Beautiful hotel, the conference rooms though have no windows, no natural light

Had the worse experience ever! I am a heavy traveler and loyal to Hilton chain but this time they lost me. I wanted to stay this time at the Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest because I had read the reviews of it being one of the most beautiful hotels in Bucharest and OH BOY have I regretted my decision of paying in advance for a one-week stay. On day one they have changed me THREE times of rooms...one uglier than the other, starting with the first one filthier as I've never seen anything before. I don't know if mine was an isolated event or if the hotel has seen better times but I can only speak on my personal experience and I would not recommend you stay here.

I feel excellent here every time I come to translate for some event/conference.

Hotel located in the heart of the city, top quality services, very friendly staff.

The caffee shop/bistro place is very good as they have some special menu with unique deserts. Some are named after well known Romanian personalities like "Irina Margareta Nistor" (film critic) chocolate mousse desert or "Dumitru Prunariu" (spaceman) salad. The service was very good and a very pleasant evening atmosphere.

Impeccable conditions, service and comfort, and the fact that in every room you find the Romanian and English version of the New Testament, surely attracts the blessing of God.

This place is absolutely outstanding. Fast, efficient, and courteous service.

It's great, huge rooms. The lounge on the ground floor is beautiful.
If you ask for a third bed, it is a bed in good condition, a decent 90 cm mattress with a normal box spring, unlike other hotels in the country.

Very nice and elegant hotel located near the Roman university. With two steps you can reach anywhere in the city center. Elegant, with a high level staff and services adapted to the stars. Perfect breakfast. Spacious and clean rooms. Truly an excellence on hospitality and professionalism.

Good check in experience but I didn't know whether to be disappointed or impressed that someone had drunk the beer in the minibar and put the lids back on the bottles!

The staff were very embarrassed but I wouldn't have noticed except that I didn't recognize the brand so picked one up to see what it was.

Overall I had a good stay and would visit again.

Beutiful hotel! established in 1913, tons of history with a casino and great resturaunts. Service was excellent located in the heart of Bucharest.

The Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel Bucharest is a piece of history not only because it is considered the first five star hotel in Bucharest, but because of the welcoming and charming service of the entire hotel staff.

The hotel is located in a central square near the most important historical sites in Bucharest.The rooms are amazingly clean,I must note the charming reception of Mrs. Corina Halcescu, who is in charge of the reception, Mr. Bogdan, Mrs. Andreea and Ms. Ana of the reception for excellent service.

Also to mention the five stars service of the staff from the breakfast room and Mr. Alexandru from the executive lounge.

Very nice, little different from how things are done in the USA. Room key needed to work the elevator.

To be honest I was surprised this is a 5 star hotel, they need to significantly remodel this because it looks so old and regular. The radisson around the corner is 10x better. The breakfast here was good though.
