Bacchus and Venus Reviews

Until recently we lived in the heart of the wine country and have been members of many, (perhaps dozens) of wine clubs over the years. They have come and gone but the one constant in our wine world is Bacchus. Whether you are a novice or a knowledgeable wine buyer, they have you covered. If you are someone who loves wine and are just in Sausalito for the day this is a place that will make you feel very comfortable, no pretense. You will leave having tasted great wines that you have never heard of and you will leave knowing enough to be dangerous for your next grocery store visit back home. Good gift shopping too, if that's your thing.

Awesome store, awesome staff and awesome selection of wines. Their wine club is outstanding!

Great store with lots of novelty items. I am excited to frame and hang the wine map we bought, along with a few other gift items. Marcia (sp) was very helpful and I failed to grab the lady's name at the bar, but she appeared helpful and was pleasant toward the customers who were wine tasting. I would LOVE to return and will suggest to others!!!

Have been there every trip to San Francisco love it great knowledge of wines great store art shop plan on going on my next trip in three weeks.Also I get to order my favorite Chardonnay from Bacchus & Venus and send your friends for special occasions

Taylor Morgan did an amazing job with our wine tasting. She also made a cheese board that was artistically beautiful and delicious. It was a perfect experience!

We absolutely loved this wine tasting experience. The selection of was amazing! Their Zinfandels were off the charts. It was refreshing to have the staff give us space to enjoy our wine on our own giving us just enough information. Lovely staff. Not overbearing. We will return for this truly tasteful experience.

Dropped by one day to pick up a bottle of wine for our hotel, and the staff member was helpful at selecting a bottle within our price and taste. Came by the next day for a tasting (we did the $18 sampler) and had a great experience. We loved the 4 wines we tasted, and they had BOGO tasting offer. Staff member who did our tasting was knowledgable, kind, and helpful. We plan to go back next time we're in Sausalito!

From the moment we walked into the store, to the moment we left, staff was very rude, impolite, and displayed a very negative attitude. My friend asked about a wine and I had to jump in to explain because the woman serving us the wine did not care to explain in detail what type of wine that was. I was overcharged for the items that I had previously purchased and when I pointed it out to her, she did not seem to care. The wine is very good, but the negative environment stopped us from buying bottles, which I think the owners of this establishment should be concerned with.

Marcy and her staff do a great job ensuring customer satisfaction and their California wine selection is incredible. I also love the art gallery with some really cool works to browse. Thanks for a great experience!
