This hotel is a little gem, walking in to check in there's a restaurant that has seating around a classic mid century kidney shaped pool. With oversized glass windows everywhere reflecting the David Hockey water ripple it will be hard to miss. At the reception the staff efficiency checked me in and laid out their Covid-19 policy. The room was all beautifully done in nutural tones. Very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Had a side nook with a desk and credenza. Great for writing. All and all it was a great stay.

We stayed here for about a week in September. We were a little worried with the pandemic going on. They took wonderful care of us, and were very accommodating. The pool atmosphere was nice. The gym was cool too. Will definitely be staying here again.

I have been to this hotel 2 times and I must say that it has never disappointed me.
The rooms are large and clean, the staff is always very kind and helpful.
Equipped with indoor swimming pool and restaurant and reserved valet parking ($ 38 per day)
Prices are average considering you are in the heart of Beverly Hills 2 steps from Rodeo dr.
Absolutely recommended!

Overpriced. Don't stay here. Goto courtyard which is a mile away and get a better room with only half of the money. The location is good. except from this, this hotel is no better than a motel in a desert.

Awesome small hotel in a fantastic location. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, bed is great and the restaurant is also very good. Great option for couples. There is a separate building that requires crossing a narrow alley, not a problem even in late December with the nice California weather, if you're at the main building you wouldn't even notice.
The staff is very helpful. Valet is very fast, so no wasting your time waiting for the car.

We enjoyed the Avalon. The hotel is very nice. We thought it was a bit strange they had 3 different buildings but it turned out nicely.

They let us move to a room with 2 beds which was very much appreciated.

We really liked the happy hour and the pool in general. The breakfast was great. Also the service was really good.

Rooms are nice but we're a bit on the warm side.

Free coffee refills was a great feature.

All in all, we would stay there again and overall had a great stay.

This is a beautiful Historic Hotel!! It's just like walking into the 1950s and I mean that as the biggest compliment I can give! It's so cool. It's like visiting the past. The staff were very kind and attentive!

Service of the hotel was subpar. Location overall was good. Walkable distance to rodeo drive. The hotel bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean as well. Staff overall could have been friendlier.

Cool looking online but Funky rooms across street from hotel have dirty carpets and feel like a separate apartment. Very bad entrance in an unmarked sketchy alley at night not so fun. Staff is very nice though.

Room felt like a motel room. Supposed to be a jr suite. It was spacious but nothing like a junior suite...more like a very basic hotel room with a bit more square footage. The hotel bar is nice and they make great drinks. Breakfast was good. Valet was $40/night. Don t leave anything in your vehicle with the valet. Not even a gym bag. Ours was taken. I know, the warning is on the valet ticket about valuables left in vehicle, but come on! Your employee doesn t just park my car, but may go through it, trunk & all, looking to steal stuff, so be sure to completely empty out your car before handing it over or they just might do it for you. #valetmoralvalues
Needed new spin shoes anyway, they can have the old ones.

Viviane Restaurant has great customer service! They is olive oil to prepare food and has good healthy ingredients. Their chicken sausage was good. I got the grain bowl with an over easy egg on top. The portions were above average so I felt very satisfied.

We were very disappointed at our visit to the Avalon in Beverly Hills.

Definitely overpriced. This hotel is more like a 2.5 star motel. You pay for location - it's just a few blocks from Wilshire and Rodeo.

The pool and lobby area is nice. But room itself - very outdated.

Caution Extra Charges!
When we arrived we pulled into the drive and was greeted by the valet. He told us that valet parking is $35. The next morning when we checked out we were surprised to see a $40 parking charge instead.

We also were charged a $15 "amenity fee", which was not mentioned anywhere.

We unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

Loved staying here !

Loved staying here !

Excellent location very close to Beverly Hills & Beverly Centre - for all your shopping needs!

Easy parking, and a very nice quiet neighbourhood with lots of green grass if you would like to go for a walk.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful outdoor pool.

The theme in the hotel is blue it is very tranquil and relaxing.

And if the court is very on point for a Boutique Hotel.

The Price was also very good for the location & amenities.

Recommend and will return.

Nice history and good location but room is a dump. Old, dirty, cheap flooring, mushy mattresses and yucky bath. Feels like a youth hostel. Single pane sliding aluminum windows! Is this is rural Oklahoma in 70s? Trying too hard beyond its age.

Felt more like a motel than a hotel. Unfortunately I was in one of the back rooms facing the carpark and had the garbage trucks wake me up at 5am... Try and stay in a room facing the pool for a better experience

I really loved the place. I like the non-carpet flooring because it is a lot cleaner. We had the poolside room view. That being said, our room could have used a paint job. One of the light bulbs were burned out, only one chair for the eating table but overall I give it 4 stats for location and the restaurant. I'll be back!

This hotel is hidden in plain sight on Olympic Blvd. It is a boutique hotel. Very old building but they did a good job in the lobby. Very special & unique decoration.

The Service: Only 2 valet staffs. Very short driveway so it got crowded after 2 cars parking in front of the hotel. The staff at the front desk is very friendly.

This is a day hotel for a breakfast nosh by pool . Grab a cabana for the day .The food is very good but you may be served by a lot of attitude as the management is just not what it should be for the area .Such potential here in location but they fail to deliver .The rooms are dreadful nothing to even rate. It's low motel standards. From sheets to the towels cheap cheap cheap . I love the font of the logo , it conjures up all kinds of good vibes .The atomic, mid century concept is found only in common areas .Behind the doors to bedrooms and bath not worth a penny of your vacation or staycation money . This is not a memorable hotel nothing special you are paying for the zip code but they are giving you nothing in return.

Cool atmosphere. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Unfortunately had to wait over an hour for my room to be ready when reservation was made a month earlier. Elevator also needs work. Worried I'd get stuck every time I took it. Safety inspection permit was very much expired. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

Nice hotel but beware of all the expensive extras like the resort fee ( never heard of a hotel adding an extra cost per room at the end of the trip! For what?!)Plus there is no on street parking so valet parking at $40 a night is compulsory which meant we kept having to wait to get our car.
Location is very good.
Lots of small annoying things that weren't quite right, such as very noisy air conditioning and one that kept leaking. Half of the window locks were broken so didn't open. No air vent from the bathroom to outside and as we were on the ground floor we couldn't leave the window open.Helpful staff. Studio rooms that say they sleep 4, but the sofa bed was too small for my 9 and 10 year old to sleep together. They did give us a folding bed.

It locates at the very edge of Beverly Hills, quite a walk to the center.
The reception was not friendly, so many people standing there at the counter, but all just chatting among themselves!
The only nice thing is the nice view of the swimming pool.

The hotel has a mid century modern design which is pretty cool. There are 3 separate buildings and the hotel is in a residential area a block away from Beverly Blvd. It was quiet at night. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. The toilet had a hose type thing attached which would've been fantastic had the water coming out of it not been cold. The restaurant Viviane's has a unique selection of foods available. The acai bowl was the best I'd ever had. I could have one for breakfast daily for the rest of my life amd be satisfied. I didn't give the hotel 4 or 5 stars because the floors weren't cleaned in the corners of the room. With the amount of dust and dirt I'd say they haven't been cleaned in months. The grout was filthy and needed bleached.

This place is nice...the shower was epic. And like they have glass water bottles that are complimentary. But there was construction or something and people in the next room were very loud so not great for restful sleep. And the other downside is that in morning coffee is for like 2 hours....6-8am or something. So without a machine in the room just feels a little cheap to not have coffee for travelers. That's all.

Bathroom consistently smelled like poop. This ruined my whole experience here. Also, the fire alarm went off every 10 minutes during the night. Do you think they waived those resort fees? Lol NOPE. Wallpaper was peeling off in different places and the room just felt gross. Too expensive for what it is.

The Viviane was a beautiful restaurant, we decided to sit outside by the pool since they had a heater (it was a cold, but beautiful day) We definitely got great service and our server was very attentive. The food was just okay, not too much flavor although the ingredients were fresh and high quality. We got a $20 burger and a Chicken Sandwich paired with a couple of beers. We chose this place for our anniversary lunch and it was a good choice for the visual appeal and atmosphere, I wouldn't come here for the food again, but I would come back for drinks. The Avalon Hotel itself is nice and has a old-school vibe, it has a lot of history so it was interesting to see the design.

You see a beatiful hotel online, but theres a good chance theyll stuff you in the cheaply converted apartment building across the street. Couple that with pool only being open from 12-6 and im very dissapointed i came here. Good hospitality but cant put lipstick on a pig and call it a prom queen.

Very high handed and rude right desk person. Their schedule says restaurant is open till 11. On calling he says they close at 930, and that's it!!! He seemed to not care and not willing to talk or help in any way. That in my opinion is poor guest service.

Worst hotel in the state of California we were in the penthouse suit and it was awful we had to walk threw a creepy dark alley way to find myself going up a awful elevator when we got in the room I had to use the restroom and there was feces in the toilet. Even worse there were stains everywhere and an awful smell that made me and the rest of my family sick. After about thirty minutes I went onto the balcony and there were spider webs and the door got stuck to get back in bit on the balcony worst there was stains and what looked like a dead bird. My family couldn t take it so we left and went to the residents in Marriott hotel LA live and it s amazing so if you find yourself stuck there I would leave and go there

I was hesitant due to a poor rating on Marriott website. I checked in for one night and was greeted with a glass of champagne. The rooms were cozy and over looked a nice pool lounge area. The bathrooms are extremely nice with a nice rain shower head. All room service is controlled by a personal tablet where you can order anything you might need. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking to stay in The Beverly Hills area and doesnt want to spend and extreme fortune.

A hidden gem in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood a...

A hidden gem in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area, at the edge of residential area, you will find this amazing boutique hotel. While it would appear that this is a cozy place, once you enter the front doors it is evident that it does not fit the description usually associated with "cozy".

The hotel is welcoming, elegant and artsy. The lobby is open, as you enter, there is an immediate view through the windows of their unique boomerang pool. There is cushioned seating in this window space, so you can just enjoy the view before diving in.

There is more cushioned seating near the check in desk (pool and street views), as well as some very interesting sculptures, abstract paintings and plantlife.

The pool dominates the middle of Viviane Restaurant - you may dine inside with views of bamboo trees or the pool, choose a table poolside or use one of the private cabanas that line the far side of the pool. Additionally, there are chairs and loungers that surround the pool area, and a very comfortable cloth couch, tables and globe lamp at the end of the pool. As you exit the pool area, a very bohemian retro place to sit and take in the sun.

It is a very well designed and artsy place, relaxing with comfortable rooms. each floor has different abstract works of art and vases with flowers.

Of note is that while there is street parking, however, valet is complimentary, no validation or payment is required. It is very conveniently located within walking or bicycle distance (ask or reserve bicycle at front desk) to shopping and other conveniences such as pharmacy and other services.

There is also a fitness and wellness center here.

I found my stay here quite invigorating and pleasant. Excellent friendly service, they are very accommodating and willing to provide whatever it is you need to make your stay a pleasant one.

Even if you are not going to stay at hotel, a must is visiting the restaurant Viviane. I so look forward to my next visit!

If you like to smell full room of DETTOL and don t need HVAC, it is a great place to stay since the air conditioning never works. The gate is left as opened during the daytime which means everyone can access to the hotel. I m not sure if I should keep gold status of Marriott membership due to this special experience.

My room was very nice, and Candace at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. I would stay there again, but...

My room door cards didn't work twice and had to be reset. What happened to actual door keys? Not everything should be computer sensors.

I think there should be screens on the room windows, and I couldn't fully open the sliding glass door that moves right to left or left to right.

I think there should be overhead lighting for safety and clearer visibilty in the outdoor paths leading to the rooms.

I think there should be a cord shower head for greater maneuverability, not only an overhead rain shower.

The "houseman" was initially friendly to me, but subsequently acted oddly, noticeably cold to me in stark contrast to his smiling "Good morning" greeting to another guest near me.

The rear door near the parking area doesn't close all the way on its own, creating a potential security issue; and rain water leaked into the building near the elevator because the door bottom is several inches above the ground.

Loved their Happy Hour time! The ambience and decor was really chilled, relaxing and cool. I also loved their servers! Helpful and sweet, our drinks were constantly refilled. The food was decent. Our favorite was the Roasted Sweet Potato dish, so good! The Tuscan Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese and Mezze dishes were okay. Would definitely come back here again! The Gin Gimlet, Daiquiri and Shirley Temple was delightful!
