This is the best location in town!! As with any older hotel, the rooms are a little older, but nice. The train did wake us up, but that is why gave us ear plugs. You can't beat the location. We will defiantly be back!! Winter Park is a great getaway.

Very very small room. Absolutely no view other than a block wall. Noisy noisy noisy with lots of traffic and horns honking and to top it off a train going a hundred miles an hour shaking the bed with the whistle blowing throughout the night. Definitely would not recommend and very pricey for what you get

Very disappointed with staff after being conned into booking the most expensive room in the hotel for my 85 year old aunt and her sister - the honeymoon suite. Once I realized what the booking agent at the hotel had done, I contacted them asking for a fair adjustment in price since all other Park Avenue rooms were available. They ignored it. I am a Winter Park resident, so if they would do this to me, imagine how they treat out-of-town guests. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Go elsewhere! It's not worth the price gouging! AND, no parking is available to boot!

The hotel is located in an easy walk from great restaurants and stores, the staff was extremely friendly, and the decor is very cozy. I will warn you, it's on a set of train tracks and they blast their horns several times a night, so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs! That's the only downside I experienced.

Five stars. The low ratings on this boutique European-style 1920 s hotel is a shame. I ve stayed here twice recently and absolutely loved it. Staying here is a full experience, very similar to boutique hotels and inns I ve stayed at in Paris. In fact, a stay at Park Plaza in Downtown Winter Park is by far the closest to a European experience you can get in Florida. From the rich woodworking, to the turn-of-the-century style elevator with gate, the wrap-around balcony with ferns and flower boxes, the low drone sounds of the outdoor cafes below, the warm croissants delivered to you each morning, you d think you were in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. If you have traveled abroad and/or appreciate old world charm, you will love it. If you are expecting modern, go pay more for Alfond Inn or a chain hotel out by the interstate. But in my opinion by doing that you are missing the point and full experience of visiting a charming village like Winter Park. To address the complaints ... twice I ve stayed here with my daughter who is a very light sleeper and not once have we had an issue with the train. We ve always stayed on the street side instead of the park side, which faces the station, and not once have we been woken up or bothered by it. The front desk and bellboy staff has always been friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are extremely clean and well furnished. Both times we ve been in a king suite and they are spacious and inviting. Beds are comfortable. Yes the bathrooms are relatively small, but see above about old world charm and European-esque accommodations. Yes the TV is small - but why are you watching TV? The walls are thin but they do a good job spreading their bookings out so unless you are there during an event when they are booked full you likely won t have an issue with this. One night we had an issue with a rowdy group next door and the front desk staff took care of it immediately for us when we brought it to their attention. This group would have most likely would have caused an issue in any hotel however. We love Park Plaza Hotel and have so much fun with our new tradition of riding the Amtrak train down from Jacksonville right into the heart of Winter Park, and enjoying a car-free weekend of shopping, dining, strolling, and culture and entertainment based out of Park Plaza. Looking forward to our next visit!

This place is a huge rip off. It costs $199 a night plus pet fees of $50 a pet. No parking so pay $12 a night parking valet. Breakfast consists of a croissant , orange juice, tea and coffee. Trains run by blasting horns every thirty minutes. Workers hammer , drill and saw on the other side of the wall starting at 8 am.

Worst of all after leaving we learned they are charging us a $250 clean up fee as a dog got some feces on a sheet. So does a sheet cost $250? No $40 so they charged us $210 more than they should. Plus the great lunch restaurant across the street charges $10 for a house salad!!!

So all in all they charged us over $400 for one night in an old noisy hotel. We were in room 201 which they say sleeps four but I had a queen bed and my wife a single bed so three people max.

The bathroom was very small. One ten inch tv with only one available channel.. USA as I tried the up and down channel buttons.

So the worst lodging in my 74 years ever!!!. The price was about like staying in NYC Waldorf Astoria or Trump Tower.

So We will never stay there again at the super rip off hotel . If I could I would rate this place minus a thousand as the absolute worst. The only reason we stayed there is we had very short notice and there were no other places to stay obviously because good ones were taken leaving the worst ever available. We noticed only one other room occupied in the whole hotel but maybe there were others??

So we made $200 and lost a total of $200+ on this bad business trip.

Next time stay at our usual nice reasonable cost Quality Inns with free parking, nice hot breakfast, two queen beds, nice bathrooms, nice 30 TVs with many channels all for $70 a night plus points.

I would not recommend this hotel for a business traveler. It is extremely noisy and it s not just a train. Single pain windows along a busy street in two sides. Noisy bar across the street.

Absolutely awful. I stayed there on December 15th 2013 on the night of my wedding in the honeymoon suite. The room was decent with a big bed, but dusty and dingy. In the middle of the night the AC in the room next to us (which had no one in it) was rattling and required a front desk call in order to get it fixed. Then the next morning I made a call to have our continental breakfast delivered and the staff completely forgot about us. I called again after 30 minutes and the meal was finally delivered another 15 minutes after that. This "continental breakfast" consisted of 2 muffins and coffee. All of this for a grand total of $350.00. Completely not worth it and was a terrible start to our marriage. Don't waste your time with this hotel there are plenty of other better hotels to stay at in Winter Park.
