I have always found the Avow nurses to be kind and caring.
There is always the exception to the rule.
Tonight a nurse came to our senior living facility to take care of
a resident and she was rude and huffy. I can only imagine her
bedside manner! Not what I'd want for my loved one :(

A wonderful, peaceful care facility. All the rooms face the large tranquil pond, and a lanai connected to each room. A truly great place for end of life care. The nurses and staff were very helpful and understanding. There were a couple volunteer women with guitars that sang to dad for quite a while. And fresh baked cookies and coffee delivered to the rooms each day. Very nice place.

Hospice came into our home (Naples, Fla.) and explained everything to our family. They provided us with everything that we would need to make our father comfortable at home (we did not use the hospice facilities). A staff member made sure to check in daily and someone was available to call 24/7. They helped make my father comfortable and his a painless transition. I do not know what we would have done without their help.

Words could not express the time we spent at Avow from my Family and I..
Everyone was so caring, thoughtful, respectful, loving and supportive which I didn t realize till after how much was given to my mom and family.
The facility is beyond clean and relaxing. During my moms last days from the patio, lake and grounds gave myself and family escape from the stress and sadness to meditate and pray.
From the bottom of my heart thank you staff

Thank you so much! Avow truly is a blessing to families going through
a health crisis for a loved one! Our Father was in final days of a serious
Illness and from the time the social worker came to our home to the three days he resided in the wonderful private room along with the care by staff , we couldn't have done it without their support. They made a "family room"Available for the 20 family membersalong with beautiful patios and lake views. Avow made the last three daysLess stressful! Thank You!

Unethical environment and total misrepresentation to the max. I would never place any living being in their care even in their last moments of their lives. They are full of lies and won't give you your documents or tell you what they are giving your loved ones. BE WARNED !

My brother ended his battle with cancer 12/14. He had leukemia. Diagnosed on October 4th and now gone. Last Monday we were called to intensive care by doctors at NCH. My brother was having trouble breathing and his health was declining quickly. The neurologist told us that he would not recover. At that time my family decided to stop all cancer treatment and put my brother in hospice. Once Avow was in charge, my brother's care went from treatment to comfort. He was kept in the hospital.
Avow was able to contract the room he was in and nurses he knew cared for him as he quickly and comfortably passed away. He was in the hospital for one week and we were never made to feel like a burden on the staff. Social workers came to see us, a priest came and performed last rights everything and everyone was taken care of to the last detail. Avow even contacted our funeral home and arranged for transport of his body. I have nothing but praise for NCH and Avow.

These people really do the lord's work. Thank god for their staff while my family was trying to figure out the best end of life care for my dad. They were patient, empathetic, and all around professional. I would highly recommend them.

It makes me sad to see some of the bad reviews here. Our Mom just passed last Saturday. Avow was just wonderful. Any time we needed assistance they were there. We provided the loving environment and Avow gave us the direction. They never failed us in providing assistance when needed. My Mom passed at home which was her wish. With our love and Avows assistance my Mom had her final wish. God bless you all at Avow. A special thanks to Cindy

Be warned. Avow Hospice promised the world and delivers very little assistance on their Home Hospice program. Unless your loved one is in the Gorgeson Hospice House, do not expect proper or reasonable levels of care or assistance for your loved one. The Avow Home Hospice medical care is unfortunately apathetic, and negligent in their duty of care. Although the nurses seem knowledgeable and seem to care, proper care does not occur. Their negligent care of my terminally ill Mother has created significant additional suffering and emotional distress for her and more stress for family members that have had to make repeated calls and beg for proper medical attention for her.

My vocabulary isnt large enough to properly describe how grateful I am for the care my wife received from Avow. She was under Avow care for seven weeks at home and at the inpatient facility for six days before she passed away from incurable lung cancer. The patience, understanding and compassion she was shown was incredible from every single person involved in her care. I would highly recommend Avow for anyone who is unfortunately sick enough to need hospice care.

Probably the best place I've ever worked for. Sadly, I had to move, and I hated leaving Avow. Great job with caring co-workers, excellent support from nurse managers, great benefits and pay. Truly a caring organization that will be hard to duplicate for me job wise! Can't say enough good things about Avow!

Just recently, avow home hospice was given to my family as a choice of service when my nana chose to go home after hospital stay at NCH. I was more than impressed with not only the service but the people and the urgency by avow that my family was looking for. We were given two options at the hospital and avow wasn t even the company we first sat down with. In fact, I called them asking if there was a liaison present to come speak with us. Not only did she overview my nanas clinical materiels and spoke clinically knowledgeable but she noted my families urgency on getting my nana home on a Friday afternoon and gave us all the things we needed in her home before her discharge. Not only did the hospice liasion greet my nana at her home on a Friday night, (which may I add was off hours,) the nurse even stayed past her scheduled hours to make sure she was comfortable along with my family before handing off to night shift. My family and I were more than impressed with this company we were reassured and given peace of mind. A family full of people in the medical field is a hard crowd and we have nothing but positive things to say about each person and I hope they get some recognition as it is deserved. My nana passed within 24 hours in peace and comfort after bringing her home from the hospital and we have Avow home hospice to thank for that. Highly recommended !

I came here last Thursday in such distress and the staff here did everything they could to get me stablized. Today I am leaving with my pain level at a manageable level. I am truly grateful to everyone that was involved in my care, from the housekeeping staff straight on up the line to the Doctors.we need more people in this world who have this level of kindness and compassion. I thank God that I made my choice to go with AVOW.

I had my husband taken to hospice when he was in the hospital, he was only 39..he was only one day in hospice.. Died the next morning.. What I still ask myself what did they do? My husband was wide awake telling me he wanted to go home.. And I was arranging it.. He had his bed just needed his oxygen.

Well 20 minutes later the nurse comes without explaining to me what she was doing.. She put a suppository in his rectum and my husband could hear me but he never regained consciousness. Dr said to talk to him and let go because his heart was as strong as a horse... I was numbed ..i sat next to my husband and whispered in his ear to pls let go that me and the twins would be fine all the family spoke to him with loving words.. My husband started shedding tears. He knew what was going on.. I feel that they did something to make him die sooner.

Well 9 yrs later today my brother in law has hospice at home.. I can't explain how nice and nurturing these nurses are.. The Dr comes to see him and he gets baths daily. Now I understand a little bit what they did with my husband but still say they took him sooner.

I'm sure they cleaned house since then.
Thank you to the staff that's taking care of my brother in law. The missing star that makes 5 is for MY husband Mike.. RIP baby.
