they're pretty clean. Complimentary continental breakfast was very nice - eggs, potatoes, cereal, muffins, toast, juice and pretty good coffee.

But a Seriously dated hotel!! Doesn't look clean as everything is so old. Breakfast was horrible.

Not the best not the worst. You get what you pay for. Room was nice enough, clean and spacious. The pool and hotub was under renovation when I was there; but I've been in it before and the outdoor pool is pretty cool! Overall not too bad

Hotel was quite and clean. Our first room had issues with hitting, but front desk gave us another room after short conversation. Rooms are small, but more than enough for its purpose and price. Building and rooms are old, but bed was comfortable to sleep in.
Thanks!

Decent enough place for the price. Most furniture and decor are outdated and the tv's in the room are quite small, however the rooms were quite clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend staying here especially if on a budget.

Booked a pet friendly room through Hotels.com. The room was clean-a bit dated but comfortable and the staff were super friendly. A hot breakfast was available each morning, which was a bonus. However, this place is not non-smoking as advertised. The smell of marijuana was really bad - inside and outside.

I didn't like the beds though. I found them uncomfortable. I guess you get what you pay for.

Horrible cleaners. Found hairs in both rooms bathrooms before we had even used them. Not enough outlets for their tvs lamps microwave etc... Comfy bed. Ineffective heater. Good tv with hdmi port to watch netflix via a computer on.

I have just returned from the Voyager Inn at Banff. It was one of the worst places I have stayed. Arrived from a lengthy flight from the US at 1:30 and was told in a nasty tone "you cannot check in until 4:00". I was thirsty and had to use a bathroom but was told "there's one down the hall." The front desk staff and I mean every last one of them were rude and nasty and were no help. The rooms has not been updated since the 80's, no fans or air-conditioning and the free internet never keeps a connection. The beds have old spring mattresses and are uncomfortable. Skip the nasty complementary breakfast. If you opt to buy the $11.00 breakfast, save your money, its no better.
Spend a few extra dollars and go further up Banff Ave. and you can find better else where.
This place needs to be placed under new management.

Great price, but very dated. Staff was friendly but the coffee was terrible. Walls are super thin and other guests are not at all considerate which of course is not the managements fault. Will not stay here again.

NOTHING LIKE PICTURED we were very disappointed about how misleading the photos of the hotel were. It was old, small, dark and nothing like what we had expected for our Banff vacation. We immediately called the front desk after entering the room and asked to cancel and be refunded. They told us that was no problem but that we needed to just call Expedia to be refunded. So we booked a new hotel down the road. BUT the refund never happened we stayed on hold with Expedia for 2 hours. If we had known we would be paying for 2 hotels... needless to say we were unimpressed with the lack of effort in customer satisfaction

No elevator to 2nd floor, you have to take all luggage up the stairs. No air conditioning in room, only has fan available. Breakfast included and pretty good to start off your day. Hotel is at the end of Banff Ave which is away from the tourist area but very close to the highway.

Very loud hallways at night. The thermostat kept making a weird ringing noise until I took the cover off. The corner of the ceiling had one spot that either was never cleaned and was really dusty or had mold growing on it. I guess you get what you get for a cheap hotel in banff.

Staff was friendly, but sadly that did not make up for it's short comings.
It did not smell or feel clean. Walls are super thin. You could hear conversations from the floor above. The one night I was their I had to complain twice about the party going on above me. The first complaint they did nothing.

Stuffs are really nice, however, the hotel is sucks. Tissue in my room is like this... no water/kettle in the room, quilt is dirty. Because we r in the tour group, we have no choice . It s In the end of the road, kind of far away to the town central ( restaurant ), if u with ur family, children and old people. Better don t choose this Inn. Only one star, give to STUFFS

Very noisy, day and night. Couldn't figure out how to use the tap in the sink and the shower at first (pull out to for water and turn knob for water temperature change.) Rooms are a little small. Overpriced (according to room quality.) But offers free Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking, and a pool. The parking lot is really tight for large vehicles. It has no elevator to the second floor (most of the rooms are on the second floor.) Free breakfast is actually good. Cleanliness should be improved. Needs faster WiFi because the one there is as slow as a snail.

PLEASE ADD AN ELEVATOR!!! IT'S SO TIRING TO CLIMB THOSE STAIRS!!!!!

2 stars because free breakfast was actually good (surprisingly.)

Very old inn desperately needing a renovation. No air conditioning only a portable fan in the room. Probably the ugliest inn in the area. Toilet flushed very slowly. Tub has old stains. Water temperature is mostly ice cold, takes a long long time to warm up if switching for hot water. Only 2 towels in the room for 4 people we had to ask for extra from front desk. Lack of glass cups in the room only 3 plastic cus and 2 paper cup. The beds were clean though.

Aweful place to stay at. Staff are rude and not helpful at all. Late night staff are especially bad. We would not recommend. We were charged extra at the front counter and rooms are particularly small and not very clean.

Save your money and stay away!

Good location easy to get too. Good sized rooms, clean, nice, enough space, plus a balcony. Parking is great, undercover parking, enough spaces. The one thing I found odd is that the place has a bottle shop attached to it. I found it weird that people could come in and buy alcohol, and still have access to the rest of the rooms. Breakfast was a bit of a mess, lots of people coming in to the room and not having enough space to seat them all. Besides that, good amenities, gambling was available, which I also found odd.

The Banff Voyager Inn was an amazing accommodation to stay at whilst in Banff. The rooms are nice and modern and able to withhold the Canadian cold. Despite not being directly in the town centre it's only a 15 minute walk to access all the shops, restaurants and entertainment in Banff town. Otherwise there is a public bus 1 just out the front that takes you to town for $2 or $5 for an all day ticket. The free ski shuttles buses also arrive just outside the accommodation providing you with free shuttles to Sunshine, Norquay and Lake Louise. Free ski/snowboard storage on site and a nice breakfast provided at the restaurant.

The place doesn't have an elevator which is tough for some individuals. The rooms are mediocre. The cleanliness is questionable with stains on the sheets and counter tops. It's located a bit away from downtown banff so not the most convenient but one of the least expensive places so you pay for what you get. With that being said I still assumed there would be a standard of quality.

The inn was very accomadating for a last minute pet friendly room. Our balcony faced a wall but only a few steps and you can see beautiful Banff all around you. Close to eveything and was cheaper than we were originally told on the phone which was a nice suprise!

Ok hotel. Got pool, indoor spa and sauna. But their internet is HORRIBLE! It is frustrating. Can't even browse the internet normally, feels like 1997... Please dear hotel get on the highway speed internet. It is really annoying.

Low end room but as expected for the price. The bathroom tub continuously dripped and the toilet continuously filled after every flush so we had to take the back off of it after every use. There was a hockey team with young children staying there and they booked them rooms surrounding us instead of giving them their own wing. They were using the hallway as their own party area, drinking and loudly talking for hours. We called the front desk to ask for them to intervene so we could sleep and they did the first time. 3 hours later they came back to the hallway where they resumed and left empty beer cans laying all over the carpet. We woke to them again 7 am, kids screaming and running down the hall and all the moms standing outside our door having a loud conversation. It was completely inappropriate and very inconsiderate. The hotel staff should have intervened when they saw how disrespectful the group was being to other guests and should not have booked us a room in the middle of the group. All that aside the staff was friendly and We had a lovely dinner and drinks in their lounge. Would not recommend if you re looking for a nice quite stay.
