I had an amazing time! It was quick to get our tickets and board the train. We were only one car away from the snacks/bathroom car. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I had no choice but to relax in the trip. It was wonderful.

I'm afraid we may have been too late for the wild flowers. The only Blue Bonnets seen were close to the tracks. The Adult Lounge was not crowded at all. Contrary to the name may suggest, alcohol is not permitted. It's a very relaxing trip. Everyone should do it once just for the experience. The staff was very friendly. A little history lesson included. Side note: Trailblazer Cafe was AWESOME for lunch. Make sure you get reservations in advance. There are not a lot of restaurants so it gets extremely busy. The food is very good. The staff was great. I'd go back just to eat lunch.

We have taken 2 rides on the Austin Steam Train, and both were fantastic. Their Christmas train is truly magical, with lots of activities and entertainment throughout the entire ride. It s a must-do at Christmastime if you have little ones! The Summertime Express Train was well organized and safely operated following social distancing and sanitation guidelines all employees wearing masks, passengers were loaded and unloaded on one group at a time, the cars were only at 50% capacity which allowed each group to have an entire row to themselves, and I saw employees actively cleaning surfaces throughout the ride. Very impressed with how they are operating during the pandemic, promoting both fun and safety.

Could have been so much better. Very boring. No information provided, despite a functional public address system. Definite missed educational opportunity for a captive audience. Our volunteer said he ran out of brochures, but when I passed through another car, there were plenty of brochures and free water. Concession car disappointing. No food, only limited selection of junky snacks for a 3 hour ride. Can't really recommend.

Great ride. Took the two hour trip to Burnet. Our guide was Steven I believe. Very kind and friendly. The cars are very nice and the classics look is great as well. I wish the layover was longer, but overall it was a great experience. I will definitely try again and maybe in the future if they do it more frequently will keep coming back.

We went on a wine train to the Wedding Oaks Winery in Burnet. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Volunteer train staff gave excellent car service & are very knowledgeable about the different train cars & railroad history. We were happily given a tour of our rail car, complete with a very interesting history lesson. The wine & the winery I was not very impressed with. You're offered a very overpriced box lunch ($15 each for a sandwich, a bag of chips, & a cookie), as well as a selection of wine to buy by the bottle. The winery is NOT giving tours. Rather, you're ushered up to a terrace level room with live music. After about 30 minutes, we were ready to leave & see what else we could find to do. Note that downtown Burnet is dead on Sundays, so isn't much to do or see & no place close by to eat at without a good walk from the train station (there's a 2 hour layover in Burnet to leave the train & go explore).Overall, it was a fun time & I would definitely recommend that a person try this tour, at least, once.
