Artscape, Cape Town, South Africa Review

The show was great. The theatre is looking old and tired. Needs a freshen up. Carpets are threadbare in places. Weeds growing through outside paving. Toilets need an overhaul.

Have been to Artscape many times over the years. We enjoy going there. The sound is good. We normally have something to eat at the restaurant on the premises. There is something special about Artscape.

Recently visited the Artscape for the production of My Fair Lady. Fantastic show, only shortcoming is the number of ladies loos.

We watch Chicago tonight and a couple of shows before. Easy to find the venue, free and paid parking available close by, clean building and it was easy to exit after the show. Very enjoyable experience.

Paid for show karoo suite/ katrina but only no karoo suite this is not on !!!!!!

A great theater in the CBD of Cape Town. Which is mostly safe

Artscape Theatre situated in central Cape Town. Lovely vibe with very efficient and friendly staff. Restaurant and cash bar available . Tea, coffee and cakes also available. Theatre seats +- 1500 patrons with wheelchair accessibility in theatre and restrooms. All shows are clearly advertised in the foyer. Really enjoyed my visit.

Overall really good shows that are professionally produced! Rate with the best in the West End of London!

Great multifunction venue. Kept up to date despite dated architecture.

As a creative person, this is a great space to link up with fellow creatives. Am also in the process of organising film screenings here.

As far as the decor is concerned l do not like the carpet in the foyer.

Artscape Theatre is well organized for any event they host. The Boogie 10 Year Show was amazing. Loved the performance and the cast was awesome.

Evita well worth it. Che and Evita steal the show. Fortunate to have had all main leads taking part at our show. Undergoing a renovation but underground parking always a plus. Reasonable price charged.

After recently seeing Matilda at the Opera House, I am glad to see we are maintaining a very high standard in the theatre business. I am glad to see that the Artscape is modernizing and making improvements to the facility. My only request would be to replace or refurbish the seating in both the Theatre and Opera house. Goodness was it uncomfortable for 2 1/2 hours.
One last request to Theatre Goers, if you're going to the Theatre or Opera House please see it as a semi formal affair WAY too many people wearing shorts and informal clothing to a smart occasion. Respect the Theatre, Respect the Tradition. Thank you and Goodnight.

Everything you can expect I guess. Bathrooms and general area is clean except for the wine glasses........ And then the bar lady gave me a filthy look when I made her aware of it. I passed the glass to her, she stood there staring at me until another barman eventually realized what was happening and helped me with a smile. Only happened once though. Guess the lady realised that she shouldn't be in hospitality

Huge venue for 1000 plus people. Great talent always showcased. They have a shared space for NPOs

Chicago Musical was awesome. Worth the effect & money.

Organized and clean. Good sound and staff. Not all is accessible by wheelchair.

Nice place. If performing there, make sure the bulbs on stage are new or still working correctly, a few bulbs popped while we were performing.

Was here for a comedy show. State of the art environment. Spacious and clean.

Vegan burger had a flour tyoe of consistency. Pulled pork burger was tasteless.

Would've been great but the second part of Matilda started early, before most people got to their seats and the lights in the auditorium was still on.

In the Artscape, operas, musicals and plays are presented. This theater complex is one of the places Cape Town is very proud of. I recently saw South Pacific and enjoyed every moment of it. If this is your first visit to Cape Town, then a visit to the Artscape should be high on your to-do list.
