Very disappointing experience with interview
Very chaotic and disappointing experience with the interview.
Was invited by e-mail to attend personally and even if I asked to do online interview, recruiter insisted to come to the site.
It took me 5 hours to get there (bus + train + underground) and spend quite a lot of money just to discuss I am not good fit for the role as I AM WAY TOO CREATIVE.
Was interviewed by a lady (I won’t be naming), that I personally felt like was not having great experience or expertise in the field. I was told that the role involves ONLINE PRODUCTION that includes integrating graphics, subtitles and final polish (color grading etc.), which is in fact POST-PRODUCTION. As I insisted on my passion for creative and professional editing skills that I enjoy, I was still told role is about something completely different.
So please, get your fact straight before interviewing candidates for the role.
Another thing I very much disliked is that I was called Polish almost without a question mark even though I am in fact Czech. This is very inappropriate to ask someone straight off the bat based on someone’s surname, accent or appearance. Lady herself was not British herself so I don’t really understand what should I think off this and made me cringe inside.
I did not feel like staff viewed my portfolio as I was asked if I used Adobe After Effects, which is stated even in my CV.
I could go on and on. I am not happy with this experience and I felt judged based on assumptions made up by recruiter without actually reading thoroughly my CV, viewing my portfolio or asking me questions, that would answer their questions.
