We are so impressed with Pedalheads. Not only did they help my little one start to bike but also gave her so much confidence with biking. A fabulous and engaging staff, super fun for all and very safe. I reccomend this company for anyone who wants thier kid to learn an imporant skill and have a safe and super fun time doing so! Not the cheapest camp but worth every penny :)

We had a great experience. My kids have attended the summer bike camp for the past 3 years. My youngest was so excited it was his turn the summer of 2020. He learned how to ride a bike by day #2! They have a great program and also teach the rules of the road for bike riders. Every counselor we have had made a big impact on my kids.
I felt completely safe sending them to camp as all the city/state requirements for Covid summer 2020 were met. It was a great to experience a sense of "normal" by attending camp.

I signed up my 9-year-old boy for the Intermediate Pedalheads Mountain Bike Trail camp (Lynn Valley, Vancouver, July 2020). I'll start by saying that the supervisor/instructor, Curt was great, and by no means does this rating reflect the people teaching. The issue was around the size/ability level of the group, and the lack of provisions made to accommodate the range of abilities in a group of that size.

There were 10 kids in the group, and while my son is by no means an expert (there were other riders more experienced than him) -- he does have experience riding trails. From the description on the website, it sounded like Intermediate was the right level for him. It turned out however that there were 3 or 4 kids who were absolute beginners, and uncomfortable riding up hills, as well as down anything remotely challenging.

On day 3, I asked the supervisor whether they could divide the group, and he said he'd actually requested additional instructors for the group earlier that day, but was told no one was available.

Understandably there will be some variation in skill levels, and I'm not blaming the kids -- everyone is different. But since the supervisors had to cater to the least experienced kids, the net result of the week was that half the class spent most of their time waiting for the others to catch up, and not much time actually riding. In other words, ride 2 minutes, wait 5 minutes / ride 5 minutes, wait 15 minutes). Meanwhile the least experienced kids spent most of their time walking down trails they were not comfortable with.

I was hoping my son would develop and learn some new skills, but unfortunately for the reasons above, he learned absolutely nothing new, and found the whole experience pretty disappointing.

Unless provisions are made to split groups when there is a significant diversity in abilities, I do not recommend signing up for this camp.

We signed up both our daughters for Pedalheads Bike Camp at the Nootka Elementary School location and were blown away with the level of expertise and professionalism of this program. The instructors are well trained and fun loving with the kiddos. Both our 3 and 5 year olds learned to ride their bikes without training wheels and loved every second of the program... So much so that we ended up signing them both up for a second week of camp. This will definitely be a yearly camp for both our girls and we can't recommend it more to any parents looking for a quality camp that doesn't just keep your children busy and entertained, but also teaches them great skills all while giving them a wonderful experience. Shout out to Jennifer and Vazul in particular for being such great coaches to our girls! See you next year!

Son had a great time in his level 1 classes, with his instructor, Matthew. My son loved the games such as temple of doom and bull s eye and was excited to go to his lessons. The quality of instruction was great, fun, and useful. Every day I could see progression in my son s biking. Will be back again for level 2!

Quality of instruction and the temperature of the pool have been wonderful at this location! My daughter gets cold (needing to hit the hot tub) at Hillcrest so it's much appreciated that being in this pool for 50min. she doesn't feel cold. Have gone here pre-covid and during covid and they're very conscientious about keeping everybody healthy/safe during the pandemic with adjusted procedures. Great job staff!

My two little boys (3 & 1 year) have been in Pedalheads swimming for the past year and the instructors were amazing. It's really cool to see how confident my kids are in the water since attending.
Special thanks to Amanda and Sophia (always on the sidelines making sure everything is running smoothly) for being so kind and doing such a good job. I highly recommend this swim program.

Professional, enthusiastic, patient, knowledgeable, and caring staff. Activities are entirely age appropriate, giving every chance for kids to learn how to ride a bike in a safe environment.
