We were there for Afternoon Tea as a special Birthday Treat for my husband it was delicious from start to finish.
A beautiful historic hotel with a bagpiper playing at the entrance.
Very expensive tea, nice looking hotel, close to shopping area
Lovely hotel. Love the christmas decorations. Super friendly and helpful.Nice and central to the mall, train station and many tourist attractions.
Very good night. Was there for a society ball. Staff were very nice and the food was excellent
Spectacular menu, service and food. It exceeded our expectations. The price is amortized.
I love this hotel. It's located right near everything and within easy walking distance to anything you want and need. The hotel is gorgeous and my room is lovely and huge by European standards. The staff understands customer service and Jack at the front desk is delightful. I highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice, elegant and spacious but I fortunately we did stop here. Another day
Atmosphere was great but it took over 25 minutes from ordering drinks to them being delivered. Potentially they had a lot going on in other rooms but the bar area did not seem to be too full.
thankyou
to the wonderful staff they where the most considerate ,helpful going out of their way to to ensure everyone had a fantastic time .The food excellent, service out of this world .10/ out of 10 for first class experience..thankyou mj campbell scottish writer /campaigner
Great. They treat you like Royalty.Lovely place. Like a Palace really.
We stayed for two days for an anniversary and it was delightful. We ate in the restaurant, stopped for cocktails, and had a delightful time.
The only negative I would say was the price of breakfast, which we didn't try, instead opting for breakfast in the city, stone's throw from the hotel.
Celebration dinner for 50th anniversary of Carrington Curling Club. Lovely location. Great service and helpful staff made it a very successful event. Very good price too.
Only used the cocktail bar
When it comes to paying the bill service charge added
Why??
Excellent and welcoming staff, worth it for the location alone. Central to everything in town
Worth every penny, yes it is expensive but the service, food, and comfort of the balmoral is outstanding. Every need was catered to with efficiency and hospitality. The food was delicious that in fact we ate breakfast lunch and dinner every day because it never got old. The location is also exceptional, in the heart of Edinburgh but not amidst the craziness of the all the city has to offer. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to travel in luxury.
Afternoon tea in Palm Court is one of the premiere afternoon teas on the city. They look after you so well. I have never had a problem with any dietary requirements presented. All staff are always well mannered and delightful. A must do in my books.
This hotel is great spent 3 nights there inbound and another on the outbound leg of my trip. They are up the stairway of Waverly train station and less then 1 minute walk. They made me a car rental, got a discount, they had the car delivered to the hotel to me, then when I came back I just dropped it at the hotel, they delivered my final receipt to my room. Excellent staff throughout hotel, good food breakfast was excellent. Your 15 minute walk from the castle and lots of stuff to see within walking distance. Concierge is great at the hotel for help.
Love love love this hotel. Its architecture is stunning. One of the best landmarks of Edinburgh. The location is just the best which is on the shopping street, Princess Street. Walking distance to/from the Royal Mile even to the castle in just 5-15 minutes.
The room is clean and spacious. I got welcome letter with a plate of chocolate and a box of cookies in my room. That's just sweet. The staffs are warm and helpful. I remember the two friendly front desk staffs - Sally & Greg - were welcoming us with warm heartful smiles.
The buffet breakfast doesn't give us much options as in normal 5 star hotel but it gibes us healthy optiona and it's enough for me.
Hope to be back.
Beautiful venue with excellent service, but very expensive! Be prepared!
Amazing place. Right where you want to be to walk to everything. Rooms have been redone and updated. Staff...amazing. will do anything and everything for you.
A brilliant hotel with very conscientious staff. The cocktail bars are brilliant though very busy and you can't book a table.
The building is unreal as was the service and rooms to be honest.
Enjoyed afternoon tea in the Palm Court and it was absolutely lovely!
Lovey hotel actually spent my wedding night there 40 Yeats ago when it was called north British.
Classy venue, rooms with magnificent views, exquisitely polite staff. We eat very well
Had a whisky tasting at The Balmoral. Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff.
Pure awesomeness. My friend and I had an amazing experience at the Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh. We felt so valued, excellent Service. Well worth a visit. 5
Friendly staff, fabulous cocktails and food. Comfortable enough rooms but better value facilities wise.. Eg spa/restaurant. Central location makes it so handy for everything and Sean Connery is all over the bathroom walls which has to be a good thing.
Palace of great renown on edimburgh, but not for all budgets alas restaurant included too expensive but architecture and magnificent it seems that unfortunately the rooms are classic, even worse decorated modern forgotten the Harris Potter atmosphere
Could it be any more fun than to have afternoon tea here?! The teas were so flavorful and the food (forgot to photo the sandwich tray), was very nice, presented well and lovely harp music to accompany the experience. The waitresses were all really sweet and helpful!
Best customer service. Suites recently refurbished.
Very pricey but worth it for special occasions. Food was excellent as was the service. Would definitely recommend for any memorable celebrations.
Excellent afternoon tea. The staff were just as good, overall a first class experience.
was made to feel very welcome. service was top quality
Had afternoon tea was fabulous staff excellent wonderful afternoon
Worked there as maintance great place to work friendly staff beautiful boutique rooms.
Such a beautiful hotel and great staff.
The room was overlooking the castle and prince's street. What a stunning view! The room was immaculately clean and had just been refurbished with almost everything inside it from Scottish designers, a very nice thought. Highlights included an beautiful deep bath, staring into the sunshine from the sofa and I even found an interesting book in the little bookcase!
We spent our evening in the hotel, first enjoying the great in house snacks (seaweed, cheese popcorn and nuts) served alongside the Innis & Gunn beer at the Balmoral Bar. After that we ate dinner in Hadrian's Brasserie, the Blaigowrie beef, the chicken and the smoked salmon are all highly reccomended. The chateaubriand Straka and the smoked salmon starter were both carved at the table. Later on, the guys behind the Scotch bar were knowledgeable, sincere and very witty... or maybe that was the 500 malt whiskies talking.
Service everywhere was incredible. One staff member recognised us in the street and stopped to wish us a safe journey home. I really don't think I can fault anything about this stay- apart from the fact I forgot to take pictures of anything in the hotel.
The best place with a great location stayed here for 2 nights but overpriced & was a little filthy. the reception at the entrance was kind also the view from the rooftop was stunning!
I would have rated this hotel 5 star but after taking so much of fare of hotel they are charging 35 pounds per night I am staying in 653 hopefully they do something
The Palm Court in Balmoral for Afternoon Tea is a must for a beautifully presented in luxurious surroundings treat. Food was really lovely and plenty of it tea and coffee on tap and service excellent.Certainly the best in town xxxx
Coffee and opera cake, nothing to praise here, was ordering 20 mins before kitchen opened so they kindly provided me with the cake but I wish I hadn't bothered, nothing to write home about.
Beautiful day, held our wedding afternoon tea here. The staff couldn't be more helpful and they made it such a gorgeous occasion for us. Couldn't recommend more
Gorgeous hotel, very attentive and friendly staff. Good food. Fabulous location in fabulous city.
A great place to enjoy a rare scotch right in the city centre
Great food, EXTREMELY poor service. Had to ask 3 times for tea when I went there for afternoon tea!
Fantastic afternoon tea in a wonderful environment and with incredibly professional and friendly staff! Do not miss this in Edinburgh!
Lots of function rooms, nice setting. Staff very friendly and food was decent.
A lovely afternoon in The Balmoral's Palm Court being served "afternoon tea". A perfect location for an extended catch up with a friend.
It is a very appropriate choice both in terms of location and service.
Good place, great food and a convenient location. Would definitely say it was worth the price. They have great facilitys and staff. Worth a visit.
Food, accommodation , service all excellent, mind blowing
Stunning place. Great service, staff extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
Lovely historic building. Service is fantastic. A little in the pricey side though.
A great place for a drink - pricey, but beautiful surroundings and great service make up for it. I've been to many weddings here and find the service and food is always brilliant.
My daughter treated myself and her Auntie Anne to a Champagne Afternoon High Tea and the whole experience and beautiful ambiance of the Palm Court was just fantastic. The staff looked after us and special mention to Daniel from Brazil who put us at ease straight away! We felt very special by all the staff and loved all the whole experience.
The food was excellent and the service was both professional and warm without being overbearing
The Belmoral is great, the starred restaurant is brilliant and the whiskey bar is original. It is a pity that the room service is not correct. Although we didn't even touch the minibar, we were subsequently charged a charge of 50 for all kinds of drinks. Somebody does his special business there. This spoils the good impression afterwards
