Ridiculous! I've been on the waiting list for 10 year's now.

Blatant discrimination against blacks.

If a black makes an allegation of violence by whites it is ignored.
If a white makes the allegation against black the person is evicted in 10 days - no hearing.

Theft of rent money is rampant if you pay with money order and don't keep good records they will swear you did not pay and apply money to friends or just keep it.

The Housing Authority is very discriminatory bunch of bullies who take mold hills and make them mountains. With no regard to persons safety or consideration of the residents. They have recently hired a unqualified property manager and shown her how to do there dirty unlawful deeds in a lawful way! The Housing Authority also retaliates against anyone who does not follow the flow of there wrong doing by evicting them under to rouse of non compliance or criminal activity. For those who are on the Board Of Commission and hired someone to do these thing , you all should be ashamed to allow a Director and attorney who targets and discriminates against those who aren't in position to protect themselves to keep this so called business in the 'RED'. YOU GET NO STARS!

i have seen a dramatic change within the 10 yrs for the worst. ghetto people have moving in and i am not
just talking about afro- american people. the latinos and white people are just as ghetto. i didn't have any mice for several and now they are back. also, they have people propping the handicap door and when a wheelchair user tries to use the key for the automatic door the darn door doesn't open. management knows who is doing this, but they don't want to correct the problem. i am not complaining just to complain. if aha wants me pay my rent on time like i do. then they need to stop making things less accessible for me & for others. ------ ALVA LUZ RODRIGUEZ

My two children and I moved here in 2014 and I applied for housing. I've been on this literal "wait list" ever since. Amazingly, the DuPage and Kendall county lists are not only more responsive but modern, it's online and I can see the progress. Yes, I'm a single mother of two who moved here for a career but guess what AHA I'm employed, with degrees and I'm a productive member of society who not asking for a hand out, its ridiculously expensive to live in Illinois. Its absolutely pathetic that the only update I've gotten in this 4 year time frame (even after calling and taking time off to physically walk in) is that I'm on the list and a letter asking if id like to remain on the list. Thank God we are not homeless. Nice new property you all have by the way! I'm not sure what is done there but doesn't seem to be home placement or help.

My family and I are currently homeless. We stay at the Hesed House and I've been waiting for over a year. They want to help out all the people who only need a one bedroom but not the famalies. Thanks to them I have to apply for other housing authorities and to ones out of state. Maybe Galesburg will be a little bit faster than the AHA.

Poor experience. I have complained for months about my husband a felon living with a tenant for months now nothing has been done about it. The proof is in pudding they encourage women to have extra people in their house. Free rent! Its sad so many people are struggling to pay for where they live who live correctly. I see something wrong the system. If you have put out a no TRESPASS notice if they
fail to pick up their notice enforce it. Let the tenant know immediately otherwise the system fails itself. If you need a private investigator to do your work for you get at me. I think I need to sign up public housing apparantly it is a sham.
