Well staffed and plenty of sanitiser available. Very peaceful with few passengers.

Terrible airport stansted express constantly delayed or cancelled with no notice. Flights delayed for three hours at non rush hour try to avoid flying out from here if the price difference isnt big!

You arrive at the airport and you feel like you have landed to bad reality TV show episode being filmed at a cattle pen. The queues to toilets are long, the seating is nonexistent and the only lounge there is, is always full.

Avoid if possible.

Time queuing at the border control is longer than the flight to get there. The difference in price for low cost is paid at the parking fees. Add a new runway to both Gatwick and Heathrow, then destroy this awful airport that brings shame to the UK.

Completely useless people working on the fast track - the man who selling tickets thinks he is master of the world and deliberately doing everything slow as possible to pisse you off when you are really hurry... fast track is one big comedy - waste of money and time... the same is with security check...

Very very bad experience in this airport!! Long time waiting and no patience from staff!!! Not to mention the inconsiderate basic equipment of this airport!! Never want to be here in the future.

Avoid if possible, the train to the airport is expensive, it takes too long and the airport itself is not managed well. Long queues and inefficient staff.

Airport fine, Ryanair unsafe, masks patchy, people too close together, generally uncaring about public safety. Avoid

No bad for my husband and me. A long queue in the departure checkout but it was quick and we had no problems.

Large and very busy airports especially for low cost companies. A great deal of overpriced duty-free shops that you have to go through. Gate will be heard 45 minutes before departure. Getting into the air classically over the area.

Really swift getting through check in. Was running behind and it made it much less stressful

Very crowded and inefficiently run. Chaotic check-in with agents directing people to other check in areas than displayed on the screens. Toilets were filthy, no place to sit anywhere, but much attention was paid to direct customers to commercial areas via a spiralling walkway.

Has to be the worst of the London airports. If you like Queueing and confusing sign posting then come here. Mission to get to from anywhere, if you drive you've to pay quite a lot to park a good 10 minutes walk from the terminal. The trains are intermittent at best. From security to the gates it's just one big Queue fest. The layout of the duty free is awful too. Returning, there are unnecessary Queues for passport control, half of the automatic gates are not switched on and then they kept failing when scanning peoples passports forcing all those into 1 Queue to get checked by one friendly guy but he was on his own as 3 other customs officers stood there just staring at everyone. Painful Painful experience but unfortunately the only airport that serves some destinations. Makes me really really appreciate Gatwick which is streets ahead of them all.

Horrible when it comes to contacting them on your luggage that was lost by them.

Airport? I felt more like I was in a store. I would no longer use it as the destination or departure airport.

Endless queues that never seem to move, very limited seating, stressed-out and rude staff and a location far from the city centre of London are all factors to make Stansted the worst of London's airports.

Plan to arrive at least 3 hours before your plane, the controllers open almost all the suitcases, they leave everything, really everything ..! Without this hurry ...
And they openly fuck your mouth if you tell them that you are missing the plane, really horrible ...
In addition, generally the airport is quite unpleasant, it is only a large mall or everything is excessively expensive ...

Pretty much the worst airport I ve ever experienced. Herded like cows, treated like dirt. Hate this place, unfortunately a necessary evil when it comes to budget airlines.

Luxembourg Stansted.
You have to be at the door even when the flight is delayed when there is no one at the passport control so 40 minutes to wait in the wind. Always change boarding gates without warning and planes are very often delayed.

This airport is always improving, but dose need more seating which are not related to cafes etc.

Easy accessible airport. Parking is expensive however the place is well laid out. Very user friendly too. Recommended..

Not the best airport. We had to wait 30 minutes for a long stay carpark to open for an early morning flight. On return passport control was incredibly slow with poor crowd control.

I have good memories of this airport. Yes, right after entering the number of people is terrifying, but just go a bit to find empty, spacious and clean places where you can sit, relax and even take a nap. As you sit in the restaurant area, it's no wonder that memories of a market in Bangladesh. A lot of cheap connections, helpful service, good interchange hub!

Airports Just too cold and no seating and you walk in you walk in the terminal, and it's a unfriendly airport not the best airport, I prefer Manchester Airport.

I want to tell you that I went with fear to take our flight for so many bad opinions they have written.
What a surprise I've taken, since I set foot in the airport everything was the best ...
The super attentive employees and wanting to help us for everything requested since we do not speak English.
They immediately called one of their Spanish-speaking classmates and I tell them that they are several!
They helped us to dispatch our bags and guided us in everything we requested.
I advise you to go and ask the girls, they are always attentive! and ready, the controls are like in all the airports, neither more nor less, just do not place things that are not allowed for the suitcases of hand and go with 3 hours before the Flight that way they will go from 10.
I do not put 5 stars because it has some missing things but not impresindibles.

Regularly travel from Heathrow & Gatwick but 1st experience with Stansted is not good at all... Tried parking at Mid-stay - but not available but there was no indication of it and the website kept pushing me to short-stay. Had to call - and kept trying for 60+ times till finally the call got thru ONLY to find that Mid-way and Long stay is all full! and I have no choice but to part in short-stay and pay thru the nose.
I run my own business and was trying to find ways to reduce travel costs - but I guess not. This is so far - without even flying. I wonder what experience I will have flying thru Stansted... will update and add more comments when I finally get to fly.
Lessons learnt: Pay more and fly with convenience from Gatwick or Heathrow and avoid Stansted.

This airport gets worse every year. It feels claustrophobic and overcrowded after the redesign. After security they guide you through like cattle along a cramped passage surrounded by a never ending series of shops. One of the worst airport experiences around.

Defeat. It's getting worse every year. The airport was not ready for arrival! Consequently, 40 minutes of waiting in a closed plane.

I have traveled a lot. And I have trod many airports but like the Stansted airport I have not seen anything like it.
Never again! Although it costs me the triple flight.
You arrive at midnight. Your flight leaves at six thirty in the morning and you find infinity of passengers like you lying on the ground. Children crying. Unhealthy toilets. The air conditioning to stop if you happen to get, despite all these adversities take a nap. As if that were not enough, from time to time two very kind gentlemen pass to remind you that you can not lie on the ground. Sitting yes, lying down no.
I have never been thrown out of an airport restaurant to clean up. Well, never no. Only in Stansted.
At half past two they deign to open the control doors and another odyssey begins.
They give you a bag of ridiculous dimensions so you can put all the containers of less than 100 ml and ..... They force you to close the bag because everything that does not fit in this once closed stays there.
Once this test is over, you will have access to boarding. While waiting, are you invited to sit in some armchairs? Wood that desensitizes your butt but if you still get to sleep you put the air conditioning on top to wake up.
If you pass this test then they send you to the boarding gate. Once inside they make you wait, crowded like the sheep, to the bus to take you to the plane that is in the fifth pine. Leaving the bus and again to queue to access the plane, yes, under that thick and cool fog typical of the morning London.
Once you get on the plane you are given a tour of the tracks of about 15 minutes, and I do not exaggerate, until you get to the runway
I cried with joy when the plane took off!

Parking is a mess. Watch out for 'meet and pickup' which is right next to short stay and same coloring. If you enter and go through to get to short stay, you have twice for parking.

I was lucky to arrive in the long stay car park and bus into terminal was OK but busy at 6am. Need plenty of time to catch train to gates and clear security. People kept waiting to board on steps, older peeps struggling. On return Ljubljanna airport showed how it could be with friendly helpful staff, but had to wait in Stansted for 3rd train before getting back to terminal and finding car!

RACISM TREATMENT AT THE HAND LUGGAGE CHECK

After a confusing info about the cabing bag policy with Ryanair I ve left liquids in my hand bag and when I went to sincerely apologize to the person who was checking my bag for my mistake I ve been answered that:

IN THIS COUNTRY NOTHING IS CONFUSING, WE OF THIS COUNTRY ARE UNDER STRICT RULES AGAINST TERRORISM

I ve tried to stop the guy in explaining that I was trying to apologize for my mistakes with the liquids that I ve left in my handbag and why it was so but it was too busy in telling me that foreign people should stay in them country and not in His country the UK..
By the way I ve been living in the UK since 6 years and I m a citizen ..

also because this people feel a lot in power about what all they can do against you that they feel allowed to treat you like a beast.. I m sure they have also heavy hard time by silly travels but that doesn t justify his Racist behavior towards me especially when I was really trying to apologize and thanks him for his work.

I am very upset with the strict security control at Stansted Airport. They did not let us pass a typical souvenir of Harry Potter Warner Studios (quite expensive), a snowy Christmas ball, we emptied the 2 balls completely, and the liquid did not reach even 100 ml.
It has been a traumatic experience for my daughters.
Nowadays, they should have a more accurate device and be able to visualize the contents of the object without requisitioning or emptying it.
What a disgust and I hope not to return to this airport.

Big and busy international airport parking easy on site though. Hate the twisty path though the shops which is becoming increasingly common at airports and just puts me off buying anything.

This place is a nightmare to travel through. Security was fine but it hides the ridiculously crowded and badly laid out departures lounge.
Too many shops. Not enough seats. And the seats that are there are right in the middle of the route to the gates so you have to trip over everyone.

Rude, ignorant, and discriminating staff at security checks.
Place feels to be like a immigration centre at times, what I mean by that is the feeling you have that you not sure if you are really in the UK that you used to know.

This is the worst airport I have ever been to from departure to arrival. The check in was OK but from there the hole operation is shocking. The security part I understand has to be done, but is so dis-organised with at least 10people putting there trays threw and then using 1 scanner. Leaving your belongings for anyone to have a pick from as you have to wait in a cue. The computer picked my son out to be security checked more he's 7 and we wasnt allowed to go with him. Then they stopped his bag because they suspected a hammer it was an aeroplane!!!. The bag was waiting to be checked and the staff were having a little chat about something unrelated to work rather than checking the bags which I pointed out to which I was told they wouldn't serve me I nearly missed my flight because of the hole security farce after arriving over 2hours before the gate closed. On arrival from Rome we were greeted with a massive walk and then wait in a que for 45mins to get threw passport control. Overall the Stansted experience was shocking and I will never fly from this hell hole again.

2am, flight from budapest. Toilets blocked, no soap or toilet roll, general disrepair. No epassport gates open- no reason given why, when asked. Queues of hundreds of europeans Awaiting 6 desks whilst financing 8 guards in the vicinity...? This is not a one off experience at stanstead... 2 stars however, as internal flights are generally hassle free... Welcome to the uk :/

Just awful! This is not an international airport, but a dirty hut. 1. The passenger hall stinks of sweat from thousands of people 2. Not only are there no air conditioners, but even in 25 degree heat no fans worked! 3. There is almost no seating! 4. Terribly long queues 5. Nervous staff (which is understandable, anyone would go crazy if he had to work in this hell) To sum up: Sensed Airport is designed for low cost flights and the whole atmosphere shows disdain for the passenger

Filthy, disorganized cesspool of an airport. Characterized by long lines and slow internet in the passport control area. Way too far out of London to be worth the effort.

As usual the automated passport control system didn't work. Stansted is an airport I avoid if I can, I would rather travel further to an airport than use Stanste

Everyone is very slow and the people at Security checks are very rude. Especially an older lady with short hair, took her time..shouted and joked about things people had in their bag and then used to disappear from time to time only to go make fun of people in line with her colleagues..when politely asked to return check bags by a traveler she replied that if he was late for his flight he should ve been there earlier..it was 6 am and most trains from central London don t depart until 4:30 am and take an hour to get to stansted..worst airport I ve ever been to for sure

We had difficulties to find the bus and the ID control took such a long time!

I heard of a library that was designed without taking into account the weight of the books. It sank into the ground. Stansted Airport have done the same. They have made it into a shopping centre without leaving space for any people. There is no longer any space to move or sit down. There are no windows. There are even bars above the shops to prevent you climbing out. It is a god awful place now. It deserves the same fate as the library.

Probably the worst airport experience ever had. I think greedy is probably the best way to explain this airport.
No seats.. Q's for every food court. Peolple missing flights because security is to busy.

Completelt disorganised! People waiting inside planes on tarmac to get disembarked for hours. Same with collecting luggage! They don t even know how long it may take (2.5hrs to collect luggage in the middle of the night with crying babies and people falling asleep while standing). Worst airport experience in the world!

A well-organized airport that can handle large crowds. Certainly "no frills" and no homely atmosphere, but it works!

I cannot confirm the negative reviews in terms of waiting times (security check and immigration).

The information on transit times in the terminal and to the gate is definitely not correct and can be dealt with much faster if you can walk well.

Experience is based on 2 trips to the UK in the past 3 years.

Been there twice in 2017, everything was good again!

It is not that bad but recently there was a failure of passport gates and there were large queues at 2:00 am. I also waited for my luggage. In addition to this airport in England I was on Gatwick and it was more efficient.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We were held up at security for 30 minutes while our bags kept getting sent through for more thourough security. When asking the security personnel what the issue was, they admitted they didn t even know. Turns out it was a deck of cards in the backpack that looked suspicious . Absolutely rediculous. Will never fly through here ever again, and would advise against it at all costs.

There is no USB for charging cell phones, it is not well marked and where there is USB it is broken.

Drop off/pick up point charges are an absolute con with nowhere else nearby to meet people for free.This is disgusting,more daylight robbery for the motorist. SHAME ON YOU STANSTEAD AIRPORT !!

Long queue for luggage check.
It took us a minute to get to our gate for a minute and we were not allowed to travel while one of our two tickets had already been hit.
"Will you come in alone or will you both stay here?" That's what the controller told my boy.

When escalators run faster than clearance. COULD OUR 4-YEAR-ON-SON JUST EXPLORE, SO THAT HE WAS NOT DESPRESENTED. No staff have been watching far and wide. About 30 people drove into each other. Does not work.

We got to the airport by Stanstedexpress train 1h30 before our flight with Ryanair. Security check went smoothly, the airport is not Big, well indicated. From the airport to city centre(Victoria station) we took the bus. Everything went good, I worried a lot when reading other feedbacks but all was good, no need to reserve 3h before departure. Would recommend this airport.

Very poorly educated employees. They yell at you for more than you have done nothing wrong. The worst airport I have to pass through. A disaster.
