This place is fabulous. If you're looking to lighten your hair, I highly recommend Jeremy. I have gone to multiple salons before, and no one has ever been able to color my hair so tastefully and successfully get out all the brassiness before. I'm so happy I discovered him. Besides Jeremy, my favorite part was how intimate it felt - I didn't have to make awkward eye contact in the mirror with anyone else.
It was my first time here and Jason did my hair cut. I went to get a pixiecut and it was okay. I think it's just my hair that's hard to style, esp a pixi cut. I have coarse thick Asian hair and it's hard to get that perfect cut. It's hard to keep the sideburns from sticking and the baby hairs (I think that's what u call it) on the back of my head from staying down. Not a lot of people can cut an Asian hair pixi style (like ginnifer Goodwin or Michelle Williams). Back to Chinatown I go. Jason was super nice though!

I'm not the client, my wife is. She discovered this place years ago through a mutual friend, and now travels the 2 hours there whenever needing a trim, cut, or color. I have no complaints as they always make her look even more fabulous than usual. As her "+1", I get to sit in the very comfortable rear lounge and watch the process as the staff constantly checks to make sure I'm comfortable and if I'm in need of a beverage. Every person there is super nice, and the vibe is very relaxing. Her stylist is Benjamin. Besides being the nicest person on the planet, his professional skills are amazing. My wife is always happy with the result, and I can tell by his interactions with her (and other clients) that he really listens and works to make them happy. My daughter has also become his client. As the gray hairs slowly appear on my head, he has gently suggested that he could work on that with a little color and trim. I'm getting close to taking him up on that offer!

Damien Carney at Arte salon cut my hair. He was amazing as usual. He was professional, suggested lots of great ideas for my hair and my face shape. I liked that I never felt pressure. He took his time from start to finish. The result was fabulous. For the first time my hair was easy to manage because of the great haircut. Its been 4 weeks and still looks great !

Used to be amazing. I visited so many times. Until it continuously got more and more expensive. I didn t mind the cost, but the last time I went I had my hair stylist forget I had an appointment, cut my hair in-between another clients color, then leave my hair wet when I left. Over $100 for a sloppy hair cut. Insane. Way over priced and pretentious

Damien Carney did my hair and he is absouately amazing. My hair has never looked so good. The perscision of the cut is flawless. No. matter how I blow dry it or even let it dry naturally it looks like I just walked out of the salon..LOVE HIM!!!!!!

Let me just start out by saying, that I have been frequenting Arte Salon for several years now and have never had anything but an amazing experience. I always see Sherene and she has done wonders with my hair, whether it was straight and damaged (due to Japanese Straightening at another salon) or now as I have embraced my naturally curly texture. I don t trust anyone but Sherene with my locks after having a lifetime full of bad hair experiences. The staff are always so sweet and professional and the owner Joseph is always so welcoming. They have a beautiful patio on the ground floor for snapping the perfect insta-friendly pic afterwards! Highly recommend!

Wow. Where to begin. This was my first and last time at Arte Salon. The pricing on the site is false. Owner is combative and not solution oriented. After waiting fifty minutes for a haircut spent 11 minutes with a stylist that took my requested trim to shoulder length hair. Not even an apology for the delay. Walked out paying $285.31 for a mediocre haircut. Got reprimanded for calling out the pricing discrepancies by Joseph who was as intolerable as the wait time. He also didn t apologize. This salon was recommended by a friend that paid $150 for a haircut with the SAME stylist FOUR days earlier. Add insult to injury, my leather jacket was moved from my tote bag during my haircut. Watch out. This place is a complete rip off with terrible customer service!!
My hairstylist was Reina. She did a fantastic job! I had planned to get a new haircut during my trip to NY and i found this place via internet. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. Cosy place, definitely recommend!
For an amazing cut, you need to go to Damien. I've been to other places that just want to get you in and out in 30 minutes. Damien spoke to me about the best cut for my fine hair but still listened to what I wanted. He spent his time and even showed me tips on how to create volume at home!
Always great hair when Tre s taking care of my color. I do balayage and also glosses from time to time and very satisfied. Whole tim is very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!!
It's a great salon. Talented stylists, efficient front desk, friendly, upscale atmosphere. I've been going to Kyoko for more than a decade and she has such a good eye that at this point I just tell her to do what she wants with my hair and I'm always happy.

Cannot recommend this salon and Tre as a colorist enough! Super high quality work, really friendly staff, and really comfortable environment. I had virgin hair and went to Tre for a double process and his work is incredible people comment on my hair and how natural is looks constantly even though it's a platinum double process. It's honestly a pleasure to get my hair done at Arte.

My husband found Arte around 9 years ago and I joined him in coming to the salon a couple of years after that. Anastasia is an incredible stylist, able to work wonders with my fine curls and his thick, straight hair. The salon is welcoming and feels like you are getting pampered, without any pretension. I travel from the northern end of Manhattan to Arte and it is worth it!
