I've been to this hospital several times and everyone was so nice! I gave birth there in November last year and i couldn't have had a better experience, every nurse, every doctor, every staff member; they were nice, understanding and helpful when you needed them.

The emergency ward is awful. Very rude staff, hours of waiting without any explanation and no sign when a doctor will come!

The reception of catastrophic emergencies !!! I arrive I come across a girl at the reception of emergencies who speaks badly to me no joy of living! She said no we did nothing for you I specify that I am coming with my daddy in bad shape I decide to go to the reception which sends me to a lady at the entrance who has a smile and who goes down to help me! Facing the girl but a head up on the ground already on the defensive and I see that she is not very happy to see us! But common sense we force no one to work even less in the reception of emergencies !!! That she changes her job but I find that there is a minimum of respect already it is not easy to arrive at the emergency but then to have in front of you a person like that it is unfortunate !!!!! It is really shameful !!!

Disastrous service at the emergency department. Before they give you help you are literally dead. My mother had to wait from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the emergency room before it was her turn. She is diabetic and has not been able to eat all the time. Her sugar level was extremely low and doctors don't even take that into account. Really bad! Out of frustration I went there and interviewed a male doctor. He told me very lax that he only has 2 hands, has no stress and does it at ease. no understanding at all, farsely and uninterested in his profession. No passion, nothing. dead hospital. And this reputation has stuck to their name for years.

Well knowledgeable staff. But impossible to find your way in this maze. Somewhere clearly indicated where you are and how to get to your destination should be

Huge hierarchy between pretentious doctors and helpful nurses at the expense of the well-being of the patient. I certainly do not generalize this for the entire clinic, but I advise some doctors to take a look at GH Leuven, where doctors respect the hbb for nurses and are communicative to the patient's family.

First arrived at the rush, triage went perfectly, so did the following. After surgery very well cared for, nursing works with a smile on their face, everything you ask for happens with a smile. I have been very well cared for there. The doctors and nurses are great there.

Very satisfied with the gastroenterology department where I was very kindly assisted. Kudos to the nuclear medicine department where everything went smoothly and friendly.

Portaels has had a bad name far beyond Vilvoorde for an eternity. After a cerebral haemorrhage, my father died because the window near the toilets was broken and it froze, he took a pneumonia on top of it and stayed in it, at barely 50. More recently my mother, and then there was a window in the room with gaffa adhesive tape applied due to defect. So 20 years later and still the same antics.
I am now myself today and the first thing that struck me is that the light at the elevator that is showing the floor was the whole picture away, you could wiring.

All these things together and I have no idea how such a thing comes through checks.

I had an operation here a year ago and thought that I was ok although it was months of rehabilitation, which was not normal during the operation, and now and again 1 year later is struggling with it. Where surgery took place, while new technologies existed that barely cause injury, I look as if I have been stitched together again with a stapler. World of difference from hospitals like Bonheiden.

This hospital has not had a good reputation; think there is improvement, rejuvenation doctors is definitely a plus. No blame for older doctors, but must pass on their experience and knowledge to the younger doctors, that must be their LIFE WORK. Nurses are hard workers. The emergency service that I had to deal with 3 times in 14 days went quite smoothly. What I am not satisfied with is the telephone rate: 0.70 ct / minute, was informed about this, but is unacceptable. For the rest they will have to prove themselves ..

Now only after dismissal not satisfied at all, only received rusks and tea, but have to learn how to eat at home and nothing resolved, no conversation with family, draw your plan and until the next time (is about intestinal obstruction) already several times, respect for dr.Demey but is not in charge there ...

Already for the 3rd time this year ends up in Z.H., far from fun, now a crash, that is apparently the "program" that older people have to go through. Send her (mother-in-law 88 yrs) anyway not directly home now, do all kinds of investigations and I enjoy a nice soup in cafeteria, which is really tasty.

It was an unexpected visit for me on August 29, 2016 for 3 days. I was treated with the utmost care and professionalism by Dr. Han & Dr. De Raedt and all the nurses In between. All the best to everyone that looked after me...very much appreciated.

No zest for life, we speak in a haughty way and the staff is not at all professional. The unbearable duration, a disaster

Staff listens that it be for all departments! Even for emergencies they have nothing to complain about!

Trying to reach a doctor (to discuss certain results) for a few weeks is actually being done away with. Couple x proposed to send e-mail, was also done without result, then I have to press a Bep. Calling for hours, again without result, and yes kindness is also not the person's strongest side. You are a hospital, patience, kindness, understanding would be a min. Requirement. We can't go on as long as we don't have a result, but apparently health doesn't matter much. Disappointed ....

Urgent is a thick 0, waiting too long (3.5 hours for a check up and blood test). "Doctor" Geert Van Moorter (between 55-65 years or older) is very rude and arrogant. Today 2/2/18 there was a blood spot on their bed (on that white bed roll or bed cover) my father lay down on it and I only noticed it after that. When I gave this to the "doctor" and showed a nurse, it was just normal for them without danger. So they had not cleaned that bed after the last patient and left it with a blood spot !! My father got sick there because of their mistake! You also get rude commentary instead of apology from that "doctor" geert. Big ZERO for "doctor" Geert and his team!

My daughter stayed for almost a week because she had to be hospitalized at UZ Jette but had to find another hospital as the hospital did not have a vacant bed. So we ended up in this hospital in the middle of the night. Indeed we went through the emergency department with the ambulance which transferred us where the staff was very very pleasant. On the other hand, in pediatrics the staff were really very attentive to my daughter's care, my daughter was wonderfully well cared for (which was not the case in some hospitals in the Brussels region for the same disease).

Very poor service during the day, after being rushed all night and pain relieved, painkiller and food will be refused, the complaint will certainly follow!

Emergency very disappointing ... two hours of waiting with an infant, while the waiting room and empty, a staff on motivated I laugh of course! The rest of the hospital and perfect.

The woman who had the night shift at the reception on Sunday 16 December was very rude and did not want to continue to do her job. If that is the case, I strongly advise you to resign and to fill shelves at the Lidl suits you better !!!!!

Just up from my appendix operation, it was great with Doctor Ghyselen Joris. Thank you together with all the nurses hope to go home soon.

I've been going for more than 20 years and now this Wednesday is my little son who was hospitalized it is almost 2 years bronchitis followed by a beginning of pneumonia it is Saturday night and the news is very good for the little one Elliot

A hospital... probably not the nicest place around.

Impeccable ... I needed a magnetic resonance radiography at St Luc 8months unthinkable waiting of proposed such delay to the AZ hospital 3 weeks appointment at 20:45 really well and more for the people who work it is impeccable

A general hospital. All specialties are available. Very friendly & hard working staff & doctors.

Waiting times too long. An appointment is an appointment and punctuality must be there. 11:45 AM cannot shift to 1:00 PM. I think doctors can read their timepiece.

Emergency is a disaster! No effort was made to move our 2.5 year old girl with their bed to her hospitalization room .. we had to do it ourselves with the help of our pram .. our child was exhausted, sick, and asleep when this had to happen!
It was 1h30 at night.
Apparently no respect for children of that age!
Woman behind the counter with the night shift on Tuesday 13/8 should urgently look for another job!
Fortunately we have been welcomed in pediatrics by a friendly and sympathetic nurse.

After a few times that I did the friend in neurology we were sent after walking 3 times. unfriendly no explanation she was just waste. the last time she could no longer speak and no longer walk. did not pay attention to that. as a doctor he was very rude.

It was ok but the rooms are not singles and you could share. My daughter came over here after paying a lot of money for a procedure and I was very surprised she had to share. Staff spoke good English and we're helpful.

My total hip replacement performed by Dr. Andy de Jong went perfectly. Not expected after 3 days at home for further rehabilitation. Can highly recommend Dr de Jong and nursing surgery 2 and thank you for the good care. Kudos to well-organized informative pre-, admission and discharge folders.

6-year-old son first arrived urgently.
Triage went perfectly.
Have not lost sight of my son for a minute.
Should be taken everywhere to have a photo taken as well as to the operating room.
His pediatrician even came by afterwards in his room.
Top staff have been super helped.

This hospital is not recommended. My stepfather is in geriatrics and is an outright disaster. After 2 weeks they still know nothing and they just leave it there. Very unfriendly doctor. Just had to come in for a scan and just kept it there. Sounds like a prison. Do not!

We were very well received and quickly in emergencies, and very helpful and clean. We take care of the week go by

Grandpa brought to this hospital by ambulance. When I also arrived and asked reception where the waiting room is for emergency, I was only told that he should not receive a visit. Asked an ambulance officer from the fire brigade and he helped me. I just came in when I heard that my grandfather was allowed to receive a visit.

In a hospital, I expect more empathy than that.

I had my 4 Wisdoms removed here and I would say that it was very uncomfortable there. Almost no information was given for after the operation and after the operation I actually became a ghost and lay there just for 2 hours without knowing what was happening. I will never return here personally.

Emergency service fast compared to other hospitals. My son arrived at 8pm for a stomach ache. He was echoed and two hours later he was operated on for appendicitis. It would have been another hospital he would return with sedatives and his condition would be aggravated. I went back myself for back pain, they immediately took the necessary and I was hospitalized for a urinary tract infection while I was thrown and I returned with painkillers. I also strongly recommend the pediatric service. Pediatricians are very knowledgeable and attentive.
