We were a party of four with reservations and high expectations in anticipation of our dinner at this famed Napa resort. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. The table we reserved was given away.
Sitting in the direct setting sunlight was uncomfortable for the first 1/2 hour. The food service could not have been slower. The food was better on the menu than on the tongue. It was ok. For all the reputation it has had ..was it a party downstairs for the golfers or was it just bad service.

Way overpriced, yet the food was indeed gourmet quality. If I won the lottery, I might visit again. Also, I might go to other independent restaurants where the food has a bit more to say...

From the moment we made our reservation, the staff was eager to please. Once we checked in, we knew we had chosen the right place to stay. Wonderful room and amenities. We had breakfast each morning in the restaurant and dinner twice while there. We enjoyed every meal. Brittany put together a schedule based on our tastes, and it couldn't have been any better. She scheduled our winery tastings, lunches, and dinners. We had a great time. The only thing we would change for our next visit is to plan more time to explore and enjoy the resort.

I was visiting the restaurant when I found that I couldn't park the car myself, even though (there were spots right in front) with the excuse that "We might need to move your car". Yeah, sorry, you're not moving anything that's mine. I've been burned by that before and payed the price.

We parked at the winery up-top and walked down. Sorry to say but the food didn't compensate for that event. It was "fine" which for this place and price range is not acceptable.

If you're looking at this do yourself a favor: Stay at Bardessono. You're welcome.

Not a "great" experience

Not a "great" experience

My wife and I recently dined at the Auberge Du Soleil Restaurant while on our honeymoon. First and foremost, the food and service were excellent. Our trouble stemmed from a combination of misinformation and bad luck. My wife had previously done research on this restaurant and we both reviewed the menu thoroughly online, which listed prices per entree. However when we arrived, the menu was strictly a price fix - 3, 4 or 5+ courses. Same menu as we had seen online but no a la carte options. Most likely our fault. Unfortunately, we had been eating and sampling wine in Napa Valley all day and were "stuck" getting 3 course meals each. (I actually ordered 2 courses but paid for the full 3 as per restaurant policy). This was no huge issue although certainly very pricy - well over $300 total with 2 glasses of inexpensive wine.

However, our main concern was the misfortune of being seated adjacent to a table of two obnoxious patrons and presumably one's wife. Throughout the meal they were loudly making rude comments concerning the restaurant patrons including us (mentioning that we didn't look very romantic) as well as recalling stories about their business exploits - with severe bigoted undertones, especially regarding Hispanic employees. It was clear they were spending big money at the restaurant (as they let anyone in earshot know) and had ties with one of the managers who came to shake hands. We felt like leaving at first but stayed mainly due to the $100 cancellation fee and $40 uber ride each way from our hotel.

I never write reviews online, and like I mentioned initially, the service and food were really top notch. It just has to be said that if you work hard for your money and get the misfortune of eating next to a couple of high-rolling jerks, you really are going to feel burned at the Auberge Du Soleil.

A stunning view! Food was fantastic as well. Duck liver mousse with concord jelly was outstanding, although everything we had was great as well. I wasn t entirely comfortable with the parking situation, which seemed to assume valet parking as the default; as I wasn t terribly comfortable having someone else in my car during COVID, there was an awkward moment where it wasn t clear what my alternative was. Other than that one moment, a wonderful evening with a professional, welcoming staff.

Having arrived at the Auberge after a long day of travel and business with about 30 minutes to spare for a hot bath before dinner, I was very disappointed to have only slightly tepid water with which to do so. Upon calling the front desk, we were sent a maintenance man who first attempted to blame us for using the bath and shower at the same time, which we had not (my husband was answering emails and had not planned on taking a shower before dinner), then instructed us to wait for about 30 minutes and we would have hot water. As this had already eaten up about 20 minutes of my bath time, there was no time left. Having said that, the remainder of the trip was lovely. Both the dinner and the breakfast were delicious. The food was superb; inventive, creative and flavorful (and that sourdough bread!). The service was friendly and impeccable; polite and attentive yet not overbearing (and again, those chocolate dusted almonds, mmmm .) The room beautiful and offered everything a traveler might need, and then a few extras! ...and the non-smokey fireplace was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the parking was just across from the room for quick and easy check out. I really wanted to give this a lesser star as mentioned earlier, but everything else made such a wonderful impression and created a great memory, it's worth the five stars.

Wow. That is how you do fancy, but still warm. Very much worth the set brunch price, as you don't pay for just the food, you pay for the experience. Just the right amount of amazing food, and the drink that comes with the brunch is very good quality.

If you're in Napa Auberge du Soleil is a must! The food and view were over the top amazing. Your view over looks the mountains and vineyards of Ruthford Napa. The service was great from start to finish. If I was able to leave a review of 6 stars I would!

Fantastic dinning experience in a picturesque setting. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional. We sat in the patio overlooking Napa and ate our way through a 4 course meal. It is highly recommended that you stop here if visiting wine country. However make sure to reserve in advance as the restaurant gets very crowded.

It was a very nice especially! The valets were very nice and busy packing the parking lot with cars the parking lot is very small it's an usual location! I went upstairs to use the bathroom so fancy and clean I was amazed to see because never before had I been in such a place. I probably won't be able to go here again ever but I would recommend that you try it if you have the chance. (Translated with Google translate)

Had brunch at the restaurant. It was a $75 prix fixe meal. The starter was amazing. I got the white corn soup in which every sip was rich and had a pure white corn taste. The desserts were also well plated and tasted extraordinary.

Overall the perfect experience from the gardens to restaurants to even the wifi. The staff were helpful, prompt and curteous. The location is easily about as good as you can find in Napa. Highly recommend!
