Zero airport they missed us our plane. A crazy world to check baggage after 45 minutes of tail, second test baggage check in automatic version half of the baggage is returned to control. The control takes three lead 1 person per row and no hurry especially even if you tell him that your plane will leave! Last step go to the boarding gate after the shop stroll another 10 min walk to get there. As it is said above must arrive more than 2 hours in advance

I flew back into Stanstead on Monday night with Eurowings. After a good flight the whole experience was spoiled by a delay of over an hour for checked in luggage to reach the reclaim area. There was no manager on duty at 9pm, virtually no staff to be seen and no information available. I missed two trains because of the delay. In the end it would have been quicker for me to have flown to Heathrow and gone to East Anglia via King's Cross. The staff appear to be under great pressure so I shall try and avoid this airport in future

I was walking through epassport blue gates when stopped by a member of your team in uniform that resembled a swat uniform. She asked me to show her my passport, I was a bit confused as that never happened to me before but understandably checks happen. When I took my passport out, the lady exclaimed surprisingly Oh you are British and I said Yes, why? . Her reply was You look Romanian . So she stopped me because I looked Romanian which I am not, and even if I was, Romania is in EU and I have all the reasons to be in the EU epassport line. I was honestly just shocked by this response as this is borderline racism. She then proceeded to ask what my background is, when I said it is Russian she said well not British then and gave back my passport. This is unacceptable to imply that someone s passport needs to be checked because they do not look British nor is it okay to say I am not British because of my background. Truly appalling

Worst airport I've ever been on. Customs are terribly slow and really rude. I will never travel from Stansted again. The duty free is built in a way that you have walk past every shop before you can go to the gate. Even running it took us 15 minutes to get to the gate.

After one hour staying in the airplane and parking in the middle of nothing we were able to get out. Although we were just 15minutes late.
Than while waiting for our luggage facing with this luggages after the passport check. Some on them going to RUSH, some of them somewhere else. No matter. All the passengers are walking between them. Anyone can think whatever want.
I understand now how that 2 luggage been left in the leaving country

Security very slow. Immigration border crossing on the way back for Non-EU citizens takes ages. We had an infant and a toddler and waited for ages in line. No priority for families with infants and toddlers at border crossing is poor. Apart from that, it is fine, will try to avoid it in the future if possible though.

What was once a well designed and pleasant airport has been transformed into an awkward, badly run money sucker of a rabbit warren. Pay to drop off, pay to pickup, long queues, an endless snake of a mall without shortcuts - it's not inconceivable that spending a penny might soon cost a pound! Terrible experience - terrible! Will try never to travel through Stanstead again!

The worst airport ever! First and last time I will ever use this airport. Flight was 4.5 hours from landing to actually getting into my car at the Long Stay Car park 2.5 hours!!!!!

The staff on the customer Help desk have no customer service skills and are not worth the money they are being paid.

Keep well away from this Airport, people need to start making a point and make the Airlines look at where they are letting their customers down by allowing the airport to work like this.

After a lengthy check in at the airline desk, I lost my boarding pass at the security check in point. Thanks to the helpful staff to recover it behind their desk - this is why I am even giving a star for this rating. From tax refund, airline desk, customs security and waiting lounge, to the gate where the flight has to be delayed due to runway closure, it is an ultimate disaster.

I do not really know why this situation is not considered at the govenment but UK transport system is just awful. It simply does not work, there are always disruptions, strikes, engineering works, trains are always late, the flights are delayed. With the transport like that the country fails to deliver healthy and accountable business environment. The transport systems strongly needs rennovation and investments. The govenment needs to introduce state of emergency and start doing something finally and not just chattering.

Dear Queen,

Hope you will read this. The UK transport system will shatter into pieces if your government does not start to act no. The transport system requires attention urgently.

Missed my flight with Ryanair grom Stansted to Dor...

Missed my flight with Ryanair grom Stansted to Dortmund thanks to the airport staffs. The workers here just cant think or maybe they are just extremely ignorant. Was only connecting(1 hour 30 minutes) to another flight but still had to pass through immigration, check in my baggage again and after all that kept hold for about 30 minutes to check my backpack. Reason: my ipad was in the same container as my bag. WOW..How brilliant.

So far every time was an amazing experience. Even when airport experiencing the busy hours, way thru security took me a maximum of 30minutes. There is a lot of stores to choose from and time flies here really quickly. Also, I love their high ceiling.

If you fly with babies, DO NOT fly to Stansted. Even if it seems cheaper, pick Gatwick or Heathrow. Last flight has been a nightmare, with escalators turned off and NO elevators (!!??!!), unhelpful staff, long passport control time, NO train to and from the centre (good luck with spending 1.5 hours with a baby on a packed and overpriced bus replacement service). So, please, if you care about your mental and physical health, avoid Stansted if you can.

Few chairs for the many tired, waiting passengers. And the chairs they do have are so uncomfortable and poorly designed that your bum keeps sliding off. I know I'm lacking in sleep but I don't think I've forgotten how to use a seat... oh also they close off a section at night(not sure if its every night or just my luck) forcing everyone into a smaller space. I will be avoiding this airport for all future travels.

London Stansted and morning flights, just after six in the morning.
Nomadic morning traveler camps to Majorca, Burgas or Dubrovnik occupy the entire center of the hangar. The airport is not interested in the comfort of travelers. The seats are very uncomfortable. An eternally crowded place where even with a boarding pass you feel like the last intruder. There is nowhere to sit, where to rest before departure ...
"Tap water" in the economy version is 2 pounds. Just do not die of thirst. And so you sit and wait, banging on passers-by and they look after you, like on a big farm of stressed laying hens ... tens, hundreds, thousands of passengers ... And so every day ...

The airport is generally big, but at the same time too small for such a large number of people. Terrible crowds, dirty everywhere. Rather negative, although a big plus is the connection to the center of London, whether by bus, bus or rail which is the most expensive, but the fastest.

Absolutely APPALLING customer service and care at ...

Absolutely APPALLING customer service and care at the Stanstead airport.

Traveling to visit our family, while having a flu our 10 year old felt unwell and nearly fainted as we stood outside ready to board. The staff who were readily available were great and staid with us for nearly an hour after our daughter was laid up outside on the ground and got given some coke & sweets to make her feel a little better as she was very tired, didn't eat her breakfast and was feeling a big weak; HOWEVER we had to miss our flight because the captain wanted to ensure she was fine to fly and wanted a medical team to check her over and give us a go-ahead which is fair enough.

The problem was - we stood outside and it all happened 8:05am and the flight was meant to take off 8:35am - paramedics DIDNT arrive until 9:10!!!! consequentially we couldn't board the flight. The replacement we got offered was either the flight at the same time NEXT DAY or one at different destination at 17:30 today. We have selected todays flight despite the inconvenience this has caused for our family having to drive extra 2 hours to get to us. Ryanair, in their defence were great and re-booked our flight which is fantastic, however because of the Stanstead airport paramedics we are now having to spend 8 hours waiting for another flight which not so much as a free coffee, lunch or a wifi! We are exhausted having been up since 3am as it is - we were meant to be at our destination by now!

More over, we tried speaking to the customer service staff who said that it was not their fault for us missing the flight AND that some paramedics were at the 'scene' at 8:24am and that they registered on their sheet that NO one was there!!! what a blatant lie - we stood outside with a whole load of stanstead airport staff AND people were still boarding the plain so how could this woman tell us that it was our fault for supposedly not being where they were told we were going to be?!

I am gobsmacked by lack of communication and the fact if my daughter was seriously ill we would have had to wait for an HOUR for paramedics to arrive AND when someone arrived passed 9am - it was a fire engine who said that their station was 3 MINUTES away from where we were?!
I fail to understand, why the fire brigade was not called out in the first place if none of the paramedics were available to begin with? why did we have to miss a flight?

This whole situation could have been avoided if Stanstead would a) have more first aiders on hand - 1 in 50 staff is NOT enough and b) if the teams would have communicated between themselves appropriately and work out where their patients are - and if they cant find them - at least try and search for them!

We WILL be demanding a full investigation and we will DEMAND that the staff review the CCTV because we were standing where we were meant to be and it wasn't our fault that we couldn't board the flight. In the end - we will end up spending more than 14 hours at the airport and we are all exhausted. We are keeping all of our receipts from today and we will be making a formal complaint but this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had to endure.

Truly shocked with lack of empathy from Stanstead Airport customer service team - get told to send an email to deal with an issue - is NOT a way to deal with a complaint.

What a joke! They had one non-eu passport control person on and she took around 5-10 minutes with each person/persons.
I was 7th in line and had to wait almost an hour!
Unbelievable, I was absolutely furious by the time I got through and they seemed to not care in the slightest keeping so many people standing in line for no good reason.

No words can describe how bad this airport is. Possibly the worlds worst airport after Luton.

The airport is designed based on corporate greed and to treat travellers like cattle. There are no help desks, no information points, to few seats even for non busy times, no staff to help. Confused travellers are stepping on people sleeping on the floor because of frequent flight delays. The shop assistants pity the poor travellers running the gauntlet through the overpriced non duty free offers.

Worst is that the flights are not even cheap anymore. Flight fees super high unless you fly on Tuesday night or 4am. Parking, drive through charges, overpriced water and food after security. And regarding flight delays. Everything is always due to adverse weather conditions, like: snow, sun, rain or clouds are other any unforeseeable natural causes. So they are not reported or compensated.

Avoid Stansted airport at any cost.

Embarrassing waste of space.

Airport is so far from London, it might be in France. The bus there is always late or way too early.

Notly are facilities terrible, parking, transport and walkways poorly organised but also is staff unfriendly and unhelpful.

But last time really did it.

My bag was taken out for extra scanning for no apparent reason. I had to wait 10 minutes but ok. Without comment I got my bag back but without the tray. Problem was that in that tray was another item. I just took my bag and went to my gate to catch my flight forgetting that I was not given back my other item.



It just went from poor service, to terrible service.

EDIT:
It took two months for them to answer. They said they'd check CCTV but it was so delayed they probably deleted the tapes already.
What an embarrassment of a customer service.

Airport staff, specifically the manager at the passport control line,(As I Believe he was in charge at the checkpoint) were very unprofessional. some old man who pushes his weight way too much... Wish I could have had the opportunity to have gotten his name. He claimed he was shipping me back to the US on the next flight and that I would never be aloud back. The man didnt even know what he was talking about, but had me detained and interrogated only to be released 5 hours later. Not worth it here. Fly into/out of somewhere else!

Wait time for baggage is often 30 mins to 1 hr. We once had to wait 2 hours to reclaim our baggage, you saw right 120 mins on top of the wait time of the flight! There's almost always a shortness of staff when it comes to baggage handling and it's completely unacceptable. Again this has happened multiple times to us so it's certainly a common occurrence... Not to mention the automated passport barriers work 50% of the time for me meaning: go to the really long queue. Very unhappy.

Surreal situation .. if you have to wait a few hours at night then the treatment is: 0 seats and if by chance, sitting uncomfortably on the ground, your eyes are closed, a "nice" man without shame arrives to tell you that you can't sleep. The worst treatments from the staff to the people ever, u don't really know if u are at the jail or waiting for ur fligth. No enough seating places, and when you seat on the cold floor the staff games to say "you can stay at that eay".
There are no charger stations and the sockets doesn't have electricity.

Be careful with the treatments, we are not criminals, we came to visit an leave our money here for you, tourism is good for the wconome and the best marketing is when the people talks with other ones.

Typically of most airports in this country, this one seems to set out to fleece the driver at every turn. Short term parking charges are a disgrace and seem clearly designed to discourage as oppose to aid airport access. The so called disabled parking is farcical, with the nearest parking area reserved for what appears to be, based on the type of cars parked there, the most privileged travellers. All ordinary mortals, including the disabled, have to trek some distance before arriving at one of the most unwelcoming and dismal entrances one could imagine.
Once in the airport, you are confronted by building work, leading to a cramped and confusing layout. It must have taken some really intensive planning to create the bottleneck between the check in desks and the poorly marked entrance to the ladies toilets. With the sole eatery located between this pinch point and the toilets, the area is totally and frustratingly chaotic. What a shame the British public are so willing to accept this sort of shoddy offering without complaint.

Terrible Airport. Unable to manage any volume of passengers effectively. Border Control took over 1 hour with very long queues and limited staff on hand to assist. Airport is not geared up for customer service. Avoid if you can and use another Airport who care!

Poor luggage handling. Waiting 1 hour for luggage to start rolling after arrival is a waste of people's time. If you don't have enough staff then get more. Other low cost airports like Luton deal with this significsntly better.

With Ryanair checking in all bags in a bid to get people to pay more Stansted is becoming an unviable option for me.

I tried this airport 2 times before but this visit was only to pickup my friends .. was easy to drive to but I wished if the signs a bit clearer as I couldn't understand well .. it's not clear from where I have to pickup people .. even on map not mentioned the pickup area so needs to improve some signs.

One night I went to the wrong terminal and almost missed my flight it was an important flight because it was to take me home to take care of my mother who was eagerly waiting for my arrival.
I called the customer service internally from one of the inside phones and told them I had gone to the wrong terminal they sent a gentleman to pick me up.
Put me in the car and drove me back across to check in and I got my flight
My mother got to see me again
