I love this hotel. It's located right near everything and within easy walking distance to anything you want and need. The hotel is gorgeous and my room is lovely and huge by European standards. The staff understands customer service and Jack at the front desk is delightful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for two days for an anniversary and it was delightful. We ate in the restaurant, stopped for cocktails, and had a delightful time.
The only negative I would say was the price of breakfast, which we didn't try, instead opting for breakfast in the city, stone's throw from the hotel.

Worth every penny, yes it is expensive but the service, food, and comfort of the balmoral is outstanding. Every need was catered to with efficiency and hospitality. The food was delicious that in fact we ate breakfast lunch and dinner every day because it never got old. The location is also exceptional, in the heart of Edinburgh but not amidst the craziness of the all the city has to offer. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to travel in luxury.

Afternoon tea in Palm Court is one of the premiere afternoon teas on the city. They look after you so well. I have never had a problem with any dietary requirements presented. All staff are always well mannered and delightful. A must do in my books.

This hotel is great spent 3 nights there inbound and another on the outbound leg of my trip. They are up the stairway of Waverly train station and less then 1 minute walk. They made me a car rental, got a discount, they had the car delivered to the hotel to me, then when I came back I just dropped it at the hotel, they delivered my final receipt to my room. Excellent staff throughout hotel, good food breakfast was excellent. Your 15 minute walk from the castle and lots of stuff to see within walking distance. Concierge is great at the hotel for help.

Love love love this hotel. Its architecture is stunning. One of the best landmarks of Edinburgh. The location is just the best which is on the shopping street, Princess Street. Walking distance to/from the Royal Mile even to the castle in just 5-15 minutes.

The room is clean and spacious. I got welcome letter with a plate of chocolate and a box of cookies in my room. That's just sweet. The staffs are warm and helpful. I remember the two friendly front desk staffs - Sally & Greg - were welcoming us with warm heartful smiles.

The buffet breakfast doesn't give us much options as in normal 5 star hotel but it gibes us healthy optiona and it's enough for me.

Hope to be back.

Friendly staff, fabulous cocktails and food. Comfortable enough rooms but better value facilities wise.. Eg spa/restaurant. Central location makes it so handy for everything and Sean Connery is all over the bathroom walls which has to be a good thing.

Could it be any more fun than to have afternoon tea here?! The teas were so flavorful and the food (forgot to photo the sandwich tray), was very nice, presented well and lovely harp music to accompany the experience. The waitresses were all really sweet and helpful!

Such a beautiful hotel and great staff.

Such a beautiful hotel and great staff.

The room was overlooking the castle and prince's street. What a stunning view! The room was immaculately clean and had just been refurbished with almost everything inside it from Scottish designers, a very nice thought. Highlights included an beautiful deep bath, staring into the sunshine from the sofa and I even found an interesting book in the little bookcase!

We spent our evening in the hotel, first enjoying the great in house snacks (seaweed, cheese popcorn and nuts) served alongside the Innis & Gunn beer at the Balmoral Bar. After that we ate dinner in Hadrian's Brasserie, the Blaigowrie beef, the chicken and the smoked salmon are all highly reccomended. The chateaubriand Straka and the smoked salmon starter were both carved at the table. Later on, the guys behind the Scotch bar were knowledgeable, sincere and very witty... or maybe that was the 500 malt whiskies talking.

Service everywhere was incredible. One staff member recognised us in the street and stopped to wish us a safe journey home. I really don't think I can fault anything about this stay- apart from the fact I forgot to take pictures of anything in the hotel.

My daughter treated myself and her Auntie Anne to a Champagne Afternoon High Tea and the whole experience and beautiful ambiance of the Palm Court was just fantastic. The staff looked after us and special mention to Daniel from Brazil who put us at ease straight away! We felt very special by all the staff and loved all the whole experience.

The Belmoral is great, the starred restaurant is brilliant and the whiskey bar is original. It is a pity that the room service is not correct. Although we didn't even touch the minibar, we were subsequently charged a charge of 50 for all kinds of drinks. Somebody does his special business there. This spoils the good impression afterwards
