wont say they're a 1-star company, but their operations, speed, responsiveness, etc, are all pretty lackluster. Never had a hurricane/storm related issue, just random service and billing related issues.
At one point during renovating my rental, I threw the MAIN breaker (ie: power was hitting the unit, but the meter shouldnt have moved) for nearly a month. Powered for 3 days, that was it. Monthly bill was over $200, $30 higher than the month prior. If you research them at all, this is common practice - estimating your bill based on your neighbors. I asked that they actually read the meter, and they said they had. I said "ok, well, I used $200 of power in 3 days in a 900 sq ft condo. That'd imply I have an 800 amp industrial breaker in my 32 year old residential unit, and somehow used the equivalence of a dozen 1600 watt microwaves running full time for 3 days. Have a supervisor with a calculator handy?"
They came back and reduced the bill to $38, which still seems high, but honestly.. what can you do? Yay the state of utilities in this country.
