Love this place! Alan helped me out today. All the staff is so friendly and are very professional. They don t seem like they re trying to rip you off and they are smart and know how to fix your car.
I got a oil change coupon from groupon and they didn't upsell any additional services when I was using it. I got a detailed inspection report for my car and they texted a web link to the report, so I can keep it as a long-term record. With the report, they helped me to understand which part of my car needs to pay attention for and what other things can be optimize its efficiency. That helps a lot for me! I highly recommend the Good Works for every one who can see the post!
I brought my 2005 Ford Focus into these guys on Saturday fearing the worst because driving my car felt like my car was going to fall apart at any moment and every time I pushed on the brakes I feared the squeal. I was sure I was going to be told I'd be better off just scrapping it than repairing it, but after they gave it a full look over they assured me that my car was not as bad off as I thought. It cost way less than it would have cost me to scrap it and get another vehicle. These guys are amazing and not only will I continue to bring my car to them, but my Mother said she will also start bringing her car in as well. Thank you for all you did for me. You lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.
This places is AMAZING! Highly recommend!! The staff is extremely friendly, almost feels like you're with family! The prices are great and I'm glad I came across this place. One of the things I hate about going to a mechanic shop is how pushy they can be, but let me tell you they are not like that at all. They educate you on what needs to be done, then let's you decide and respects your decision. They work with you if you cant afford to pay upfront, offer shuttle service, and they call with updates on your car. They go above and beyond to help!! I definitely will be back!
Alan helped me with my LR situation. Was informative through each step of the repair and always checked with me before moving forward. If I have any more car troubles I ll be coming back to this shop.
Fantastic service. They're honest, thoroughly check your vehicle, and even send you a nice breakdown with pictures of anything they find including how urgent it is to fix.
We live here in Tempe and we're looking for an auto shop. After seeing you endorse McSally,, we will never patronize your business. Mixing politics and business is a bad idea. I'll take any opportunity to dissuade anyone who asks for a recommendation for Good Works. If like minded as McSally, I would never trust this business. Color me a family with pre-existing conditions and still deserve fair health care.
This is my third oil change. The service is always above excellent and beyond what I expect. Great promotion and they truly care about your vehicle and services. They answer all your questions, and staff are like familiar friends. Looking forward to my next visit. Oh, did I mention computer report emailed to you and they are the best!
I took my truck into Good Works Auto because I had a check engine light on. So $120 dollor cost to read the engine code. I'm told it's a misfire in cylinder two, and that I need a whole new engine. Quoted cost of $4400 dollors. So I picked my truck up and had someone else look at it. Turns out I had a single bad spark plug, and did not need a new engine. So a $5 dollor fix for what I was told would be a $4400 fix. I will never return to good works after trying to rip me off because they were to lazy to fix such a little issue is completely ridiculous.
This is the ONLY shop i will take my car to. I have a high mileage vehicle that could not pass emissions so i brought it to Good Works Auto Repair. Not only did they repair everything in order to pass, they stayed within my budget and took it to get tested to verify their work! They also completed a full inspection and made sure my car was safe to drive before letting me drive away. The team at Good Works really does to good work. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone!
Honesty and integrity in every visit. They are professionals with the counseling concern of parent when they discuss your car's issues. Not pushy, and I'm glad I found them, just around the corner too. The shop is not too flashy, and frankly that's a good thing in my book. I don't take my car to a mechanic so I can marvel at the waiting room artwork. Highly recommend.
Super friendly staff, great customer service, I also love the checks they do on your vehicle when you get an oil change. I will not go any were els for an oil change after visiting this shop.
They did a prepurchase inspection for me, very thorough , professional and affordable. They got me in quickly and did a great job in a timely manner. I will be back for future service .
Get a second opinion, because Good Works Auto Repair recommended a bunch of unnecessary and costly fixes. They recommended that I replace 4 axle mounts, radiator hoses, spark plugs, and do a coolant flush for about $4,000. I went to another mechanic who told me only one mount would need to be replaced but everything else was in decent condition.
Good works has done a great job for a fair price each time I've taken my vehicle to them. They are conscientious while being sensitive to the impact of costs on the customer.
I'm super grateful for the staff at Good works! Dominique, Jondra, and Nick were amazing! They were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and patient with me. Every question that I had was answered and I was given a very detailed inspection for my car which is very helpful and easy to understand. Will definately recommend to friends and family.
Never using this place again. I tried to find something close to where I live and saw this place when I google it. Felt safe using them with the Christian emblem thinking they wouldn't mess me over. When I went in there they told me one price for all the work I needed and told me to come back later. They offer a transport for free when I used the driver Valentin has no idea how to drive she was speeding and running red lights and tailgating. By time I picked up my car later that day the price that they told me went up a additional $180 from what they originally told me it would be after labor and $180 may not seem like much to some people but right before Christmas it definitely hurt the wallet and Glen and other staff couldn't explain where the extra fees came from. I should have done better research.
I found good works auto through yelp and made an online appt for an oil change. From the time I pulled in to the time I pulled out was just over an hour and while I waited everyone was friendly. I will be back.
I read all the reviews and thought this place seemed great, and I really didn't want to give it such a low score, but failure to service deserves a 0. So first of all, if you're not familiar with the area, expect to get turned around and have to circle a bit to find it, even with Google maps. When I made my appointment, I wasn't offered any insight that it may be tricky to locate. I don't know why they don't say anything - maybe as to not insult anyone? I'd rather be offered that kind of advise rather than have to drive around for 20 minutes in rush hour traffic looking for the correct road to turn down.
By the time I got there, I was pretty upset, but to top things off, their "computers are down" so there was no way for them to process me unless I had cash. They said they had their IT guy on his way to fix it but it wouldn't be for another 20 minutes or so. Ok, I understand that computers "go down", but just because a computer isn't available shouldn't mean business completely stops - why not take down all my information and send me a bill, or start the work and process it later when the computers come back up? That would have shown trust and initiative. What I consider the "failure to service" is that there was no attempt to contact me to let me know they wouldn't be able to service my vehicle at the scheduled time. Like most people, I'm very busy and my time is important to me. This whole experience for me can be best summed up as a waste of time.
This is a great shop! Everyone was very professional and kind. Their knowledge was apparent along with their honesty. They took the time to show me the dirty filters that they removed from my vehicle, and explained why it was so importance to keep clean. I would recommend them with having been provided with the best mechanical service ever from start to finish! They seem to reality genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction as well. :)
-Dominic Driver is an honest, knowledgable technician.-
I had brought my Truck to another shop which told me I failed a block test. This wasn't true as to which I had a coolant issue on my vehicle. My vehicle ended up costing alot less than anticipated.
Final point: This shop has honest technicians willing to work with you. They have a good schedule, communication, and documentation to give you the flexibility to get your vehicle fixed. My truck is running great! Vacation time!
Love the place. Great staff! Deanna and Ryan helped me out tons. I can t put it into words about how much I love the place but if I had to recommend an auto shop it would definitely be Good Works Auto Repair, LLC without a doubt. Best shop in the valley to take your car to. Love that they have financing options available if you aren t able to pay in full.
Really like this shop. Had my older 1953 truck in for a little help. Glen an the guys did not give up and put the extra effort in to gain a lifetime customer. Very straightforward and fair.
My experience with Good Works is that they went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was taken care of, and have earned my trust and business. I highly recommend them.
I have had both my vehicles serviced here. The honesty of the shop saved me over $1500 in A/C repairs for my wife's car. Regular maintenance is on price point with other shops but it's the thorough inspection that sets them apart. You don't just get a list of random repairs needed when you pick up your car. You get a detailed description of what service needs to be done WITH PHOTOS. Samples of fluids that need to be replaced are provided too. I live on the opposite side of town but will continue to use Good Works for all my auto services!
The location was a bit hard to find. Aside from that, the service was amazing, the people friendly and took pride in their work. They welcomed us off the bat, offered us snacks, candy and coffee. At the end of the day, the job they completed on my car was amazing and didnt try to sell me anything i didnt need. Love these guys and cant wait to come back for my brakes.
I've always been leery about mechanics. Probably because I don't know anything about cars and this makes me very vulnerable. I trust Good Works Auto Repair. I would recommend them to anyone!
Got me in for an oil change 15 min after I called and was under $40 for a basic oil change. Took about an hour but grabbed a gyro at the restaurant next door. Good people!
As always, my high standards for car care were exceeded. I had a narrow window of time in which to have a particular repair done and it was done so quickly and at a price below what I had expected. As a single woman it is a great comfort to be able to trust that the work will be done and done right. My history does not include any other car repair shop that I can trust with my car and I am not a spring chicken. Thanks!!
Took my vehicle there for just a simple oil change. They were affordable compared to other places I called around town, they got me in the next day and service was timely. They did not try to up-sell me on a bunch of additional repairs and also checked my tires for free to see if they needed to be rotated. I forgot something in the waiting room and they even called me to tell me I left it there and stayed open until I arrived to pick it up.
My husband and I have both used Good Works several times now, for simple oil changes and more in-depth repairs. We like the shuttle service, plus the way the staff cooperates with us in general, to work around our schedules, etc. They are very friendly & accommodating, charge fair prices, and do great work!
I wish there was a 3.5 star rating. This seems like a reputable shop with great service and nice people, however, the prices are quite high. I got quotes for three things and all were higher than the Toyota dealer! If price doesn't matter I'd trust this place but if you are on a budget check elsewhere.
I had my oil changed at a national chain. They pointed out several problems I needed to fix. Motor mounts, front struts, alignment. I took my car to Good Works, based on family recommendations. They do quality work and I expected to pay more for that. The cost was actually less than at the chain. They got me in the next day and had it finished in a few hours. Plus they have a shuttle service. Great place!
I heard about good works on ktar and after going there i would never go to a different shop i dont know much about cars but they showed me what was wrong instead for just telling me.
Communication was excellent!! LOVED the vehicle report, was beyond thorough and really helped me place a course of action for future repairs. Price was what I anticipated. Grateful for me new Car BFF, Alan .. he was wonderful and took the time to really explain EVERYTHING. Thank YOU!!
Great professionals that aren't there to sell you repairs. As a female, I greatly appreciate that quality in a shop. I have an old car with SUPER high miles and they just review possible issues that need addressing. That is helpful when I take it to my "backyard mechanic" buddy!
Glen and his team have been taking care of my family's vehicles for the last 5 years. I have come to completely trust them. While working in another city, I had a vehicle break down and repaired there. It never seemed to run right so I brought it to Az for Glen to check out. He was able to immediately find the problem and fix it while the other place basically told me nothing was wrong "its just an old vehicle". Well, it now runs like it was brand new, thanks to Glen! I tell everyone about Good Works. Trustworthy and Fair!
This is my one and only garage from now on--the service is always amazing and affordable, their honesty is flawless and they will actually show you what and why recommended repairs should be done in the near future.
I had an oil change done and it was done quickly and at a very fair price. I was also informed I needed new tires which was a surprise to me as I thought they were in very good condition. They acquired the new tires quickly and did the work of mounting swiftly as well. The staff was very friendly and informed & I will definitely continue to go back to Good Works Auto for all my car's needs.
I can only share my experience I have had with very basic services here (oil change, fluid flush, etc..). I have always had a good experience with the people here and they have always been friendly. I definitely appreciate the full thorough inspection they do after every service, including detailed notes and photos.
As expected the work completed by Good Works Auto is exactly that "Good Work". Began and finished the work ON TIME. Which in today's world is almost as good as gold. I don't have time to wait and nor do you. If you want it done right the first time, on time, this is your shop.
I originally went to Good Works Auto Repair for an oil change after seeing the positive reviews, and they were certainly justified! They've performed several repairs on my car over the past year and have always been very friendly and helpful. Make sure to check out their loyalty program if you're having any expensive work done!
Good Works has been so wonderful to my son and I. I am forever grateful. Dominic made sure to stand by his work and fix my son's car for a very fair price. They fixed several major issues and got his car to pass emissions. They stepped up and took his car through emissions to make sure it passed. They even washed his car that had been sitting in the yard a few months. They have been a Godsend to me a single mom and my son a student at ASU. They will work with you, they are fair and they stand by their work. Thank you so much for everything!!! I highly recommend this shop they are trustworthy and go way beyond in quality service to their costumers.
Excellent job Quick repairs Great staff Good Works will definitely impress you with their knowledgeable mechanics and great service. My truck was given a thorough inspection and only the necessary work was done in a timely manner.
I went to Good Works Auto Repair in Tempe today for a quick oil change. This place was GREAT!! The office was beautiful - for an auto repair shop - and the staff was really friendly. They had me in and out in no time and my car is running great! I couldn't be happier with my service! I highly recommend Good Works Auto Repair!!
We have been taking our vehicles here for years , they are very professional, friendly, they care about our family and communities thank you for your support, we appreciate you.
I found Good Works on Groupon and started with an oil change for my car. Matthew was friendly, easy to work with and gave me an incredibly detailed inspection report paired with actual photos of my vehicle parts in each category. This made it easy to understand, and made me feel more confident about making informed choices. They gave me a $20 off coupon for my next visit and took in my husband s car the next day. I ll be going to Good Works from now on!
Good Works Auto Repair... all I can say is awesome! I went in this morning to get an oil change, and admittedly I was a bit skeptical walking in. The place is recessed off of Broadway road a bit, and does look a little rundown, but upon walking into the office my worries were withdrawn. When I walked in, I was greeted by name, filled out a quick form and handed over my keys, and about 20 minutes later I was out of there. Fastest Oil Change EVER!! The staff was polite and helpful and Elise let me know what work would need to be done next time so I wouldn't be caught off guard on the next visit. I will be back and in the mean time I will be telling all my friends. Thanks for everything guys!
After 30 years of getting vehicles serviced I had become jaded and thought all shops were customer service disasters. At Good Works I had an all around A+ great experience. Outstanding service from start to finish: friendly, informative, free detailed vehicle assessment to start, work well by phone and email, fair estimates lower than dealer and other local shops, came in under their estimate, all services performed very professionally. Honest to boot: I authorized them to do another $2000 in repairs and they checked out the work and convinced me I did not need to do it. I was floored. Best shop in town.
Wow. I'm almost angry I stayed with my last car shop so long. The office staff- so freaking funny, happy, friendly, entertaining(probably not in their job description). The speed of service- most shops quote an hour for their oil changes and it ends up being closer to 2 hours. I was in and out of here in half an hour!!! Price- I got a Groupon it was $45 full synthetic oil change AND there were NO hidden fees at the end(only tax of $4). Other Pros- free coffee, sodas, water, chips, TVs, phone/computer charging workstation, free WiFi. Cons- now you all are going to go there and take up my appointment times ;) and their phones ring a lot(hidden pro bc obviously the shop is great if everyone is calling). I went to this place 5 years ago and then moved away so I didn't come here anymore. Now 5 years later this will absolutely be my go-to. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 10/10 would recommend.
I don t understand how people say that they are low cost. I paid the same or more than I would have paid at the dealership. Really pricey. 20-30% more than average. High labor charges. Nice people but I won t be going back.
After breaking down I got it towed to them because I had used them for an oil change (Groupon) several months back and being from the east coast they were one of the only shops I knew of. They tried to charge me over $600 for replacing my alternator, on my CHEVY COBALT none the less. Said "$350 for the parts and $250+ for the labor." This was on top of the $50 diagnosis.(a lot of places do this for free)
My uncle being a mechanic (back east) let me know this was only a 45 minute to an hour job for any decent mechanic. I picked up an alternator at O'Reilly's for $150 and had another shop install it for $100. I don't know if it's because I look young and they thought I wouldn't shop around, or possibly knew I was in a jam and didn't think I'd re-tow it, but needless to say I was beside myself with the estimate. I've never written a business review before but felt I had to share this one.
I needed a routine oil change and maintenance check along with a driver side headlight replacement so I took my vehicle to Goodworks Auto Repair. The staff member who helped me was very knowledgeable. Their prices are comparable to other shops however they were kind enough to replace my headlight for free. They also seemed very genuine and not pushy when they provided suggestions for maintenance. They list everything out, in order of priority, along with their prices so you can make the best decision regarding your vehicle.
I felt incredibly ripped off after my experience with Good Works. My car was having starter problems and I took it to them. I was charged I believe 130 dollars for the diagnostic which I would have been okay with but these people were trying to charge me for something that didn't need repair. They told me my starter needed to be replaced and my battery was "in serious need of replacement". After receiving the price of almost 900 dollars for a starter and battery replacement I knew I need to go somewhere else. When I left my car started perfectly fine and I took my car to pepboys to get it checked out and it turns out my car didn't need any repairs at all. My starter just needed to be taken out and put back in. I can safely say I will never go through Good Works for any automotive purposes.
I took my 4runner in for squeaky brakes. I was surprised by how thorough their inspection of the overall car was. The pictures and the break down of the car made me feel surprised and happy at the condition of the vehicle I recently purchased. Although everything checked out, it was nice to walk away with a piece of mind. Sometimes mechanics can make up fake things to fix just to make a little money. But this experience was very professional and their inspection price was extremely reasonable.
We have taken our vehicles to Good Works and have recommended to several others. We are extremely happy with the care and quality of work that this business does. The people we have recommended were also happy as they return over and over, many of which were young women who often get taken advantage of. However, Good Works is always protective of everyone who needs someone to watch over them as single women, older customers etc. It is difficult to find a reliable, honest good auto repair here in the Phoenix area. We have gone to several when we first arrived here 13 years ago and were ripped off over and over. Good Works has always taken very good care of us and we have had quality work completed. The owners Glen and Raeann are the real deal. They are honest, caring people with a tremendous amount of professionalism and integrity. Recently, Glen was asked to do an ad for a candidate and the response is so surprising. I thought we lived in a democratic country where people were encouraged to have their own opinions and beliefs. The hate that is aimed at Good Works due to this ad is just so disappointing as human beings that people would stoop so low to attack an amazing business of integrity in this way. It's cowardly to name call and belittle. Who we vote for or support no way takes away from the quality of care a certain business gives. There isn't a candidate out there that is honest any more. All we can do is pick the best one out of the bunch & at times is the lesser of the two evils. I know Glen and Raeann would never judge anyone or treat anyone in any way but with kindness, respect and integrity no matter what their beliefs are. I would highly recommend Good Works Auto Repair and always will! Keep up the great work!
All of the staff at Good Works Auto Repair are fantastic and professional people! I had a great experience with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality repair shop. They do thorough checks of your vehicle and are very transparent on how much any repairs will be. They will definitely become my permanent shop for any future vehicle issues I need looked at.
great shop. all my questions were answered and work was done in a timely manner. They even gave me a rental car free of charge. I will be using them again.
Im not a This is a customer but how dare you people get on here and do false reviews because he supports a political candidate that is not right and that is not fair I hope all of you can go to bed at night putting false reviews about this mans shop.
They always do a thorough inspection of my vehicle and the service is wonderful. They even include a print out of future services and the estimated cost. I can't recommend this garage enough!
Good Works Auto Repair in Tempe has just become my go-to shop for all my vehicle repair needs. I knew I needed a whole lot of work done on my SUV and since I use it extensively for business every day, I had a tight schedule to keep. The team put together an estimate in just a couple hours and we scheduled three Saturday appointments to get everything done. They even had a backup plan if anything went sideways since they offered me the service of a rental car as well. As it ended up, the entire list was completed in only two Saturdays and the Invoice came in within $40 of the Estimate including tax! Less time and on budget! That's quality. The decision to do or not do any of the work was completely up to me, no pressure from a sales perspective. Just good honest advice that panned out perfectly on my schedule and in my budget. Thank you Good Works for making my already hectic schedule less hectic!
They did an awesome job on my car. My tire was getting flat constantly and took it in.? They found the problem and was solved. And best thing was no cost was needed.! Thanks so much........
As a woman, we seek to find someone honest, someone to take care of our precious car that gets us to all the places we need to be, and it is hard to trust mechanics for us. I have found my trusted mechanic here. Glenn was here for me and went the extra mile to make sure I was a happy customer. I will be bringing my car back to them and referring them to my friends, because I know they can be trusted. It's hard to put out a lot of money (mine was over $4000), but when you need it done right, when you need a mechanic shop that cares about the service they provide to their customers......you can trust Glenn and Good Works Auto.
Above and beyond! I came in off a Groupon for a simple oil change and they gave me the works! Detailed pictures, descriptions and suggestions for my car. Everything was explained to me but they were not pushy for a sale. In fact, they suggested most of my repair wait until later. I have so much peace of mind now. Thank you!!
When the transmission in my 2008 Prius decided to die I was left with two real options. Take it to the dealer, or find an alternative that I felt could handle the complexity of a Prius. I found Good Works Auto Repair online and decided after reading their webpage that I would give them a try.
Even though they were very busy they were able to get me in fairly quickly. They found a used transmission for 1/6th the price of a new one and still offered their 2 year / 24K mile warranty. The final bill came back almost $200 less than originally quoted. They were honest to a fault and have earned a loyal customer.
