Excellent bread & the staff in the shop and on the market stalls are lovely & happy to make suggestions if you need them. Hard to pick a favourite but I can highly recommend the New York Deli Style, as well as their signature Covenantors. The cheese straw 'sticks' are almost addictive...approach with caution! :-) It's also been great that they've offered home delivery during this covid-19 emergency.

Whatever you sold me on a Farmer's Market looked like a tasty and crispy bread. I tried it straight after I came home and already struggled to cut it. I cannot even squeeze it this morning - it's like a brick! My very first Google review but I wanted to make sure you know that I am feeling cheated for buying your bread. Never again...

Fantastic artisan bread. I recommend their massive rye sourdough (covenanted) , you can ask for a quarter and they charge by weight, which is great in case you get a massive air bubble on your bread! Range of delicious breads and pastries. More

Breads definitely tasty and so are the pastries. Unfortunately the place is full with flies sitting on the baked products. I was so disgusted last time I visited that I thought enough is enough. To top this up, the girl who serves at the counter touches bread with her bare hands. :( Very poor hygiene which is a shame for a place with so tasty bread. I am surprised none of the customers who go there never complained about the fact that bread lies there exposed to all these insects.

I was looking for an home bakery shop and came across Andante while walking in Morningside. As soon as I walked in I was struck by the beauty of the blond lady baker, which distracted me! I took a pastry with mixed vegetable in it, which by just looking at it looked really good, then I got a slice of pizza with mushrooms and peppers on it. I only then realized that all they make is vegetarian stuff. I was really disappointed by that! I paid by contactless, and while I was distracted by the lady's beauty she didn't say how much it was and I just paid. I then checked my bank account and I was charged almost 9 pounds for just 2 veggie things that I could have made at home for 3 pounds. They didn't even taste good, the vegetables were almost raw!!

I love the bread from here - especially the salt/rosemary sourdough always on the front counter. I frequently take it up to my workplace where it is devoured by my workmates. It is so delicious that it can be eaten on its own without anything to accompany it.

The words do not describe the taste of these products. Poetry. Go, try it. They do not use baking enhancers. I bought a 30% rye bread. I'm looking for rye bread50%. Fresh is great. My favorite is rye bread which is already one day after baking. Why? Only then will you feel the real taste of bread. The acid and rye does its job. I recommend these bakeries

Good bakery for Edinburgh standards but every time I go there on a weekend my orders are always either cold or a bit on the stale side. Could be the weekend, but I would expect a bakery to sell fresh and warm food every day.

Best fresh bread in #Morningside. If you are in the area go there and buy some. Taste great fresh bakery treats as they're meant to be rather than as made in a factory. A huge plus for the local area.
