Birthday party lunch. Took the ferry from central to double bay
Stepped off the ferry and its there on the same pier. Food was excellent fresh seafood. Drinks on the balcony overlooking double bay waters. Great day.
Great place to catch up with friends. Nice wines and friendly service.
Rude on entry on more than one occasion. First time, we waited for several minutes to get to reception before being told it was closed for a private event. How about putting a sign up on the door so people know that??? Instead they let people come in and then seem to revel in speaking to them rudely and turning them away
Another time they rejected me entry for not having a paper ID....DURING A PANDEMIC!! I showed them a clear picture of my passport & DL and was told that s not acceptable ID LOL. I think you ll find it is!
Apparently digital ID is accepted worldwide now in every establishment... except the 18 footers Double Bay!! Wake up guys!
I had dinner with friends at 18 Footers Bar and Restaurant on Valentine s Day. The service staff were really nice and friendly and helpful with the menu and willing to make changes for us. The food portions were quite large and pretty tasty. You just needed to order your drinks at the bar.
This place has a fantastic view overlooking the bay of Double bay.
The bar and restaurant staff is friendly and professional. The food is good and above pub quality and is reasonably priced considering the location and the views. We had mostly good experiences here and a occasional bad one, but the issue has always been resolved by the restaurant staff.
The 18 Footers yacht club is located right next to the ferry terminal in Double bay.
This is a club under the nsw club act, so you need to be a either a member, guest of a member or live out side the 5 km radius to be able to sign-in as a non member.
It can get busy here so if your not a member there is a chance you can t get in, especially nowadays with Covid capacity restrictions.
Tip! To avoid disappointments have a reservation and book a table in the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

The outlook while you eat is beautiful
Relaxed atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Terrific views. Ferry right at the doorstep. But you do pay for food and drinks separately.
Wonderful relaxing place to enjoy a meal or a drink on the verandah watching the ferries come and go
