Aesthetically the airport is very nice, but it is very uncomfortable, the number of the gate makes it show only 45 minutes before the flight time, here you have to wait to know in which part of the airport you have to go .. For some gates c ' is to take a train, but if you make a mistake you have to call the assistance that will take you out of the airport and make you undo all the chekin .. A nightmare, I arrived 2 hours before and almost but the plane for these indications confusing

If you are on connecting flight, they will take all you have bought from previous airport duty free zone, even if you have all receipts and boading passes. Ugly staff as well. Try to avoid this place
Avoid this airport if you want to travel with infants. My baby was 13 months old with 3 teeth. I was not allowed to bring water in a baby bottle for preparing milk or porridge. Bringing baby fruit and baby meal was a problem as well. Queue to the security check is ridiculously long. No exception for traveling with infants.
Good convenient airport. Facilities all right (could be on more places) normal staff, fast security check (despite huge amount of passengers), nice shop zone. It deserves more than 2 stars on reviews.
No common sense going though security they think we are stupid and have no consciousness. With your plastic bag stupid rule one bag and it needs to be sealed. If it can't seal it I can put in second plastic bag my hygiene stuff and seal then but no you have to be rude and talk to people like we are kindergarten children.
I showed up early because I read that they were very slow and nothing to do. In the safety line the very attentive workers. I carried a product with liquid and very kindly told me how to do it. All fast (and that there was a fire alarm for a few minutes). Now I have 2 hours ahead to pay attention to people who write nonsense. It works perfectly
Years ago this was beautiful terminal. Today, after botched refurbishment, interior lost its appeal. Additionally it is overcrowded, there are queues everywhere.
Terrible airport, delayed flights, you have to wait over one hour for luggage, do not leave children's carriages under the plane, you just have to pick them up for oversize, which means that the child needs to be carried. The stairs lead down to the plane so there is no chance for the trolley alone. One big disaster! I've never been to a worse airport.
Great airport to travel from fantastic staff the moment we stepped into the place everyone was so helpful as it was our first time flying from Stansted from arriving at the long stay car park through to the departure and return we had no problems what so ever Our local airport is Birmingham but due to cost Stansted was cheaper to fly from with our package holiday we traveled for 2 1/2 hours and I would not hesitate to travel from here again it puts Birmingham to shame
Worst wifi sing up ever saw. You need to say almost everything to connect and after that it doesnt connect anyway keep dropping down even the phone signal is bad. Need more toilets and better look. Other was fine.
It's just an airport like everyone else. It is like any other airport. Completely overpriced food and drinks. The shops are very nice and nice to look at, but I wouldn't buy anything there. Unfortunately, also completely overpriced. But at which airport that is not the case. It's surprisingly clean for an English airport, you really can't say anything about it. Please keep your hands off the ATMs, fees are charged here that were not really clear before. Any transaction and conversion fees which are then debited 2 or 3 times. So stay away. It is about 60 minutes by train to London and actually quite a nice route.
After travelling around the world this year, I am surprised to find this is the worst airport for flight delays I have ever been to. Every flight I have taken from Stansted in the last 5 years has been delayed by at least 1 & 1/2 hours. Utter shite.
Positives: convenient location from M11, ok for travel into London. Great locations to travel to, great value flights. Lots of food options in terminal. At quieter times there is great choice. Used meet and greet parking which was really handy and fast but not cheap!
Negatives: Huge queues at every point. Security has massive queues. Terminal was very crowded, it s not always this busy but 4pm on half term Sunday and it took a while to find a table. Ended up in Wetherspoons with the kids! Return through passport control was the worst. We arrived at midnight and they had two queue options. The E-passport queue where you could go straight through. Problem is this is for over 12s only so we, along with hundreds of other tired and young families heading home after half term, had to queue up and down the snake queue system. It did move quite quickly but probably took 25-30 minutes. But just a miserable end of the journey. I ve also previously waited in this queue up to an hour even for the electronic system and travelling solo. Each time I come to stansted I think they ll sort this out but they don t seem to be working on improvements.
In my opinion, the best airports are the ones that get you into the terminal quickly and off the plane and out of the airport quickly at the other end. And stansted almost always fails at this.
Very poor wifi (no mobile phone signal either), overcrowding in security and departures with little to no seating. Public transport links are very over priced but quick and easy into central London. The airport has deteriorated a lot since being bought by MAG. Food options are limited.
A garbage from the airport, we arrived very fair and we almost missed the flight because of the control, please asking us to hurry and even more slowly. A garbage airport, we arrived very fair and almost lost the flight because of the control, asking please hurry up and even slower. Fatal to bad experience
-CRIMINAL PARKING SURCHARGES 50,00 GBP for "OVERSTAY" -horrible unfriendly security check and search is just disgusting and intimidating. -no normal banks ONLY COMPLETE RIP-OFF CURRNECY EXCHANGE -everything very expensive. -RYANAIR & EASYJET RIP-OFF AIRLINE TRY CHARGING 50gbp for CHECK IN PRINT OUTS - ALSO FOR PEOPLE WHO MISSED THEYRE FLIGHT RA/EJ TRY TO CHARGE THEIR FRIENDS WHO ARE PRESENT !?!?!
+AVOID AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU ARE FLYING VEEEEEERY CHEAP
it has always been unpleasant to fly but the cost need to stay LEGAL AND SOMEHOW JUSTIFIED AND OVERSEEABLE.
It gets EXTREMELY packed. It is in a terrible location. God forbid your carry-on bag gets flagged going through security because you could wait up to an hour to have it checked. I observed staff being visibly unfriendly and borderline hostile to regular people. If you want a discount flight to somewhere in Europe, then this is your place and you get what you pay for. Virtually no charging stations, limited toilets, and cruddy wifi. (Great shopping and food options if you can deal with the waits and tourists though)
Just google for the MoneyCorp ATMs. They say no commission but charge you 34% exchange rate markup. How can this be legal? How can the UK ever been a part of the EU?
Very bad. Ugly, far away, badly served, closed at night (open only the waiting room with no chairs), baggage check by misguided bad and annoying. To get to London there is a bus that runs through streets with a thousand curves for hours and is very expensive. Certainly the worst airport in London and one of the worst and ugliest in the world. Go there only if the savings are considerable (at least 100 euros on the journey otherwise leave it alone).
For a major airport Stansted management should be ashamed of themselves. It is generally overcrowded and immigration took over 30 minutes to clear. I certainly will never use it again. Take a look at Bristol and see how things are done properly.
Not quite hell - battling this out with Luton, but can be poor at times. But what do you expect from a budget airport serving Ryanair and Luton that's not actually in London.
I landed to this airport for my one-day London trip. My plane was on time, the airport is very big but it s easy to find a way to get out, to get a taxi, to get to the parking place, to get the train (Stansted express). The airport was very clean and there was free WiFi. Announcements were clear. I didn t had to walk to my plane cause a bus took me there and this is a very great service. Security agents at the security controls were kind and didn t put me on anxiety while asking me to open my backpack. There were a lot of parking spaces available. It s nearer to London city center than the London Gatwick airport. The airport is well connected with the center of London Both with taxis, trains and buses. Info point are available all across the airport . Money exchanges points and ATMs charge extra to use their services. Multi language signs and warnings. The worst part was just the UK border that took a lot of time even if I m EU citizen, so basically you just need your ID to enter in the country. Shops with food and souvenirs can be found immediately after the security controls. Cellular service wasn t that great and I found hard to make calls, send texts or surf the internet. Getting to the airport from the center of London take almost 45 minutes via motorway. If someone comes to take you from the airport it will be easy for him/her to find you cause arrivals space is very big. So the airport was pretty good and didn t mean to be a problem for my one-day trip to London.
