I endured a student attack two years ago and opened up a workers comp case with Athens insurance. I have read that Athens states that their approach is to partner with our clients to provide service that translate to lasting benefit and that is part of the Athens difference. In my opinion this couldn't be more untrue. I am a client and Athens has done everything they can to not help me with my situation at all. The agent I was assigned was the most dishonest and unprofessional person I have encountered and he conspired with the school district to not have to pay me out. I have been waiting for over a year and half to get an epidural that the agent made me jump through many hoops to beef up the report and request for an epidural which his same company continues to deny. It is a ongoing cirlce of dishonesty and the same company controls both ends of this debacle as well as allowed the school district to create very dangerous and inappropriate accommodations which I declined and Athens and the school district benefitted from this bogus scam. I am currently not able to work, not able to collect disabilty because the school district doesn't pay into it, and in constant pain all day, everyday. Is this the Athens difference? I hope not and in my opinion I feel like you should do everything you can to avoid having these people insure you becasue they are not about client at all. It is all about the money for them and how much they can save by screwing you over.
